Three Vintage Christmas Cards

Happy Monday, peeps!  Phew, I'm beat.  It was a crazy hectic day yesterday between church and our covered dish supper, then Christmas Carol hymn sing....but it really put me in the Christmas spirit!  Today is grocery shopping and laundry....so this will be quick!  The challenge from In(k)spire Me is Retro Christmas, and Inspire.Create also wants Christmas this week!  I have had this wood mounted stamp from Inkadinkado for a long time and have never inked it up!  I actually took it off the wood block so I could use it in my Stamparatus and while I was at it, I made three!

So here we go:

I am not quite sure why the colors in my photo are really off; my images are stamped on Crumb Cake and the card bases are Cherry Cobbler, Misty Moonlight and Shaded Spruce, but it certainly doesn't look like those colors in real life, LOL!  Anyway, you get the gist.  I began by stamping them all in my Stamparatus:

Then I diecut them with a Deckled Edge Rectangle die and used a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink to give them a vintage look.  On the corners of each card, I stamped a holly image from the retired Bells & Boughs set, then mounted the image on top:

A vintage sentiment from Crafty Secrets was stamped and diecut, then added to the inside.  Simple & easy!

Thanks for popping in today..if you need any info on any of the products used, just shoot me an email!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Bells for Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps! I haven't done a Christmas card for a while, and since there were a couple of challenges out there that intrigued me, I decided to dust off an older holiday stamp and get to work!  FMS has a very cool sketch from Kim; Jingle Belles wants bells, and Krafty Chicks just wants Christmas!  And here's the sketch:

I stamped the bells and holly from Bells & Boughs, scrounged through my DSPs for some pretty plaid, and here's what I came up with:

I watercolored the image and added some Wink of Stella to the bells, which I wish you could see...so sparkly! I fussy-cut it out and mounted on top of strips of Garden Green, Real Red and Gold Foil, and Christmas From Around the World DSP:

Both sentiments, inside and out, are from Itty Bitty Christmas (SO happy that made it into the new catalog), and I stamped another image from the same set in Mint Macaron:

I love this layout, it has so many possibilities!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB69 and Jingle Belles Spirit of Christmas Past

Happy Saturday, all!  I am late posting today....no excuse except that I couldn't get to sleep last night so I stayed up too late!  Anyway, I started this card at 1:30 in the morning and just finished it, LOL  It is for the RetroRubber sketch challenge as well as the Jingle Belles Spirits of Christmas Past challenge!
RRCB 69

I couldn't pass up a vintage Christmas challenge, now could I?  I turned the sketch on its side so that I could use this Inkadinkado image; I have had this for over a year but never inked it up...so I guess I probably got it in 2015:

I stamped it in Cherry Cobbler on some My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Christmas 6x6 paper, trimming it by hand and mounting it on a panel of striped paper that was in my scrap pile!!!  The Pear Pizzazz mat was stamped with the holly image from Bells and Boughs (2010) and the "sending" is from Papertrey's Mistletoe and Holly, and I am not sure of the year of that one...maybe 2013?  I just love this sweet font:

as well as these sweet images:

and the inside features a sentiment and snowflakes from Jolly Christmas (2015):

Thanks for popping in today...be sure to come back tomorrow for a fun Paper Players challenge!

Paper Players 323 Sketch

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's time for a Paper Players challenge, and my sweet friend Sandy is our hostess with a really great sketch!  It gave me a chance to use some new goodies....I just can't help shopping early for my own Christmas gifts, LOL!

I pulled out some retired SU Christmas paper...maybe from a couple of years ago?.....and used it on a Crumb Cake card base, then added a Pear Pizzazz panel embossed with a Tim Holtz EF (Knit Set-Deer).  I used a Verve set and die (Unto Us) to stamp and cut out the deer in Early Espresso, then added some Pretty Pines cut in Old Olive and a sentiment from Bells & Boughs, diecut with a Stitched Shapes oval framelit:

As an afterthought, I liberally covered the pine branches in glue and added some Martha Stewart glitter:

and added some wide organdy Cherry Cobbler ribbon behind my sentiment.  Love the country feel to this!

I am sure you'll find a great use for this sketch...Christmas or some other occasion!  Be sure to share it with us at the Paper Players and check out what the others created as well!

A happy Thanksgiving photo!  She actually agreed to wear a dress AND put her hair in ponytails!

Enjoy your day!

Merry Monday 102

DSCF1787

Happy Monday, peeps!  How was your weekend?  I am suffering from a wee bit of a cold or allergies…so I had a sniffly weekend to go along with lots of rain!  But I was not deterred from making a Christmas card for this week’s Merry Monday challenge, which is to use or make mistletoe:

I only have a couple of mistletoe stamps, so I went to my stash of vintage Christmas postcard digital images and came up with this one from Crafty Secrets of a little girl whispering in a mistletoe-and-holly-clad Santa’s ear:

The image was pretty colorful, and I don’t usually use this many colors on a card, but I embraced them, LOL! All the papers are digital, also from CS, and  I did stamp a PTI mistletoe image in Versamark on the green panel and dabbed on some green chalk to give it a subtle look:

I added a SU sentiment from Bells & Boughs, a little twill ribbon and a button.  I used the sketch from Lesley’s Challenge #3

I hope you’ll stop by the Merry Monday blog to see the other wonderful mistletoe creations, and to share yours as well!  Hope to see you there!

I was working on some projects for an upcoming class, and Cassidy wanted to make a card too!  Here she is cutting out some flowers with the Big Shot, and she knows exactly what to do:

Merry Monday 24

 DSCF0989

Hey everyone!  It’s Monday---back to work, but also back to Merry Mondays, where we make a Christmas card a week!  Here’s Lesley’s lovely sketch:

I finally broke down and purchased this beautiful Christmas set, Bells and Boughs, and put it to use right away with this card:

I stamped and lightly colored my own background and paired it with some DP from Melissa Frances, then stamped, watercolored and fussy-cut my bells:

I added a Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon along with a little sentiment from To You and Yours (ret) stamped on More Mustard, and there, I added another card to my stash!  I sure hope that this sketch will inspire you, if you haven’t already, to get started on your Christmas cards!  Be sure to stop by the Always Playing with Paper blog to see ALL the Christmas goodness the designers are sharing this week!

We had a busy weekend of activity!  One thing we did was go to my nephew’s high school graduation party.  Cassidy was all decked out in a new outfit!  Here she is upon arrival at our house:

And then in the stroller, a short walk to my brother’s, and she was out like a shot, headed straight for the sandbox!   We did lots of other stuff this weekend, but I’ll share that later!
