Ice Cream Birthday

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I needed a birthday card for a sweet little girl at church, so I combined three challenges to creat one for her!  It uses the sketch from Retro Rubber, the recipe from As You See It and the challenge to use three different DSPs at Shopping Our Stash:

I pulled out two retired sets, Sweet Ice Cream (2021) and Time of Year (2016):

It's hard to see here, but the ice cream, cone and sentiment are all embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used papers from Authentique for the ice cream and the background panel; the gingham tag is from Bo Bunny:

I added some sequins and a few glimmer paper stars for extra pop!  I wish you could see the shine on the embossed pieces, it looks really cool!  I hope she likes it!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB160 Summer Breeze

Hi all!  We have a new Retro Rubber challenge for you, where we show some love to our older stamps!  Our theme this week is "Summer Breeze":

I pulled out Day at the Beach (2017) and stamped three of the images in colors that would match these cute trio of beachy papers from Carta Bella:

I colored in the images with Blends and fussy-cut them out, then added a "put-together" sentiment:  the "happy" is from Sweet Stuff (2014) and the "birthday" is from Time of Year (2016):

I added a few sequins from my stash, and stamped a sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday (2018) on the inside:

This was a lot of fun to stamp, and I hope you'll be able to give some of your older stamps some love as well!  Share your creation with us at Retro Rubber, and make sure your stamps are at least a year old, and tell us their approximate age!  Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

RRCB130 Country Birthday Wishes

Hi stampers!  Time for a new Retro Rubber challenge where we give our older stamps (at least a year) some love!!  We've got a fabulous sketch for you this week:

Image may contain: text

I just LOVE this sketch---I love things in threes, so this was right up my alley!  I was perusing my vast selection of 6x6 papers and came across this pretty woodgrain paper in subtle shades, already cut to size!! Woohoo!  I mounted it on a Crumb Cake card base and went to work:

My main sentiment is from a 2016 SU set called Time of Year...I stamped it in Pretty Peacock and fussy cut it out:

I am thinking it might be a little too bold for these soft colors, but it's already done, LOL!  I added a little banner from the same woodgrain paper, and stamped "wishes" on it, then added some diecut stitched stars from the same paper pack below:

I added some silver metallic pearls just for fun!  My niece's birthday is coming up and she is all about country decor, so this will be for her!

How will you interpret this sketch?  The DT has some fun ideas, you need to hop on over to the Retro Rubber blog to check them out!  Remember, your stamps have to be at least a year old, and tell us the approximate age!  Almost every SU set can be found on Splitcoaststampers in the SU Gallery, if you need help!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB116 Tic Tac Toe

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's time for another Retro Rubber challenge---a tic-tac-toe one, they're fun!  I chose the top row across for my card today!

No photo description available.

 And here we go:

I did a real simple one (again), using some new DSP called Garden Lane and an old stamp set, Time of Year, which was a hostess set from the 2016-2017 catalog.  I heat-embossed it, using my Stamparatus, Versamark ink, Mossy Meadow ink and clear embossing powder.  I apologize for the variance in colors in my photo...the one below is a bit washed out!  I used the same technique for the birthday banner, so it has a nice glossy finish, which you can't really see here, and then fussy cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals:

I mounted it on a Mossy Meadow card, then stamped a white mat with a stamp set from Watercolor Wishes (2015), along with some of the flowers in the Time of Year set, stamped in Soft Sea Foam.

I hope you'll play along with our fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week!  Check out what the other designers created and share yours with us too!  Remember, the stamps have to be at least one year old, and you must tell us the age!  See ya at Retro Rubber!

Speaking of "green", my birds, pushing seed from my feeders, have spawned a huge assortment of sunflowers....most of them are almost 5' tall and still growing, and I counted 16 flowers on one plant!

I can't wait for the to bloom!!  And then, my goldfinches will have a feast as well!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP127 All Wrapped Up

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Our latest Stamp Ink Paper challenge is a fun one---All Wrapped Up!

No automatic alt text available.

