RRCB175 Sending Love

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Time for a new Retro Rubber challenge, where we choose some older stamps and show them some love!  And today's challenge is a "lovely" one, too:

I pulled out one of my all-time favorites, Greeting Card Kids from 2010, to create my little Valentine today:

I stamped this little sweetie on Shimmery White cardstock with Stazon ink and used reinkers to watercolor her in:

I also used a set from 2017 called Sealed with Love to give her a little love note!!  I diecut it with the matching die and added some diecut hearts and an arrow:

Since I am using the colors from Sunday Stamps, I embossed a Smoky Slate panel with a Fun Stampers Journey embossing folder, and added a mat of Basic Gray!  I also added a Poppy Parade ribbon that I recycled from a gift I received from a fellow stamper!  Can't let that pretty ribbon go to waste!

I need to gear up on my Valentine-card-making, because it will be here before we know it!  It's already February, yikes!  I hope you'll pull out some of your older stamps and create something "lovely" with them!  Then share them with us at the Retro Rubber blog!  Just make sure your stamps are at least a year old, and tell us their (approximate) age!  See you there!

Here is my little (not so little anymore!) Valentine sweetie:

Thanks for popping in today...enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB128 Greeting Card Kids Valentine

Hi everyone!  It's Tuesday, and that means Retro Rubber day, where we give our older stamps some love!  Here's our challenge for these two weeks:

Image may contain: possible text that says 'Retro Rubber Challenge #128 love is in the air! (use red, pink and white on your card) February 11, 2020 February 21, 2020 color challenge #rrcb128'

Isn't this just the sweetest photo prompt?!  Yum!  I had lots of ideas swirling in my head, but I finally chose a stamp set from 2010 called Greeting Card Kids.  Remember that one?  I stamped my wee little Valentine girl in Stazon ink on Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored her in:

I diecut her with a Stitched Shape circle die, added a scalloped Real Red mat, then placed her on a Rococo Rose gingham panel.  I added some Real Red diecut hearts as well:

A couple of past Paper Pumpkin Valentine sets came in handy for the sentiment on the outside:

as well as the inside:

And I used the sketch from the Fusion challenge for my layout:

Here's another card I made for the RR challenge before I remembered the Greeting Card Kids set; this one uses an image from a stamp set I don't know the name of; I got it at a yard sale and I think it is probably from the early 2000s:

Edited to add:  Thank you, Tina, for letting me know the name of the mystery set...it's Thankful Thoughts!  The sentiment is from Vintage Postcard, and it is from 2001, so if anyone recognizes the silhouette, let me know!  I stamped her in Riding Hood Red ink, and added a felt flower with an enamel center, some pink and white baker's twine and a polka dot background atop a mat of Merry Merlot.  Isn't this just the sweetest image?:

Love that little pup too!  Thanks for popping in today!  I hope you'll dust off some of those older stamp sets...they have to be at least a year old...and ink them up today for our pretty color challenge!  Share it with us at the Retro Rubber blog!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP119 Cardmaker's Choice

Hi peeps!  Hope you're doing well today---it has been a beautiful October so far!  Justin has a fun , easy challenge for us at Stamp Ink Paper this week:

Image may contain: text

Well, maybe it's a little tougher than I thought!  There is NO WAY I could pick out a favorite stamp set, color OR paper!  I just have way too many favorites!  But I did remember a cute little stamp set that I hadn't gotten inky in a long, long time that I thought would be a good one to pull out...it is one of my many, many favorites, it's called Greeting Card Kids:

And I was able to incorporate a few more challenges with this one, too!  In(k)spire Me has a sketch; House of Cards wants CAS Halloween; and Less Is More wants watercoloring!

I stamped my cute little witch with Stazon ink on SU's watercolor paper and colored her in with an aquapainter and reinkers:

I cut the circle out with a Stitched Shape die and added a little circular element from another Halloween set, then added some spooky bats on the Crumb Cake background!  And here's the inside:

Lots of favorites...alll my Halloween sets are right up at the top of that list!  I hope you'll share your favorite stamp, ink and paper with us this week...if you can decide which to choose!  Check out the other designers' creations as well...they have some beauties!

