52CCT Peaceful Wishes

Happy Sunday, all!  John and I are both down with coughs and colds...not fun in our household!  But it hasn't stopped me from stamping, I am just snuggled away in my craft room, honking away!  The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown had an interesting sketch; you know I love things in threes, so it certainly appealed to me:

I recently got some free dies from Scrapbook.com and had an idea to use them on my card today! Here we go:

Anyone recognize that sentiment?  It's from an old wood-mount stamp called Peaceful Wishes! It came out in 2006 and I haven't used it for years!  I stamped it in Shaded Spruce and added some diecut circles from the retired Classic Christmas DSP.  The star banner and bows were cut from some white glimmer paper; I backed the paper with an adhesive sheet to make sticking it down a bit easier!

I already had this scalloped panel cut and in my cardstock file, so I just stamped a sentiment on it from Hope & Peace and my card is good to go!  The first Christmas one of 2025!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Believe

DSCF9526

My sweet friend Wendy is hosting the Merry Monday challenge today and I just had to play along!  Here’s the fun challenge:

I pulled out an old faithful Christmas set called Peaceful Wishes and went to work.  I fussy-cut the pine cone which was stamped in Cajun Craze and popped it up after glittering it up with some orange glitter.  I also used some Heat & Stick powder to add orange glitter to a glimmer brad for my sentiment, which is from an older PTI set called Believe.  It was cut out with a Word Bubbles die, with the “hanger” cut off:

This also incorporates the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday sketch:

as well as the Kraft Journal’s challenge to use ribbon or twine.  Here’s mine:

Any questions, shoot me an email, gotta scoot!

Knitting needles and one of those big horns (Nance, I can’t remember what the name of it is!!!)…..the endless imagination of 4 year olds!

MM and TSOT

DSCF6566

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I haven’t played with my friends over at Merry Monday since leaving, so I thought it was high time I did so!  Deanne has a  a sweet “bird” challenge, and I combined it with the sketch from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday:

I have really been reaching deep into the depths of my huge Christmas stamp stash and remembered this sweet chickadee image; I believe it is from Impression Obsession:

It’s a large image, but very easy to color; I stamped him in Stazon and used SU markers to color him in.  I added a “frame” of Brushed Gold cardstock, although it’s hard to tell what color it is here, a mat of Real Red and mounted it on a cardbase of Crumb Cake, stamped with the Hardwood background.  An older retired sentiment from Peaceful Wishes was stamped at the bottom.

I added a few gold speckles to break up the white space, and a diecut bow from Lil’Inkers.  While I like the diecut, I am still on the fence as to whether or not it belongs here.  I tried a ribbon, but I just couldn’t get it to look presentable…so for now, the diecut stays!  I do love this little guy…he’s as sweet as can be!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy went to her first Build-a-Bear party recently!  (She built a dog, though!)  Gabby is a friend from pre-school and they are “best friends”, she tells me!

Merry Monday 78

DSCF8431

Happy Monday, peeps!  Are you ready for another Christmas inspiration from Lesley and the Merry Monday team?  Here you go:

I saw an interesting challenge at Less is More, which was white on white!  I wish you could see this card in real life, it is so difficult to photograph an all-white card!

I used a retired SU set called Peaceful Wishes; I stamped the pine bough in white craft ink and embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  The sentiment was stamped in Encore silver ink, and then I added a little bird diecut, embellished with a pearl.  It’s so hard to see  but maybe you can detect the sparkle here:

I also added a little scalloped line of silver glimmer paper:

And speaking of Less is More, they chose this card to highlight last week!  Happy news!  Now, let’s see what bird-embellished card you can create this week for the Merry Monday challenge!  Can’t wait to see what you create!  Check all the designs here at Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper!

Cassidy was playing with her foam shapes last week; she had to add windows to her “house”:

as well as some 3D embellishments to her castle!

And lately she really doesn’t want me to take her picture!!  Uh oh!
