AHSC568 Bubbles & Wheat

Happy Monday, peeps!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  Today, we have a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch:

I am not going to belabor the fact that the In Color Wild Wheat is not one of my favorite colors!  But this sweet little patterned paper from Poetic Expressions was calling my name, so I went out of my comfort zone and embraced the wheat!  Here we go:

I cut some strips of the same DSP, different pattern, as well as a little strip of Bubble Bath, which was embossed with an Ellen Hutson Stitching Lines die, then attached them to the little print.  I used markers, ink and a blender pen to color in the sprig from Nature's Prints, then added the Hello sentiment from the same set.  Finally, some little banners, also embossed with the Stitching Lines dies, finished it off.  Although Wild Wheat is still pretty far at the bottom of my "favorite colors" list, I think this turned out pretty sweet!

I hope you'll be able to play with our sketch this week....I think it's a great one (especially because I love things in THREES--love those three strips!) and I am sure I'll be using it again!  Share your creation with us at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog--we can't wait to see it!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS598 Best Wishes

Happy Thursday, all! I have a quick card using the challenge colors from  CAS Colours & Sketches and the sketch from FMS:

And yes, I used the (dreaded) Wild Wheat!  Here we go:

Nature's Prints provided everything I needed for my card; I stamped my foliage in Cajun Craze, Pecan Pie and a very faint Wild Wheat, then added the sentiment in Wild Wheat.  I embossed the whole piece with Timeworn Type and did some "antiquing" with Wild Wheat ink as well.  My final embellishment were a few sequins at the top (difficult to see, but they're there!):

and a wee bit of Wavy Trim at the bottom:

Thanks for popping in today!

A few more birthday greetings:

This pretty blue creation, using some of my favorite papers, is from Sandy:

And this pastel pretty is from my upline, Pennie:

And this gorgeous floral is from Tracy:

Thanks so much!!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Birthday Shells

Happy Monday, peeps!  It's club day so I will make this quick!  My card is for two challenges:  the Just Us Girls challenge wants shells, and the Inspired By challenge is Sea Decor:

One of my favorite shell images is called Shell Plate 17 from 100 Proof Press; I combined it with a Cheesecloth stamp for my card today:

The shells were stamped in Baja Breeze on Mist cardstock from Close to My Heart and diecut with a Scalloped Contours die.  The cheesecloth was stamped in Crumb Cake and I added some "splashes" with a stamp from Nature's Prints, stamped in Craft White ink.

I stamped a birthday sentiment from Lasting Joy and diecut it with a Nested Essentials die; beneath it I added a rope tied with a nautical-style knot:

The sentiment and shells on the inside are from an older Crafty Secrets set:

Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP644 Color Challenge and a Faux Pas

Happy Sunday, peeps! It's picnic time today at church, looking forward to spending time with my church family on this gorgeous Sunday!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge too, with Anne Marie as our hostess.  She has a wonderful color palette for us today, and I am loving it!  Here we go:

I was so excited to make my card...I actually made it a couple of days ago and I used Circle Sayings and a sentiment from Nature's Prints:

Probably at first glance, the card seems fine---heat-embossed design, watercolored with inks and an aquapainter, a fun sketch and lots of texture!  However, check out the sentiments:

"Sending you a a heartfelt thank you".....duh, I have two "a's" in the sentiment.  On yesterday's card, I remembered to trim off one of the "a's" but on this one, I forgot!  I went to retrieve the card to repair it and realized it had already gone out in the mail to one of my customers!  Gee whizzies!  What a goofball!  Hopefully she'll get a giggle out of it or maybe she won't notice!  Anyway, I used the sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday:

along with some Lost Lagoon DSP and a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock embossed with the Cane Weave EF.  I added a little bit of Lemon Lolly zigzag cardstock for the horizontal piece, topped with a wee little Basic White sliver, diecut with the Nested Essentials dies!

I hope you'll play along with our pretty color combo this week....be sure to zoom over to the Paper Players to see what amazing creations our design team came up with too!  Then share yours with us as well!

I had a little visitor on my hummingbird feeder yesterday:

In all my years of birding, I don't think I've ever seen a swallowtail on my feeder!  So cool!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Three Cards, One Sketch for In(k)spire Me:

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I've been playing around with some different techniques lately, after seeing some lovely cards out in blogland!  I needed three thank you cards, so I decided to use the same sketch and stamp set for all three, making each one a little different. I used the sketch from In(k)spire Me, although I didn't use the color palette:

So let me show you the first one, which is my favorite:

All the cards use the flower from Quiet Meadow and the sentiment from Nature's Prints, and all are on Very Vanilla cardstock.  The flowers were stamped with Stazon ink and after I made sure the ink was dry, I used a circle stencil to sponge in some Boho Blue ink:

Then I tore a piece of cardstock and used the ragged edges as another type of stencil, and sponged in some ink between the edges for a faux torn strip.  To the left, I stamped the fern image in Crumb Cake and added a Linen Thread bow:

My second one uses the same stencil technique for the flowers, using Moody Mauve and Boho Blue ink.   I used the Best Borders die to cut the panel in sections, stamped some foliage underneath on the Moody Mauve card, and added a Linen Thread embellishment as well.

