CAS70 Father’s Day

DSCF8108

I managed to nail down several challenges with this one clean and simple card! First, I used Stacey’s Act 33 color challenge:

act_33

the Fall to Layout sketch #93:

FTL93

the CAS70 challenge on SCS today, which was to make a quote, verse or saying your focal point, and a new challenge from Really Reasonable Ribbon, which was to make a masculine card with ribbon! So here is my card:

DSCF8109

Pretty simple; I did use some craft ink to stamp a sentiment on the retired SU twill ribbon!

Thanks for visiting today! Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new ColourQ, too!

  • Stamps: Scripture Collection 2, ODBD; Father’s Day, H&M Stamps
  • Paper: Night of Navy, Certainly Celery, WW, Retired SU DP
  • Ink: Night of Navy Classic and Craft
  • Acc: Ret Twill Ribbon, Buttons from my stash, Glue Dots, Thread

Act 28 Color Challenge

DSCF7751

I needed a couple more cards for my Mother’s Day stash at Curves, and after spending the weekend at the shore, I remembered I had this sweet little set from Crafty Secrets, so I went to work with Stacey’s Curtain Call Color Challenge:

act 28

Oooh, I love these colors.  I think I will play with them some more!  My card is pretty simple, since I needed to make several of them:

And just a little stamping on the inside, too.

So, is the pollen bad in your area?  I feel like I am in a fog today….my eyes are swollen and blurry, good thing I can just stay home!  My sympathies to all you allergy sufferers out there!

Act 26

DSCF7596

Stacey has an interesting color combo in her latest Curtain Call Color Challenge.  Here’s a peek:

act26

This is a little different than my normal style….I just sort of threw some elements together, and I used one of my splurges from last week….a new scallop punch:

DSCF7594

I wish I could have gotten my ribbon to behave a bit better, but I think it’s still a fun little card.  It also uses the Fall to Layout #84.    I just love that textured cardstock, I need to use it more!

I also wanted to share a couple cards I received.  I am very behind on my sharing, I promise to keep up with it better!  This one is from my upline Pennie, thanking me for doing  a quick demo at our last meeting:

DSCF7598

and this one is from my sweet blogging friend Kelley, which came along with her blog candy that I won (and hopefully will use VERY soon!):

DSCF7597

I just LOVE these colors together!!!  It’s so fun to get mail! And I think it’s quite interesting that both cards use colors from the orange family!!!   Thanks for visiting, and hopefully I’ll be back soon with my CAS card for the day!

Curtain Call #24

DSCF7466

Another card for you this beautiful Wednesday (although LindaL said she is having SNOW tonight!!!), this one was a little quicker to make, using the colors from Stacey’s Curtain Call Color Challenge shown here:

act24b

At first I did not think I was going to like this palette, but after seeing Stacey’s card and a few of the others, I thought I would try it out.  I needed a thank you for someone who did something nice for me, so this is what I made:

DSCF7468

I used some fun PTI samples and the flower & leaf from Best Wishes & More.

You have probably heard the news from Stampin’Up! about their “Color Renovation”…..thirty colors retiring, some In Colors returning, five new In Colors,  and some shifting around of the remaining colors and neutrals.  We all hate change, don’t we?  But we like new stuff, too!  As Robin Merriman said, Harvest Gold and Avocado Green appliances in our kitchens are no longer stylish!!  (No offense to those who still have their appliances---you’re now considered “retro”!)  Anyway, I am keeping an open mind and looking forward to playing with some new colors!  If you would like to see more details, just shoot me an email (be sure to leave yours so I can respond) and I’ll fill you in!

  • Stamps:  Best Wishes & More, Short & Sweet
  • Paper:  WW, Kraft, PTI samples
  • Ink:  So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Garden Green
  • Acc:  Brads, Ret SU ribbon, Small oval punch, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Dimensionals

Stacey’s Curtain Call Act#23

DSCF7366

I haven’t played Stacey’s Color Challenge for a while, so I thought I would take a few minutes today to play!  These are such elegant colors, and the designers’ samples are so nice!  I had seen some punched tulips (I believe on LeeAnn Greff’s blog) so I thought I would try them here to make another Easter card for my stash.  I also used Taylor’s sketch.  Here are the details:

act23TESC106

and here is my card:

DSCF7364

Dots & sentiment are from PTI; the tulip is sort of 3D; you can see it here:

DSCF7365

it is made from the wing of the large bird punch that is in the current SU mini catalog---how versatile & cool is that!  Thanks for visiting again today!

Grungy Curtain

DSCF6865

Ha!  I’ll bet that title got your attention!!! LOL!  This card is for Mercy’s sketch#61 and Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 17:

MTSC61 act17

I rarely make boy cards, even though I have three boys in my immediate family!! Girl cards are just more fun!  But this Extreme Guitar image was available with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration, so I thought it would be good for future use!  So I inked it up for today’s card, grunge-style, and came up with this:

DSCF6866

(The More Mustard panel here looks  like Pumpkin Pie, but honestly, it’s not!!)  I have to admit, this was a fun sketch, and I got to use lots of different images from different stamp sets!  The guitar player was inked in More Mustard, then I dabbed the edge of my Chocolate Chip pad on top.  Each piece was also overstamped with the Sanded background stamp.  I can’t wait to try this sketch again with another image!  Thanks for visiting today!

DSCF6867

  • Stamps:  Sanded, Extreme Guitar, Boho Backgrounds, Circle Circus, A to Z, All Holidays
  • Paper:  Going Gray, Very Vanilla, So Saffron, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
  • Inks:  Going Gray, So Saffron, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
  • Acc:  Oval Nesties, Star Punch, 1/16” Punch, Silver Brads, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals

Valentine for Snowmen

DSCF6741

In honor of the 25” inches of snow we got over the weekend, and in anticipation of the 12-24” of MORE snow predicted for Wednesday, I chose to make a snowman Valentine’s card for Stacey’s Stamping Stage Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 16 shown here:

act 16

Isn’t this SWEET???  Since my mojo has been in a snowbank lately, I decided to do the snow theme.  Here ya go:

DSCF6739

Okay, so maybe it’s not exactly a Valentine---but it could be!  Or it could be a birthday card, or a Christmas card….use your imagination!  Okay, gotta run!  All products are SU except the snowflake punch, which is MS!!!  (And I colored the clear rhinestone with a COPIC!!! I love it!)

Hugs!!!

10-Minute Valentine Challenge

DSCF6431

DH's favorite color is camouflage!! Is that really a color? Anyway, I threw caution to the wind today and made him a quick little un-traditional Valentine card that reminds me of camouflage and fulfills a whole bunch of challenges!

Here they are:

act 11

So I can thank Susan for this "new" technique of placing scored lines on my card....I just never think to do it, plus I don't have a Scor-Pal, but it is easy enough to do it with my scoring tool:

DSCF6433

The CAS part is self-explanatory! The stamps are a new clear-mount set from SU, which I have been using a LOT lately! This really did take about 10 minutes--I decided to add some embossing with my Big Shot (look at the closeup photo on top) so that may have added a minute or two (only because I had to look up my directions as to how to do it!!!). Thanks for visiting today!
