PP346 A Friend Like You

Hello, everyone!  Laurie is our Paper Players hostess today with a sweet little sketch!  Check it out:

This is the time of the year that I am torn between playing with new goodies or trying to use up some retiring goodies that I still have LOTS of!  This Serene Scenery DSP is just so pretty, I admit to hoarding it a wee bit, so I forced myself to use this sweet dandelion scene along with the retired Banner Blessings and soon-to-be-retired Kinda Eclectic:

I stamped the sunburst in So Saffron, then the sentiment on top in Early Espresso.  I stamped it again on some scrap cardstock and cut out the little banner so that it would extend outside the edge of my square.  I added some mats, sequins, and burlap trim, then stamped a dear little sentiment from March's Paper Pumpkin below....I thought the two sentiments complemented each other nicely!

The design team has outdone themselves with this sketch...you can see all of their creations at the Paper Players blog!  I hope you will play along with the sketch and use some of your new--or old--goodies too!

So....we went to a wedding Friday night; it was in a barn, but it was very nicely done.  I am still trying to learn how to do a selfie, LOL!

Then bright and early Saturday morning, we did our little town's Memorial Day parade; John marched behind the color guard:

Then participated in the 21-gun salute with some of the other veterans:

Then, all afternoon, we started dismantling the kitchen....the fridge and stove are out in the garage, the cupboards are bare, and today, the rest of it will be gone...ready for the wall to come out!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP345 CAS Butterflies

Hi everyone! Nance is our wonderful hostess today for the Paper Players and look at the fabulous challenge she has for us!

I am sure we'll have some gorgeous creations in the gallery this week!  For my card, I chose to make a notecard using some retiring  (and retired) products that I will surely miss!  So here we go:

This is probably less CAS than I would prefer but I kept thinking of things that would go with the Case This Sketch sketch that I used:

My background images are from Kinda Eclectic (leaves) and Gorgeous Grunge (speckles and lines); sentiment is from February 2016's Paper Pumpkin, Hello Sunshine, and the little butterflies are from Clearly Besotted.  The butterflies are diecut and punched from the SAB glimmer papers in Sweet Sugarplum, Bermuda Bay and Mint Macaron, which are also the colors of ink I used.  The little wee strip of washi tape is some I had laying on my desk and it doesn't really match the Mint, but I used it anyway!!!

I can't wait to see your clean-and-simple butterfly creations!  Check out what the design team did as well:

Cassidy surprised me one day by sneaking down to the garden and harvesting the asparagus for me! She did a great job too!  We aren't having a garden this year because of the construction, but the asparagus is a perennial so we don't have to do anything but cut it!  Too bad she doesn't like to eat it!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 335 Sympathy in Green

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess this week with a timely challenge:

I think green and white is a really fresh color combo, but I usually tend to go to softer greens, so I thought I would challenge myself and use Cucumber Crush for my CAS card today:

This layout is fairly basic and simple; I stamped the leaves from Kinda Eclectic on the white panel and added a sentiment from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  The lace is from the SAB set Delicate Details; I added a wide satin ribbon as an accent, and it was done!  The DT has done a great job with using different greens....what will you create?  Be sure to share it over at the Paper Players blog, and check out the samples while you're there!

A little puffy paint creativity:

She loves her mommy!

Enjoy your day!

SIP87 A Little Kindness

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge!  And what a sweet challenge it is:  Kindness!
Image may contain: text

I haven't done a "vintage" card lately, and this set from Artistic Outpost has been sadly under-used, so I got it inky!

The set is called Birds of a Feather, and it has a nice selections of vintage images!  I thought these little girls were sweet:

And it has a lovely German print background, interspersed with some egg images; I added the sentiment and the florals (same set), then stamped a couple of butterflies from Kinda Eclectic:

Because these little girls looked like best friends, I added a tag, some linen thread and a candy dot, then a layer of Graphic 45 DSP and some crochet trim and rickrack!

And finally, a sentiment also from Kinda Eclectic....because my sweet friend is indeed very kind!

This is also for the Sunday Stamps 146 sketch challenge, as well as the Double D Challenges, which is to use rickrack or zigzag!  Edited to add: This fits well for the Card Concept challenge this week, which is Vintage!

I hope you will play along with the Stamp Ink Paper team and share your creations with us this week! Can't wait to spread some kindness around!

