PP342 CAS Leaves

Hi everyone!  Sunday is here and that means another Paper Players challenge!  Jaydee is our lovely hostess with a tic-tac-toe theme!  I chose the center column:

Since I cannot seem to get my act together lately, another CAS creation is in the cards for me today! I went searching for a sketch and found this one from CAS(E) this Sketch by my sweet friend, Jen:

I took a thick white card base and masked it off, then stamped a tiny portion from the retired French Script background stamp in Cucumber Crush ink, then added some diecut Vintage Leaves:

A sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs and a few sequins, and it was done!  The inside features another leaf and a sentiment from Cottage Greetings!

Be sure to check out the PP blog where you can see ALL the creations from the Design Team...so many different interpretations of the tic-tac-toe grid!  What will YOU create?  Share it with us, please!

Mommy bought Cassidy a little Usborne art book complete with wee little rubber stamps featuring different shapes, along with some little ink pads.  There are pictures in the book that you can embellish with the shapes!  It's so cute and fun!

Here she added a bow tie (backwards, oops!) to the boy, and hairbows to the girls' hair!  It looks like so much fun, I want to play too!  I share my stamps and ink, right?!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MTS169 Avant Sugarplum

Happy Monday, everyone!  I am really running behind today; I almost didn't bother to post this card, I was so lazy!  But here it is!  I wanted to use Avant Garden and Delicate Details at least one more time before the end of SAB, and the Match the Sketch sketch seemed perfect for it:

I did some monochromatic stamping with Sweet Sugarplum ink on Sweet Sugarplum cardstock using the Avant Garden set, then ran it through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot embossing folder:

I stamped two rows of lace and the birthday sentiment from Cottage Greetings on a piece of Very Vanilla and fussy-cut the bottom and rounded the top corners.  I also added a diecut from the Flourish set of dies because I felt it needed a vertical dimension!

Another one for my birthday stash!  Thanks for popping in today!

Birthday Card in a Box

I attempted my first "card in a box"....something I've wanted to do for a long time, but never did!!  So when I saw this post, I decided to give it a whirl....got a wee bit carried away, but it was fun!  So here we go:

My box was constructed with Flirty Flamingo cardstock and Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP along with Flower Shop stamps and punch, and Flourish Thinlets.  I used the birthday sentiment from Designer Tee for the sentiment tag and a sentiment from Cottage Greetings for the flap!

Of course, with all the flourishes, I had to find a really big envelope to fit it, but I had one in my stash!  I can't wait to make another one!  And I did some fiddling with the stitched shape framelits to create rectangles!  Hopefully I can show you how to do that soon!

Cassidy went ice skating for the first time yesterday and she did really well!  Although when she came home, she did tell me she was sore all over...she did fall a couple of times!

Mommy and Wayne helped out!

Thanks for visiting today!

MTS157 and CCMC438 Birthday

Hi everyone!  I am a little late posting today....I starting a knitting project and the rest of my crafts have faded into the background, LOL!  But I roused myself and used the Match the Sketch sketch and the beautiful Create with Connie & Mary colors for a birthday card for my MIL:

CCMC438

I started with a thick white cardstock base....I already had this one scored, but I used it anyway...the fold is on the side, but that's okay!  I have been intrigued with the creations I have seen in blogland where images are stamped very faintly in a light color, then watercolored,  I'll show you my first project later in the post, but for this card, I stamped the flowers from Touches of Texture in Smoky Slate, then watercolored them with Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party inks:

I also stamped the speckles and lace image in Pool Party, then heat embossed part of the birthday sentiment from Cottage Greetings in white, and added the "happy" in FF, stamped on a Stitched Shapes oval:

It's difficult to see, but I also added some silver thread behind the sentiment and a little sliver of silver glimmer paper to the banner.  My final touch was a dragonfly, colored, cut out and popped up:

And here is the inside:

Now, here is my first attempt at this technique.  My Big Shot plates, which I have since tried to flatten out, were so warped that my die slipped, and I did not get a good cut, but I wanted to show you this little snowman from Jar of Cheer anyway:

Here's the final result....not the best, but still cute and I want to try it again!  Thanks for popping in today!

