52CCT Peaceful Wishes

Happy Sunday, all!  John and I are both down with coughs and colds...not fun in our household!  But it hasn't stopped me from stamping, I am just snuggled away in my craft room, honking away!  The 52 Christmas Card Throwdown had an interesting sketch; you know I love things in threes, so it certainly appealed to me:

I recently got some free dies from Scrapbook.com and had an idea to use them on my card today! Here we go:

Anyone recognize that sentiment?  It's from an old wood-mount stamp called Peaceful Wishes! It came out in 2006 and I haven't used it for years!  I stamped it in Shaded Spruce and added some diecut circles from the retired Classic Christmas DSP.  The star banner and bows were cut from some white glimmer paper; I backed the paper with an adhesive sheet to make sticking it down a bit easier!

I already had this scalloped panel cut and in my cardstock file, so I just stamped a sentiment on it from Hope & Peace and my card is good to go!  The first Christmas one of 2025!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP718 Peaceful Deer

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Wow, happy December...that month flew by!  It's my turn to be the hostess over at the Paper Players this week, and the theme I've chosen is "Be a Deer"---add a deer to your project!

It wasn't my plan to be so literal in my interpretation of the sketch, but I had a piece of Winter Meadow on my desk and I liked how it looked like a wintery sky, so I went with it!  Here we go:

I have several deer dies, but I hadn't used this Papertrey one for a while; I diecut it in white and stamped the antlers and legs in Misty Moonlight ink:

I placed him on a stitched hill then added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp along with some of the "greenery" from the same PTI set:

The background looked a little bare, so I added some glimmer stars, a couple of rhinestones and a few Poppystamps Whittle trees!  The inside sentiment is from CC Designs called Fanciful Christmas:

While I had the die out, I decided to make a second card since I just got a die I had been wanting for a long time (Michele is such an enabler!):

This time I stamped my deer in Pecan Pie on some Kraft cardstock, then added the background DSP, the double scalloped borders and a sentiment from Hope & Peace.  I am sure you'll be seeing a bit more of this fun die!  And we hope to see YOU in the Paper Players gallery, showing off your deer!  It doesn't have to be Christmas; deer are great for masculine cards, baby cards, anything!  Can't wait to see what you create! Thanks for visiting today!

The last of my "smalls"!  Now I have some bigger projects to frame or finish somehow....more work, more money, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Cardinal Trio

Happy Friday, everyone!  Phew, the weekend is here!  When I saw the sketch at AAA Cards, I knew I had to play with that little trio-inspired sketch:

I also used the colors from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

And here we go:

I used the Perennial Postage dies to cut out my "stamp", then created a stencil with an acetate sheet and sponged in some Balmy Blue ink.  The twigs are from the Winterly Tree Tops dies and the cardinals are from Poppystamps:

I did add some glitter to the twigs too!  The sentiment stamp is from Night Divine, stamped in Cherry Cobbler; the inside sentiment is from Hope & Peace:

Thanks so much for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS629 Tidings of Comfort & Joy

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have another Christmas card for you today, since I am trying to replenish my stash! It uses Amy's sketch from FMS and the designer paper challenge from Christmas Craft Creations:

So here we go, I am on a vintage roll:

I used some papers from Simple Stories' Simple Vintage Christmas....this pad is almost gone, I've used it so much!  The top border is cut from one piece; I fussy-cut around the holly at the top and I added a little Mossy Meadow panel embossed with an embossing folder that mimicked the scallop of the lace behind it.  The lower holly pattern is another piece of DSP.

I added a sentiment from Hope and Peace, diecut with a retired oval die and layered with a Mossy Meadow scallop:

A little Cherry Cobbler soft baker's twine added a bit of embellishment.  Another sentiment from the same set on the inside:

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Double the Joy

Happy Thursday, everyone!  I have two almost identical cards for you today; they are for the Color Throwdown challenge as well as the Little Red Wagon "sentimental" challenge, and I am tossing it in over at the Double D challenge of Sparkle & Shine as well:

Just a day ago, I received some beautiful Mintay Christmas papers, and they had several in pink and blue. I chose two identical snowflake patterns and used a Poppystamps die to cut out the word "Joy", then went to work:

These papers are very pale, so it's a bit challenging to see how pretty they are!  I put the blue letters on the pink card:

and the pink letters on the blue card! One I adhered flat, the other I popped up, just to see the difference!

For the blush color of the challenge, I coated a piece of Petal Pink with clear glitter to put behind the snowflake opening on each card, then added a Genial Gem to the center.  It's so pretty peeking through!  I also added some glitter ribbon on each card.