The third one was watercolored instead of stenciled, and I used Calypso Coral and Soft Seafoam inks along with a strip of Calypso Coral DSP and a bit of frayed Baker's Twine, all on a Soft Seafoam card.

I do enjoy watercoloring, so this one is probably my second-favorite!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS581 Just Wanted to Say

Happy Thursday, peeps!  A fun little thank you card is on deck today using the FMS sketch for this week:

Since Country Bouquet is carried over into the new catalog, I thought I would give it a whirl; it's not just for Valentine's, right?  I used Mint Macaron and Crushed Curry on a gingham background for a springy creation; I began by embossing the gingham with the Stitched With Whimsy die:

After stamping and fussy-cutting the heart out, I also stamped some of the sprigs from the same set and fussy-cut them out too.  I added a crushed seam binding ribbon, some sequins, and the sentiment:

On the inside, I added a strip of the same DSP as well as a sentiment from Nature's Prints:

And it's in the mail!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!  And I don't know how it is in your neck of the woods but it is HOT here in PA!  Very un-spring-like!

GDP382 Nature's Prints Thanks

Hello, stamping friends! I have a fun little monochromatic card today; I love hobnail milk glass and have a few pieces, and my friend recently bought me a sweet little vase!  So I wanted to send her a thank you card, of course, and the sketch from Global Design Project was just right:

So here we go:

My friend loves green, so I chose a piece of plaid Shaded Spruce DSP for the background of my 4 1/4" square card.  I diecut three Basic White circles and embossed each one with a different embossing folder.  I stamped and diecut a piece of greenery from Nature's Prints, also stamped in Shaded Spruce and added a sentiment from Simply Fabulous:

A simple little white twine bow finished it off!  So happy you visited today!

Dana and Wayne took the dogs for a four mile walk on Sunday...awesome scenery and fun little finds as well:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Nature's Prints Thanks

Happy Monday, all! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend  It's wrapping day in the Pugliese household!  Hopefully I'll get them all done before hubby gets home from work, LOL!  I have a non-Christmas card today; it uses the sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday as well as the challenging (to me) colors from Inspire.Create:

So here we go:

Petal Pink and Rich Razzleberry are colors I rarely use; Granny Apple Green I use a little more often, so I chose this challenge because I really wanted to be challenged!  To make the colors a bit more matching in tone, I stamped the Early Espresso and Rich Razzleberry on scrap paper first before stamping them; that way the colors were a bit softer!

My sentiment is from Hand-Penned Petals; florals and greenery are from Nature's Prints.  I used Petal Pink DSP for the horizontal panel, and also embossed the front panel with the Timeworn Type EF.  I finished it off by adding some pretty Seasonal Sequins!  Thanks for popping in today!

Hubby and I hit an estate sale over the weekend in an over-55 community.  One of the homes had this in their yard:

This is a FULL SIZE sleigh and horse....and it's not a blow-up one, either!  I wonder if they keep them in the garage for the rest of the year!  I'd love to see it all lit up; might have to take a ride some night this week!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Nature's Prints in Poppy

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have a monochromatic card for you today, for two challenges.  The Atlantic Hearts sketch is a great one, as always, and the CASEing The Catalog challenge is a Facebook challenge where you copy something from the catalog.

The Facebook challenge was to use a bundle, and I used the Nature's Prints bundle shown on page 165.  I used the AH sketch which was similar to what was in the catalog, and I used Poppy Parade and Very Vanilla because I wanted to simply highlight how pretty and detailed this stamp set is! So here we go:

I stamped and diecut several of the images from the Nature's Prints stamp set with the Natural Prints dies, then layered them on a piece of Very Vanilla that was embossed with the Timeworn Type EF.  I was able to snip some of the images apart and use as fillers, which filled in some of the empty spaces.  Since the sample had a twine bow, I added a couple of loops under the sentiment and Poppy Parade circular mat along with a little snippet of Poppy Parade DSP:

I did some stamping along with the sentiment on the inside as well:

I will add this to my birthday card stash!  So happy you visited today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
