FMS315 and Inspired By #75 Snowy Gift Bag

Happy Monday, peeps!  Did you have a good weekend?!  Ours was a WHIRLWIND, it was all fun but I will be happy to chill a little bit today!  I have another gift bag I made for the hostess who invited us to dinner on Saturday night!  It uses the theme from Inspired by All the Little Things as well as the sketch from FMS:

I apologize for the poor photography, but it was a challenge to get a good picture!

I used some retired holiday papers; the Swirly Scribble die in some pale green glimmer paper; a banner and some ice skates and a snowflake!  I added some sequins and some glimmery ribbon as well!

And here's what was inside the little bag:

My friend has a beautiful home and her favorite color is red!  I hoped she would like a little hand-knit Santa!  In hindsight, I wish I hadn't added the glitter, but she said she loved it!  If you'd like the pattern, you can find it at Garnstudio HERE.  I changed mine up a wee bit as I didn't have the right yarn for the beard, and I didn't felt mine, but I think he is still cute!  And speaking of Santa, he came a little early to Cassidy's house:

This is Eden!  Personally, I think she should be called Star...look at that little star on her chest!

Do you think Cassidy loves her?

Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Stamp Ink Paper challenge!

CASology 226 and Inspired by 34 Chalkboard Candles

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I haven't played with the CASology challenge for a long time....but the "candle" cue fit in with a birthday card that I needed to make!

I have to admit, this is the third attempt at making a CAS card with a candle on it!  I might show you one of the other ones....I think the third one just might go in the trash!  But anyway, here we go with the keeper....or the one to be sent, as it were:

I don't have too many candle stamps, but I did find one in the Sprinkles of Life set, and stamped it randomly in white on some chalkboard paper.  I added a couple of flower images from a Paper Pumpkin set and cut it all out with a Stitched Shapes circle:

I embossed a sentiment (same Paper Pumpkin set) in white on Melon Mambo, cut it into a banner, added some sequins (these are really pink, trust me!) and mounted it on a heavy white card base. I am also submitting this to the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge for this week; even though it's a Christmas scene, I am going for the chalkboard and pink!

Cassidy did some stamping for fun recently using the Snow Place set and my retired markers!

I love that she throws tradition out the window when she uses color....in her world, a Santa hat can be red and yellow and a candy cane red, white and navy blue (her favorite color, btw!):

Enjoy your day!

Stamp Ink Paper 75 Holiday Cheer

Hello again, everyone!  If you're looking for my Try Stampin on Tuesday post, it's here.

It's week three as a Stamp Ink Paper guest designer, and I am having a blast!  I love their challenges! Look at this gorgeous color combo:

One thing about being a demo for many years is that trends that faded away sometimes have a way of returning!  I still have copper embossing powder and Brushed Copper cardstock from way back when, so I pulled them out for this little number:

I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps as well as the inspiration photo from Inspired by All the Little Things:

and kept everything pretty simple so those pretty colors could shine through!  I used a bottle brush tree image from Papertrey (Joyful Christmas), stamped in Copper Encore and Pool Party inks on a square of white cardstock diecut with SU's Stitched Shapes dies:

I heat embossed the base of the tree as well as a star, which was popped up on a dimensional.  I also added some punched "ornaments" from a scrap of the Brushed Copper cardstock.  The sentiment (Verve's Joyous Noel) was also heat embossed and diecut with the same SU die set:

The vertical panel is a piece of Brushed Copper cardstock that was diecut on the edges with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders die.  And my sweet friend Jane from See Jane Stamp always uses her Papertrey Linen plate, which reminded me that I had one too....SOMEWHERE.  I found it by accident, so I used it to give my Pool Party base a little texture.  The plate has two sides, so I am not sure if this is the linen side or the canvas side...maybe someone can help me out (I think it's the canvas side!).  Finally, I heat embossed a sentiment from the same Verve set on the inside:

I hope you'll play along this week with our awesome color palette and be sure to stop by the Stamp Ink Paper blog to see the fabulous creations the DT made!!

Some more antics from Cassidy....doesn't everyone play the harmonica while lying on the kitchen floor as your grammy is trying to make dinner?

And she dressed herself today----picked out this outfit on her own----I choose my battles!  If she wants to wear florals and stripes, no big deal! At least she's color coordinated!  Enjoy your day!

Inspired By All the Little Things 31 Christmas Chickadee

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I was thrilled to be asked by my sweet friend Lesley to be a guest designer on Inspired by All the Little Things!   And check out the gorgeous inspiration I was given with which to work:

I knew immediately which image I wanted to use on my card; I got this Impression Obsession chickadee from a stamp show a few years back and I knew he would be perfect!  I stamped him on some music paper from SU's This Christmas specialty line:

After coloring him in with SU markers (Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake), I mounted the panel on a piece of Gold Foil, cutting out part of his tail for some interest.  Then I went to work making an embellishment, using a shabby bow made with some Cherry Cobbler seam binding and gold cord, and a few sprigs of "holly" cut from Garden Green cardstock using a Tim Holtz die (Holiday Greens):

The sentiment is an older one from Cornish Heritage Farms (Christmas Expressions) which I stamped in Gold Encore ink and embossed with gold embossing powder:

I stamped another sentiment from the same set on the inside and added some holly and flourish from a retired Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas set:

I hope you'll play along with our beautiful challenge this week!   You'll be happy you got started on those Christmas cards!  And thank you again, Lesley, for choosing me as your guest designer!

Last weekend Cassidy & Dana went to the Seawitch Festival at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware!  There was a parade, candy, vendors and lots of events for children!  Here, Cassidy is painting a little plaster frog for me to put in my flower garden in the spring!

And here is froggy, in all his glittery glory:

Enjoy your day!