With the leftover piece of DSP, I stamped a Christmas sentiment from Hope & Peace and put on the  inside:

Thanks for popping in today!

We're so excited because I have a great-niece!  Jameson and Sawyer have a little sister, she arrived Wednesday morning early!  I will have pictures soon!  FINALLY a girl in the family!  So blessed!  Enjoy your day and be blessed too!

AHSC544 Merry Christmas

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I hope we're going to see the sun today---it's been MIA for several days and I feel like a mushroom again!  It does keep me in the craft room, though...I made another Christmas card yesterday with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for this week:

I went searching in my stash of older DSPs to find some appropriate colors for what I had in mind; here we go:

I embossed part of a Very Vanilla card with a Darice Holly embossing folder, then added strips of the printed paper.  The Tim Holtz greenery was diecut from some Tim Holtz vintage scrapbook paper; and I added some scrap "berries" from Cherry Cobbler glimmer paper.  The bow was made by simply tying some wide Cherry Cobbler in half with some floss:

My "merry" is also Cherry Cobbler; I cut three of them from cardstock and adhered them together to create a thick sentiment; the "Christmas", stamped in Mossy Meadow, is from Close to My Heart.  The inside sentiment is from Hope & Peace:

No weird fish food today...but I am glad you stopped by!  Thanks and have a blessed day!

BYSH Christmas in July

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  The week is almost half over! I have a Christmas card today for a new-to-me challenge called Build Your Stash Holiday Cards!  Their theme is Christmas in July, and although I don't think you have to use their prompt as inspiration, I liked it so much, that I did!  Here's the prompt:

(And I believe there are prizes involved!)  I used the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday:

And here we go:

I used some retired DSPs in Soft Succulent and Mint Macaron and the Cottage Wreath set, stamped in White Craft ink on Mint Macaron.  I sprinkled Heat & Stick powder on the white image, heated it up and then added some chunky glitter to make my wreath sparkle.  Some giant Specialty Glimmer paper "berries" and bow, and brown pearls completed my wreath.  I mounted on an embossed banner, then used the same set for the sentiment:

It's hard to see in a photograph, but it's quite sparkly in real life!  Everything went on a Very Vanilla card, and I stamped a sentiment from Hope & Peace on the inside:

Another for my Christmas card stash!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

52CCT23-16 Embossed Vellum Christmas Village

Happy Friday, everyone!  Yay the weekend is upon us!  I decided to try the technique challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, which is embossed vellum.

I have had mixed success with dry embossing vellum, and heat embossing usually warps my vellum too much for my liking!  But I decided to go for both, using an embossing folder called Snowy Village from Nellie's Choice and a Christmas set from SU called Hope and Peace.  I used the new Azure Afternoon ink and paper as well!  So here we go:

After embossing the vellum, I used some Craft White ink and a little water to paint in the roofs and foreground of the houses; it's rather tricky to get it to look even, LOL:

I added some Wink of Stella for sparkle, and gave it a Basic White frame, cut with the Stitched Reactangle dies. Then I decided to GO FOR the heat embossing!  And it really worked well this time:

The vellum really softens the color of the cardstock; here's the inside, using the other piece from the rectangle diecut and you can see what a bright color it is:

I do love my blue hues, so this will probably be getting a lot of use this summer!  Thanks for visiting today; enjoy it and be blessed!

FMS575 Peace on Earth

Happy Friday, peeps!  Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend! Ours is pretty quiet!  I did a bit of stamping yesterday and created a Christmas card using the FMS sketch:

I recently saw a post about embossed vellum, so I thought I would pair some sparkly DSP from Christmas with a snowflake-embossed piece of vellum and a pretty gold-embossed sentiment:

It's a bit of a challenge to see the embossing here; maybe this angle will be better:

I added a gold foil diecut border behind the black and gold DSP, and a few swirls and pearls for pizzazz!  When I first glanced at the sketch, I didn't realize the sentiment was supposed to be in the lower right corner, so after embossing the sentiment in the diecut circle, I added another tiny one, tucking it under the gold foil swirls:

A simple sentiment on the inside:

Another card for my stash!  Thanks for popping in today!

So Cassidy's been playing rec basketball; there were four teams of sixth, seventh and eighth graders, some of whom are really, really good players!  She held her own, for only just taking it up in the fall!  Last night was a playoff game and although they lost, they held the other team to only three points and they played a great game.   Here's a (very poor) photo of Cassidy taking a foul shot:

She had a really supportive coach; after the playoffs he game them each a gift: a personalized water mug with their name and number on it, and COOKIES.....look at those cute cookies!!!  Their team name was Sun:

You can tell she was excited!  And here they are...they had fun despite the loss!  They'll be even better next year!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
