SSC353 Country Flowers Sympathy

Happy Tuesday, everyone! It's a gray, dreary day here in PA so I spent some time in my craft room as soon as I got up today, LOL!  I can hardly believe it, but my friend who just lost her husband a few weeks ago, just lost her sister as well.  So I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps to make her a sympathy card.  Here's the sketch:

What a lovely sketch....basic yet have enough detail to use some of the new goodies I recently got from the Online Exclusives selections.  Here we go:

Aren't these papers gorgeous?!  They're called Everyday Happiness, and the diecuts are called Everyday Arches.  They are AMAZING.  I diecut an arch from some of the vintage book papers I had and did a coordinating one in Lost Lagoon.  I stamped and watercolored an image from Country Flowers to add on top:

I added a sympathy sentiment from the same set, stamped in Lost Lagoon on Basic Beige:

My poor friend is so bereft; it's hard to know how to comfort her other than just to be there for her!  Thanks for popping in today!

While there is death always in our sinful world, there is also life! My niece sent me these pictures of her new baby Ava and her oldest (not-quite-three-year-old) Cole:

This one brings tears to my eyes!  How precious!  It amazes me how wee ones love babies! They just know they are something to be treasured!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TCH92 Feel Better Soon

Hello, everyone!  I haven't gotten my Country Flowers set inky for a while, and the Color Hues challenge of pink and brown got me to thinking!

So here we go:

I also used the TGIF Challenge sketch:

I began with some Pretty in Pink striped DSP, then added my Pecan Pie teapot and my pink and tan flowers:

The flowers were stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon ink so I could watercolor them in; the pot was stamped in Craft White ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  For fun, I adhered the layers of the pink DSP to a piece of white scrap paper, then ran it through the Eyelet embossing folder before adhering it to a mat of Crumb Cake. I also added some Crumb Cake leaves behind the flowers.  A sentiment from Unbounded Love and a few sequins finished it off.  This color combination kind of reminds me of Neopolitan ice cream, LOL!

The kids went to King's Dominion in Virginia over the weekend for Cassidy's birthday and did a spooky escape room:

The next day, they got stuck on a roller coaster!!! They were only a short distance from the end, but I guess they had to be rescued!  Yikes!

This is why I just watch from the sidelines, LOL! Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Sending Love

Happy Tuesday, peeps! A quick post today, no challenges, just playing around with the Country Flowers set and Country Woods DSP to make a get-well card for a friend.

I stamped the florals with black Stazon ink and used markers and ink to color them in.  They looked a little stark against the vintage background so I took a sponge dauber and daubed on a little bit of Pebble Path ink; you can't really see it here but it did add a little vintage feel to it!  I also added some Petal Pink ribbon and an Early Espresso scallop, then added a sentiment stamped on the same DSP:

I stamped a sentiment and some hearts from Choose Happy on the inside!

Thanks for popping in today!

A couple shots from our church yard sale on Saturday--the weather was stunning!

See that little white milk glass candy dish on the right side of that picture?  That went home with me, LOL!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP691 Sketch From Claire

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Claire has a lovely sketch for us this week at the Players!Players!  Check it out:

I recently got the Perennial Lavender DSP and wanted to make a vintage-hued card.  I chose a few patterns, inked up my Country Flowers stamp set and went to work:

I created my vertical panels using the retired Stitched Rectangle dies and layered them on a panel of Very Vanilla.  The floral image was stamped on Vanilla as well, using Pecan Pie ink and coloring it was ink and an aquapainter.  The pot was stamped on some retired Kraft paper and the little "joy" was from Choose Happy, and I punched it out with a retired tiny tag punch:

I did add a couple of Blooming Pearls to the center of the flowers for a wee bit of classiness!

I can see lots of possibilities with this sketch, and I hope you'll hop over to the Paper Players blog to see what the other designers did with it!  Get some inspiration, then come play along! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

A few pix from our Memorial Day parade; John marching with the (dwindling) veterans:

Our town always has a little ceremony; John is second from left:

Afterwards, a local Presbyterian church always has hot dogs, snacks and a band.  It was a beautiful day for all of it!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CASC&S537 Thanks So Much

Happy Friday, happy holiday weekend! Woohoo!  I have a very quick card today for the Clean & Simple Colors & Sketches challengenull; I am not sure it's CAS enough, but I'm going with it, LOL!  Here's the sketch:

And here we go:

Almost all the elements on this card were pieces that I had left over from another project, unused!  The florals from Country Flowers were stamped in black and watercolored with Blueberry Bushel ink.  The bold sentiment is from Love For You; I had the stamped "much" and the Basic Black silhouette diecut in my "scrap" bin.  The thanks sentiment is from Latte Love!  My banners are from Countryside Inn and Country Woods, and I added a few Neutrals sequins.

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"How clearly the sky reveals God's glory!  How plainly it shows what he has done!  Each day announces it to the following day; each night repeats it to the next.  No speech or words are used, no sound is heard; yet their message goes out to all the world and is heard to the ends of the earth."
Psalm 19:1-4

IC166 Pretty Little Country Flowers

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  I have been playing around with the Country Flowers bundle that will be available soon! These images are so fun!  For this card, I used the little kettle and the rose image in some soft hues:

I stamped both images in Smoky Slate and used Blends to color them in.  I mounted them on a diecut panel that I masked and colored with a Blending Brush and some more Smoky Slate ink:

The background is the Country Lace DSP....I am loving these patterns, so pretty!  I finished it off with a sentiment from Unbounded Love.  I left the inside blank as I thought this sentiment could be used for any number of occasions! And since this is a new bundle, I am entering it at Inspire.Create where they are looking for something new!

My friend Robyn snapped this photo of Cassidy and Robyn's grandson, Avery, at church on Sunday.  They are part of the AV team, along with Wayne and our friend Bruce.  We have a balcony in our church, which is where all the equipment is, so they get to look down on everyone at the beginning and end of each service!  As you can tell, neither Avery or Cassidy were too happy about having their picture taken, LOL!  Teenagers!

Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Flower Market Birthday

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday! I got to play with some new goodies this week; my card today features stamps and dies from the Country Woods Suite...so cute! I am using the colors from Hand Stamped Sentiments as well as the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

So here we go:

I stamped and diecut my images from Country Flowers in Early Espresso ink and colored them with reinkers and an aquapainter in the challenge colors.  I just love this little bucket!  I added some speckles from Country Birdhouse to the bucket as well as some woodgrain to the stool:

I really wanted to add some embossing, but since it's a clean-and-simple challenge, I resisted!  I stamped a sentiment from Country Birdhouse on the inside along with some more florals from Country Flowers:

I know I'm going to have lots of fun with these set!  Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
