JAI734 New Little Birdie

Happy Saturday, peeps! Sitting here waiting for the impending snow---well, not until tomorrow but you know how it is....do we have enough bread? Milk? Books to read? Etc!  I think we're well-stocked!  I wanted to share a card I made recently which happens to fit the Just Add Ink challenge of something new:

I've been hankering to use this fun little snowbird image ever since I got it a couple months ago and finally had a chance to ink her up:

I already had my Petunia Pop inkpad on my desk from another project, so I just went with it again; the little bird image is so detailed, you could stamp it in just about any color and it would look cute:

I added some DSP and a Spotlight on Nature circle die, along with the sentiment that also comes with the Unity set called Every Step of the Way, which is the November Kit of the Month.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stay warm and safe and blessed as well!

PP698 Friends

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope your weekend is going well so far!  Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess today and it's a color theme:

I admit that at first glance, I didn't know where to go with these colors; I am in full summer mode and these didn't fit my seasonal thinking! But heaven knows I have plenty of stamps, ink and paper, so this is what finally came to mind:

This little kitten image is from a whole sheet of vintage pet images from Rare Image, sadly out of business!  I stamped them in Versafine black and watercolored them in, then added a Unity sentiment.  Each diecut circle was matted with a scallop in one of the challenge colors:

I still had some Playful Pets DSP, and I added some red & black plaid DSP from Peaceful Prints, both retired, along with a little Smoky Slate stitched border.  I had an extra plaid circle that was unused, so I added this little diecut sentiment on the inside:

This color combo is great for guys, but obviously, it can be used for lots of other occasions!  I had this card out at a stamp event yesterday and a cat-loving customer bought it! So we can't wait to see how you incorporate these colors into your creation!  Be sure to share it with us at the Paper Players!

Thanks for visiting today, enjoy and be blessed!

After all this, there is only one thing to say: Have reverence for God, and obey his commands, because this is all that we were created for.  God is going to judge everything we do, whether good or bad, even things done in secret.  Eccesiastes 12:13

PP688 Animal Antics

Happy Sunday, peeps! It's my turn to be the hostess at the Paper Players this week, and I've chosen this as our theme:

I recently saw a Unity stamp set; it was a bit pricey, but the dachshund image in it was too cute to resist!  My sister and parents all have had doxies and they are so funny....I could tell you many stories about Roscoe, my sister's dog! So anyway, here's my card honoring my family's dachsunds:

I stamped my image in Night of Navy on some Basic Beige cardstock and used a Rectangle Stitched die to cut it out:

A sentiment from the same set was stamped and diecut; I pieced together two banners end to end to put behind it.  I added a layer of the new Country Woods DSP as well as some long-retired candy dots for embellishments.  The old Sahara Sand ones match this Basic Beige pretty well!

And here's a photo of Dana and Roscoe in the backyard of my little apartment almost 40 years ago; Dana was about 18 months old and I was dog-sitting Roscoe!  We were hanging laundry while Dana enjoyed her little sippy cup sitting in my laundry basket!  The picture is not very good....no cell phone cameras in those days!  But I remember that day very clearly!  That may have been the same day he ate a tennis ball....well, that's another story!

I hope you'll play with our Animal Antics challenge at the Players this week...any animal will do!  Check out what the DT created over at the Players blog, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day!

Two CAS Cards

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Almost the weekend!  Sadly, I needed a couple of sympathy cards this week, I'll share one here;  it uses the sketch from FMS and the color palette from Color Dare:

So here we go:

The circular image is the Skeleton Leaf from Sweet n Sassy stamps; the leaves were cut from Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya and Roccoco Rose cardstocks with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves die.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts:

I stamped a simple Bible verse on the inside, it's from Stamp Simply:

My second card today is a quick Christmas card; it uses the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

I have a few rolls of washi tape that I thought would be fun to use; even the sentiment is washi tape:

I had been playing with a Spellbinder bird die, so I thought I'd make a little diecut cardinal to embellish it:

A simple sentiment from Unity Stamp was stamped on the inside:

I've already started moving my spent flower pots to behind our shed, pulling out dead flowers and such, so imagine my surprise when I went to empty our recycle and saw this little pansy popping out of a cleaned-out pot! I didn't even plant pansies this year!  I have no idea how it got there:

