Paper Players 142

DSCF4297
Happy Sunday, peeps!  Are you ready for another Paper Players challenge?  That stampin’ maven Jaydee is our hostess today and she has an ultra-easy clean and simple challenge for us today:
Yep---a ONE-LAYER card!  Ooooh, sometimes that is not as easy as it seems, is it?  So it really IS a challenge!  For my card, I chose to make a birthday card using Easy Events stamped directly on Pink PIrouette:
PP142-LeAnne
This is not a full card, it’s note-card size; I used my Simply Scored to score a little rectangle in which I stamped my image using my trusty Stamp-a-ma-Jig!  To give that rectangle a little more depth, I ran a very faint line of color with an Aquapainter on the inside of the scored line.  I really like the dimension it adds!   I used my blender pen and some ink to color in the image, then added a cherry from the Itty Bitties set.  I used Dazzling Diamonds and Dazzling Details for my sparkle:

This looks good enough to eat!  SO…..how will you create your one-layer card?  Can’t wait to see what you conjure up!  Check out the others’ samples at the Paper Players blog, too!

This weekend was chilly, to say the least….not like a couple of weeks ago, when we were playing barefooted in the sandbox:

FMS68 & NAC28

DSCF2132
Happy Thursday!  I have been super busy getting ready for clubs & parties this weekend, but I had to take a few minutes to use the colors from Nacho Average Challenge
Nac28
as well as the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:
And here we go, using some new and “old” products:
DSCF2131
I did realize that the new Print Poetry DP I used is actually Gumball Green, not Lucky Limeade, but it sort of blends in, so I used it anyway!  I colored the flowers from Easy Events with ink and an aquapainter, and embossed the background with the new Cloudy Day EF.

I think this is just such a fun color combo and I know just to whom this card is going!  Email me if you have any questions!!!

Playing with pans is STILL a lot of fun!

DSCF1467

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Just a real quick card today….that’s all I am able to make these days with so many Christmas goings-on!  I used the RetroSketches sketch #41:

and made a sweet little Christmas card:

DSCF1464

I used the mistletoe image from Easy Events, masking off the sentiment and stamping it in Basic Gray.  I then colored it with ink and a blender pen, and added a little highlight with my white gel pen.  Some Be of Good Cheer DP gave it a festive look, and a little stitched ribbon and resin flower finished it off!  Any questions?  Give me a holler!

Rock star!

DSCF0659

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #15, and here’s the sketch:

I did not get Twitterpated last year, so I did a DP share this year, but this is the first time I’ve used it!  I also haven’t used the Heart Framelits too often, so when I saw the sketch, I thought I could put that to good use too!  Here is my birthday card using Easy Events:

DSCF0657

I stamped the image on Shimmery White cardstock and used an aquapainter to color the icing and cake stand, then did some paper piecing for the cupcake:

DSCF0658

I added a glimmer heart “cherry” and clear button trim….and it’s done!  Can’t wait to send it out!

Cassidy is getting a lot of playtime with her farm animals…..this time she is giving them a diaper change!!!

First we lay them out on the waterproof mat:

Get the diaper:

Lay it on top of the animals…….

Wait a minute….that doesn’t seem right.  Let’s put the animals ON the diaper:

Well, maybe we’ll use them like bookends!!!

CCMC196 & WT369

 DSCF0231
I was glancing through my Reader posts late yesterday afternoon and saw this cute, cute card from my friend Nance.  It used the sketch 196 from Create with Connie & Mary:
It made me think that I hadn’t dusted off that cute set, Easy Events, for a while, plus I needed a baby card, so I whipped this card out before heading to church for our Maundy Thursday supper:
DSCF0232
It is a note card size….it just seemed to fit the sketch better since I didn’t have a large doily die on which to mat my circle.  I colored my image with an aquapainter and reinkers; matted it with a Certainly Celery scallop punched with the 2 3/8” scallop circle punch on which I stamped A to Z in Wild Wasabi; popped up the little umbrella; and popped up a different sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I already had a piece of embossed Pink Pirouette floating around on my desk, so I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit to make a scallop border and added another little border of Marina Mist, although if I’d had time, I would have used Bashful Blue as I think it’s a little too dark for a baby card, but that’s the color I used for the water.  I also did this because the Ways to Use It Challenge 369 at SCS yesterday was to color!!!  My favorite thing!  Edited to add:  I knew I had seen a challenge to use an umbrella on your creation but I couldn't remember it....here it is!  The Little Red Wagon #127!

Mojo Monday 227

DSCF4163

I haven’t played with a Mojo Monday sketch for a long time, and I thought it was a good one for the thank you card that I needed:

I’ve been focusing on mini catalog sets, so I pulled out a set from the big catalog:  Easy Events, a wonderful set for all occasions!  I also used an interesting color combo, but I think it works!  What do you think of Certainly Celery, Island Indigo and Melon Mambo?:

DSCF4162

I did manage to use some mini catalog products though!  The Labels Framelits, the Adorning Accents Embossing Folders, and some Island Indigo DP from the Sweet Shop line!  I also used the Houndstooth embossing folder, some retired Melon Mambo ribbon and the sweet little hearts are from the Owl Builder punch---gotta love that punch!  My image was stamped in Stazon and colored with ink and a blender pen!

Since I didn’t have the baby yesterday, I pulled this picture out of the “archives”:

CAS Cupcake

DSCF8911

A quick post today---and a quick little card made with Easy Events—one of the nicest little versatile sets in the SU catalog!  This is for the SCS challenge today, which is to use a cupcake!

DSCF8912

This is a 3 1/2 x 5 notecard made from Naturals Ivory cardstock; the image is stamped on Very Vanilla and colored with an aquapainter and Baja Breeze and Real Red inks.  I added some glitter and a little heart “cherry” punched with the owl punch:

The polka dot paper is from Cosmo Cricket.  TFL!

Triple Paper Players 64

DSCF8130

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Well, fall is in the air here in PA!   The Paper Players challenge today is from our lovely Ann, and she has challenged us to use a plant or an animal on our CAS creation today!

PP64

Lesley also has a new challenge blog  called Freshly Made Sketches.  The sketches are not necessarily clean and simple, but they do need to be “clean”…no distressing or ruffles & frills!  Here is the sketch for this week:

FMSketch2

I needed a thank you card, so I pulled out some Spice Cake paper in a color I don’t normally use and challenged myself!  Here we go:

DSCF8127

The image is from Array of Sunshine (hostess set) and the background is a retired jumbo wheel.  The sentiment, stamped on a tag punched from the Jewelry Tag punch, is from Easy Events.  I liked this sketch SO much, I made another:

DSCF8132

This uses French Foliage with a bow made from the new Quilted Cherry Cobbler ribbon and a glimmer brad:

DSCF8134

and the leaf is heat embossed on Vellum cardstock:

DSCF8133

This card is also for the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge this week, which is a fall theme.

And finally, a third (I was on a roll):

DSCF8164

I was originally going to use Trendy Trees for my focal image, but I already had Easy Events sitting on my desk and I liked it with the combination of trees from Funky Forest, so I just watered colored the image in the same Old Olive.  I didn’t put the little element on the horizontal panel as in the sketch, but I am hoping the little heart counts!  I am not going to list all my ingredients, so if you have a question, please feel free to email me!

DSCF8165

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have a chance to play with the Paper Players this week, and you may even have your card be featured on our blog!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

I had the pleasure of going to a local fair with my friend Cathy on Friday—it was a beautiful chilly day, perfect for looking at cows, sheep and pumpkins!
