Praise Team Thanks

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have two cards for you today, and they are both thank you cards to members of our church's praise team!  They have been faithful about sharing their music every Sunday morning for our church's live feed, and I felt compelled to tell them how much I appreciate it!  (Dana is also on the praise team....she got some homemade cupcakes instead of a card, LOL!)  I also have spent some time lately updating the database which lists (almost) all my stamp sets!  My long-time stamping friend/demo Shawn told me recently that she also lists all the sentiments that go with the stamps....quite handy if you're looking for something specific!  But also quite daunting as I have a LOT of stamps!  But anyway, I came across some stamps I totally forgot I had, so I had fun creating with some old friends!

My first card is for the team leader and guitarist; the Less is More challenge is "scribbles, drips or splats"...I just love that description!

I pulled out Fabulous Four, Epic Celebration and Gorgeous Grunge along with Garden Green and Mint Macaron inks to create his card:

This was pretty straightforward to create, the hardest part was cutting out the guitar, LOL!

The second one is for our organist/pianist.  She is quite an accomplished musician, and I wanted to create something a little more "organic"!!  I stamped a background music stamp in Sahara Sand, then overstamped some images from a long-ago set called Words of Wisdom.  The bird and verse are also from the same set:

I used the colors from the Sunday Stamps challenge:

I colored the bird with Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake inks, and the leaves are Granny Apple Green.

I distressed and sponged the edges of the white panel and mounted in on a Lost Lagoon card base and added some Lost Lagoon ribbon.  And just for fun, I added some Pineapple Punch DSP; it's not "vintage", but somehow, it seems to complement the yellow in the bird!  It felt good to use some of these older stamps!  I love my new ones, but I love the old ones too!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana got Cassidy a kit to create her own spin art machine!  How cool is that?  She followed the directions and only needed a wee bit of help from mom, and it worked!

Check out those directions---yikes!

It's all wired up, batteries in......

And we have art!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CTS259 And Leftover Sneakers

Happy Friday, peeps!  YAY, it's the weekend!  For this month's stamp club, we used SU's new blends, using the sneaker image from Epic Celebrations. Each stamper did a pair of sneakers in her own set of colors, so I had a couple of images that I demonstrated,  plus I had been practicing quite a bit, so I had LOTS of sneaker images laying around!  I loved this Pool Party pair, so I used the CAS(E) the Sketch sketch #259 for it:

And here we go:

I trimmed down my white panel on which I had stamped the sneakers, fussy-cutting them out at the bottom.  I then masked them with a post-it note and stamped the top portion with an image from Timeless Textures in Smoky Slate. I added a Smoky Slate mat, extending it below the sneakers, and stamping it with another image from Timeless Textures.

I cut the "hb" from an old set of dies called Timeless Type Alphabet and stamped them with a third Timeless Textures image in Whisper White:

A fun and funky card...not sure if it is CAS enough for the challenge, but if it's not, that's okay!

So here is the card we made at club; you can see that we had lots and lots of little black stars left over as well, so I put a couple of them on my banner too!!!

I must say that everyone did very well with the Blends and I got lots of positive comments!

Grampy got Cassidy a special Valentine card and received a big hug in return!

Thanks for popping in!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI167 Epic Sneakers

Yay, it's Friday--the end of the work week, beginning of the weekend, and time for another As You See It challenge, and this week it's a fabulous sketch!  I always love our sketches, but this one in particular has lots of fun layers and great possibilities:

No automatic alt text available.

I am still playing with Epic Celebrations from the SAB catalog and I've paired it today with some Bubbles and Fizz DSP:

This is basically a pretty simple card; I let the DSP do most of the work, but I did stamp the sneakers in Stazon ink and colored them with a Lemon Lime Twist marker, then added some shading with my aquapainter and Smoky Slate ink:

The sentiment was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink and punched out with a circle punch, they layered with a scalloped diecut mat.  My final touch was some enamel stars for a little extra oomph!  I can see me using this sketch over and over again...how about you?  Will you play along with us and share your creation?  Can't wait to see it at As You See It!

On a recent snow day, Cassidy wanted to make cupcakes.....I didn't take any photos of the finished product, but I will tell you that the icing colors were blue and purple!!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