And speaking of little beauties, here is Cassidy's school picture for second grade:

We were happy with it!  And we're happy you popped it today---be blessed!

Paper Players 179

DSCF0330
Hi peeps!  It’s Sunday, and that means another Paper Players challenge!  Sandy is our hostess and here’s her wonderful challenge:

Oooh….one layer!  That is a challenge!  I pulled out one of my favorite outline images, the little Valentine girl from Greeting Card Kids, stamped her on a watercolor-paper card and went to work:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Greeting Card Kids Valentine Stampin Up
I colored the image with reinkers and an aquapainter, and added some glitter on her little heart:

DSCF0331

I added a sentiment from Delightful Dozen, filling in the heart with a little Pink Pirouette ink and adding some glitter and a rhinestone:

DSCF0332

I rounded one corner just to add a little additional interest!

SO…..let’s see what you make with JUST ONE LAYER!!!  A little bit of embellishment is okay, but no paper layers!  Share it with us at the Paper Players blog….we can’t wait to see it!  And check out what the other designers made as well...they'll blow your socks off!

We finally had a nice enough day to bring the Radio Flyer tricycle outside!  We had a couple of mishaps involving “speed” and turning, but nothing serious!!  It’s just a matter of learning!

DD15 and TST79

DSCF6069

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Another thank you card today, this one using the colors from the Dynamic Duos:

as well as the sketch from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday:

I dusted off my little girl from Greeting Card Kids and did some watercoloring:

DSCF6070

I kept it pretty simple, since the FMS girls like it that way!  Just added some pearls, a ribbon and a little banner from Itty Bitty Banners.  Here’s a closeup of this little sweetie:

And here’s another little sweetie:

Enjoy your day---email me if you have questions!

Card Monkey #91

DSCF0575

Oh, those sweeties over at a la Card Monkey asked me to be one of their guest designers again!  Check out this fun sketch:

Monkey91 A Bundle of Love-001

I had mentioned that I wanted to use the sweet little girl from Greeting Card Kids for a Valentine’s card, so this was a perfect opportunity.  The sketch was simple, so it wouldn’t detract from the detailed image, and I’d have a chance to do some watercoloring:

Monkey 91

I stamped my little girl in Stazon on watercolor paper and used reinkers to color her in:

DSCF0577

I used a combination of Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride DPs for my background, and I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch to make a cute little cross-stitch embellishment (I am pretty sure my PP friend Ann showed me this!)

DSCF0576

I used the same watercolor paper to diecut a couple hearts from the Fashionable Hearts die along with a sentiment from Tiny Tags, stamped in Real Red.  This is really a simple card, but I just love how it turned out!  I hope you’ll play along with the Monkey girls…..check out their blog here and see what the other designers came up with!

I think I might have to make a card with these colors and patterns!

Paper Players 52

DSCF0063

Hello, stampers!  It’s Sunday, it’s Father’s Day, and I do not have a masculine card for the Paper Players today!!  Oh well!  Today’s challenge is a wonderful CAS sketch:

Challenge 52

and since is was so sweet and simple, I incorporated a couple other challenges as well:  Just Add Ink was to “just colour it in”, and the Play Date Cafe color challenge 86 was this fun palette:

PDCC86

I pulled out the sweet little girl image from Greeting Card Kids for my CAS card:

DSCF0060

Perhaps it’s not 100% “clean & simple” but it’s fairly simple!  I did add some doodads to my panel and a little button & bling as well!  But I had so much fun watercoloring!

DSCF0062

She is stamped in Stazon black and then colored with reinkers and an aquapainter in shades of Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo.  Of course, she had to have brown hair like my little cutie!

149_5364

And she matches those colors, too!  Thanks so much for visiting—your comments make our day!  Please visit the Paper Players blog and play along with us…..it’s a nice easy sketch, so relax and have fun!  And check out what the other designers have come up with as well!