Just a few shots from Christmas morning:

Cassidy only asked for a couple of things for Christmas, and a "doll that looks like a reel baby" was one of them.....can you tell she was excited about receiving it? Love the look on her face!

Enjoy your day!

SSC138 Basket of Wishes

Hi peeps!  I am popping in mid-week with a quick card using a real clean and simple sketch from Sunday Stamps:

I needed a thank-you card, and I happened to find this scrap of DSP from the Serene Scenery pad and I thought it would be fun to stamp directly onto the paper!  So here we go:

I stamped the basket and the flowers from Basket of Wishes in black Stazon and colored them in with an aquapainter and a little ink.  The sentiment is from Cottage Greetings, stamped in Cajun Craze, and I added a little strip of Cajun Craze cardstock under each piece to accent it.  A linen thread bow finished it off.  And I stamped the basket alone on the inside in Sahara Sand, just for fun:

That's it for today!  Have a blessed one!

Cassidy and Mandy Panda went to the library, too!

Enjoy your day!

FMS243 and LRW348 Fancy Buttons

Happy July, everyone!  Wow, June just zipped by, didn't it?!  I am looking forward to a nice holiday weekend, though!  First, a little card using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch and the theme from Little Red Wagon, which is "Button it Up!".  Here's the sketch

First, I just have to confess to Brenda at LRW that it was not my intention to CASE her card as I did, but when I first saw the challenge, I immediately thought of this Papertrey set, Button Boutique, that hadn't seen ink for a looooong time!  When I went back to check the challenge, I realized I had used a lot of similar elements in my card!  So kudos to Brenda, as her card must have really made an impression!  You can judge for yourself:

Another "disclaimer"....I made this card with some pretty Graphic 45 papers my sweet friend Debbie gave me (Secret Garden); I thought this little gingham print would match the Flirty Flamingo In Color we have now....I blithely went along stamping and having fun and then when I photographed it...uh oh, those colors don't really match too well!  Oh well!  It's done and done!    So enough rambling....I stamped the button card in Calypso Coral and Flirty Flamingo, then sewed on some vintage buttons from my stash.  I don't usually use real buttons anymore on my cards because of the bulk, but since I will probably hand-deliver this card, I went for the shabby seam-binding bow as well!  I used SU's Very Vanilla and some cotton thread:

And finally, since it looked a little off-kilter, I added a needle (I probably have hundreds in my sewing stash) and used a little of the same thread:

I love this effect, even if my colors don't match, LOL!  And on the inside, I stamped some more of the elements from the set along with a sentiment from SU's Cottage Greetings:

I don't know why I haven't used this set more...it's so fun!

And speaking of fun, Cassidy and a new-found friend were having fun with some measuring cups, a few empty detergent bottles, and a bucket....who says you need expensive toys, right?!  This kept them busy for a long time!

Enjoy your day!

Foxy Catalog CASE

Hi peeps!  My card today is almost a total CASE of one from page 56 of the catalog, using the new set Foxy Friends!  I just love this set, but there are almost too many images from which to choose!  I had to look at the picture to figure out what face goes with what body and even then, I still didn't figure out how they got white ears on the sample....I guess they punched them out too!  The punch does make it fun to play with the different pieces...sort of like paper dolls, only they're paper animals!  So here we go....Smoky Slate, Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder are great colors together!

This cute paper is called A Little Foxy....isn't it sweet?  I fussy-cut the stump, mushroom and greenery to make my little scene.  I also added some new Pool Party ribbon:

and since this will be a graduation card for a sweet girl from church, I added "congrats" on the front (Cottage Greetings) and this big bold sentiment from Adventure Awaits on the inside:

I hope she likes it!

We set up Cassidy's kiddie pool last week when it was hot; with cooler weather predicted this week, she probably won't go near it!  Anyway, Grampy put her to work, bringing the air hose over from the shop....pretty smart idea!

She couldn't even wait until the water was in it to jump in!

She made sure her dolls were in on the water action too!

Enjoy your day!!!