Cassidy and Lamby are having quite a phone conversation:

I wonder what their conversation was about?  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PCC231 So Sorry

Happy Monday, peeps!  We had a glorious weekend, weather-wise, but it makes me nervous, having these 60+ temps in February!  We're bound to pay for it somewhere along the line!  I had a little stamping time yesterday and made my third sympathy card for the week using the sketch from Paper Craft Crew:

Visit the Paper Craft Crew and play along with Card Sketch 231. #pcc2017 #cardsketch #papercraftcrew www.papercraftcrew.com

I hadn't used this detailed floral image from the SAB set Avant Garden, so I paired it with some Floral Boutique papers for my creation:

It seems as if I have a lot going on here....lace, leaves, florals....but I hope it all works together.  I chose Night of Navy as a monochromatic hue.  Thanks for popping in today!

Since I got a membership to Longwood Gardens (check out their website here) for Christmas and hadn't used it yet, I asked my SIL to go with me yesterday; the weather was so nice, I think every other person in the tri-state area had the same thought---it was packed!  They have an orchid display right now, so there were orchids everywhere!

This was an orchid wall in the lobby; then an arch of orchids in the conservatory:

A reflecting pool and hanging baskets in the conservatory, and some ground cover florals:

This doorway was covered in orchids above....it's hard to capture how big it is:

A beautiful way to spend a February afternoon!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for our Stamp Ink Paper challenge, too!

CCMC442

Happy Friday, peeps!  I was excited to see the color challenge at Create with Connie & Mary (now at a "new" FB location) because it is so bright and cheery, it almost makes me forget I have a cold and the skies are still kinda gray!  What do you think:

Image may contain: text

I also used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

These colors just seemed to fit with the images of the cute new set, Day at the Beach, so I did some stamping, punching, diecutting and coloring:

Each image was stamped in the challenge colors and colored with marker, blender pen and/or aquapainter!  I used a sentiment from Suite Sentiments, the big sun from Kinda Eclectic and the horizontal element is from Butterfly Basics.  Isn't it fun to mix and match elements from different sets?

And the inside sentiment is from Avant Garden:

Another card to add to my birthday stash!

Wayne brought home some amazing strawberries last night (he works for a wholesale produce company) and Cassidy decided to try a little trick she saw on her tablet from Life Hacks.  She took a drinking straw and pushed it up from the bottom, through the strawberry, to take out the hull.  It was a little tricky to get it pushed straight through; she needed some help from Mommy, but it worked!!

And she took a big bite out it before I could take a picture!!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 307 AO Live in the Sunshine

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Hope your weekend is good so far!  Today, Joanne is our Paper Player hostess with a challenge that really challenged me, LOL!

I was hung up on using a light bulb on my card, but didn't have a single stamp that fit the bill!  Then I remembered some Artistic Outpost stamp sets and lo and behold, there was a perfect "sunshine" sentiment!  It was easy after that:

I love these eclectic-style cards...they're fun and forgiving, if you happen to stamp something not quite straight!!  I started with some polka-dot paper (Park Bench by Fancy Pants) and stamped the sunburst from Kinda Eclectic with Crushed Curry ink.  Then I just randomly stamped the other images in Stazon Black and Smoky Slate; the sentiment is from AO's The Outpost; the bee is from Darcie's Heart & Home BeeUtiful; the "be happy" is from Our Daily Bread Designs' Mini Tag Sentiments.  All the other images are from AO's A Lovely Day.

I wanted to put some banners in the empty left-hand corner, but the sentiment was in the way, so I made two slits above and below the sentiment, then tucked the banners underneath:

I thought the bee and "be happy" looked sweet together!

And when I was in elementary school, I thought Holland would be the most wonderful place to visit...not sure what the appeal was, but maybe it was all those tulips!  I love how the polka dots make some of the tulips look yellow!

And since most of the stamps I used were Artistic Outpost, I am entering this in their August challenge!

I can't wait to see your interpretation of the Paper Players challenge!  I hope you play with us!  Check out what the other team members created here:

Cassidy was insistent on doing some harvesting in the garden!  Grampy went down to help her out:

Check out the size of this beet!  She won't eat them either, but she likes to pull them up!

And a couple more birthday cards....I keep getting them, it's delightful!  This delicate design is from my friend Sandy:

and Cassidy and I both were enthralled with this fun card from my sweet friend Kristi!  This cupcake is AMAZING!

Thanks so much for stopping in today...have a blessed one!