I already had this little snowman from Seasonal Chums colored and cut out, so I set out to do something with him!  The stamp presents itself as a tag, but I didn't necessarily want to use him as a tag, but I did use him as an embellishment on a little Wood Crate:

I created the crate with the Wood Crate die, using Smoky Slate cardstock and stamping the Hardwood background stamp on it with Craft White ink.  I used a few retired products to create my little "sign" in Real Red and Bermuda Bay, then added some Mini Tinsel Trim and some holly leaves from the Quilt Builder die.  The berries were created with a scrap of Real Red Glimmer paper and my 1/8" circle punch:

Last, I added a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter and some recycled tissue paper from my latest Paper Pumpkin (which I haven't even opened yet!!):

The design team has created some wonderful tags and packaging....be sure to check them out, leave some love, and share your gifty packaging with us as well!  Can't wait to see what you bring to the party!

Cassidy got her own little snowman over the weekend...unfortunately it's one of those annoying toys that mimics what you say....thank goodness there's an "off" button!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP96 CAS Wedding

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge....CAS wedding!
No automatic alt text available.

Wedding season is coming up!  Sadly, I have very few stamps that would be considered "wedding" stamps, but I did find a couple images from the retiring Every Occasion that worked!  I used the sketch from last week's Freshly Made Sketches; even though it's too late to submit, I thought the sketch was fun and worked well with my images and papers:

I just got some pretty springy papers from Bo Bunny's Petal Lane Collection and I picked out a simple stripe that would complement my heart and wedding bells:

I used a tiny bit of black for accent and used another banner from Time of Year (it was already sitting on my desk from yesterday's card!) and added some elements from The Paper Studio to complete my sentiment!  Easy and quick!  I hope you'll share your CAS wedding creations with us...be sure to check out what the other DT did as well!

Saturday was room clean-up time!  Of course, there had to be some hijinks before she got down to serious work, although she did put the clothes away that were in the basket before she got into it!  Silly girl!

And she proudly showed Grampy her room once it was done...not perfect, but we're "in training"!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP341 Redux

Hi peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend!  I had rather a lazy weekend, so my card today is a re-do of yesterday's sketch from the Paper Players! (You can see the sketch here).  I liked it so much, I made another card, this time for my BIL whose birthday is today....uh oh, it's going to be late!  Anyway, here it is, using Moroccan and Serene Scenery DSPs, Endless Birthday Wishes and Time of Year:

It's hard to see in the photo, but the base is Very Vanilla (I need to get another background for my neutral cards!) and I added some of those cool Urban Underground embellishments!  My BIL is a contractor, so he'll appreciate them, LOL!

John went to work day at church on Saturday morning, and it was gray and gloomy, so I tempted the girls with playing with the new Paper Pumpkin kit, since Cassidy enjoys painting!  I brought out all my watercolor pencils, and she wanted to do ALL of the designs!!!

I haven't made them into cards yet, but I'll try to do that this week!  Here's Cassidy's first attempt...it almost looks like her Avon Grove tie-die shirt colors!!  They really enjoyed it!

Enjoy your day and be sure to come back tomorrow for a Stamp Ink Paper challenge!  Be blessed!

MM237 and GDP076 Poinsettia Christmas

Whee, it's Wednesday...the week is half over!  AND it's March first! I am keeping up with my Christmas card-creating, so at the end of the year, I should be in good shape!  Today's card uses the Merry Monday prompt of "Shimmer and Sparkle", as well as the Global Design Project sketch, which is to CASE the talened Kylie Bertucci's card:

Stampin' Up! came out with this gorgeous poinsettia stamp a couple years ago called Joyful Christmas; I thought it would be pretty in lieu of the florals that Kylie used!  Here's my take on her sketch:

I used Versamark and Real Red ink to stamp each image on watercolor paper, then embossed them with clear embossing powder, making sure I cleaned my stamp well between each inking!  Then I watercolored the florals with Watermelon Wonder, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler inks...and you know me, I always "loosely" watercolor!

I colored the centers with a Zig Painty gold pen; added some Encore Gold speckles, gold sequins, and heat-embossed the "Christmas" from Time of Year with Encore Gold ink and Gold Glory embossing powder:

The "merry" is from a Paper Pumpkin kit, I believe from Christmas 2015.  A wee bit of gold thread peeks out from behind the sentiment as well, and I used Real Red glimmer paper for a little mat and gold foil for the card front!  Although this is a little more flashy than my usual style, I think it's pretty!  It certainly sparkles and shimmers!

Trying out a bus stop selfie with my new phone!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