But it was a sweet little gift from heaven!  Thanks so much for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

"Yet, O Lord, you are our Father.  We are the clay, you are the potter, we are all the work of your hand." Isaiah 64:8

RRCB186 Sunshine & Laughter

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Doesn't it feel like Monday?  Yikes, I love long weekends but it does take a bit of adjustment to our schedules!  Well, we have a new Retro Rubber challenge for you, where we encourage you to dust off those older stamps and show them some love!  We have a sketch challenge for you (my favorites!) so here we go:

I love all the elements in this sketch!  I pulled out some older Unity stamps to create my summery card:

I stamped the image in Stazon on Thick Basic White cardstock and used reinkers and an aquapainter to color them in.  I matched up some DSP with the colors I used and happened to find a perfect sentiment in an old Hero Arts set I had, cutting it in two sections to make it fit:

I paper pieced the bathing suit too, and added some Wink of Stella but unfortunately you can't see it.  I went a little overboard with the inside; these Unity sentiments seemed fun and whimsical to add for a summer birthday:

And I am going to squeak this in just under the wire for the Seize the Birthday challenge of  summer activities!

I hope you'll be able to find some time amidst your own summer activities to play with our Retro Rubber challenge this week!  Remember to use stamps older than a year, and tell us the approximate age!  So happy you popped in today!

Wayne's family had a reunion over the weekend and they had a chance to meet Wayne's niece's new baby!  I think she was born the day after Ganae's passing, so she is a double blessing!  Cassidy was in heaven:

Dana got her baby fix too!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JUGS617 Barnyard Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend!  I have a quick card for the JUGS challenge, one I haven't played in for a long time!

I had this stamped and cut Unity image laying on my desk, unused from another challenge, so I decided to mount it on some plaid DSP, add a diecut background panel and a resin star, and it was done:

The animals were stamped in Black Stazon ink; the sentiment, from Papertrey, was stamped in Night of Navy and diecut with a Bitty Banners die:

The inside sentiment and barn are also from Papertrey!  Such a fun set!

Thanks for popping in today!

Dana did French braids in Cassidy's hair...so pretty!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

IC106 Peaceful Deer

Happy Monday, peeps!  No more DT obligations for the rest of the year, so I'll just be making cards for fun! This one is for the Inspire Create challenge, which is to use some neutral hues:

These colors reminded me that I hadn't used this Unity stamp for a while; I stamped him in Early Espresso ink on a plaid Crumb Cake DSP, then colored him with a Blender Pen and some Cinnamon Cider ink:

I added a couple of sprig stamps and the word "peace" from a CTMH set, then stamped some pine cones and greenery from another CTMH set along the edge of a Cinnamon Cider panel.  I finished it off with a piece of Early Espresso faux suede ribbon:

A few more CTMH stamps on the inside finished it off!  I love making Christmas cards!  Thanks for popping in today!

Our covenant children presented a short Nativity program yesterday at church; we haven't done something like that for a while and it was really precious and just what I needed to get into the Advent spirit.  I'll just share a few pix today, then sprinkle the rest in during the week!  Cassidy took a little lamb (our pastor's youngest) for a bathroom break before she got her costume on:

In her Mary costume:

Lined up on the stage, waiting to begin:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SSC272 Rejoice

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend! I saw a nice sketch at Sunday Stamps:

as well as a lovely inspiration photo at Inkspirational:

I was inspired by the neutral colors and the greenery on the packages and tree!  And here we go, using some papers from Photoplay and an older Unity stamp:

The image was stamped in Close to Cocoa ink and matted with some Kraft paper; I added some Linen Thread and Gilded Gems for embellishment:

The inside sentiment is from For Unto Us:

Thanks for popping in today---enjoy it and be blessed!

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

TTTC122 Birthday Chevy

Hey there, everyone!  It's Thursday afternoon and time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge!  It's Team X's turn with Betty as hostess!  I needed a very special birthday card for a very special man in our church who turned 80 years young!  The grid this week was perfect for my vintage Chevrolet card; I chose Diecut, Sentiment and Metallic:

And here we go:

I used an old Cuttlebug embossing folder to do the diamond plate embossing on a piece of Silver Foil cardstock; the Chevy image is from a Unity set called For the Guys.  I did some diecutting with some Stitched Rectangle and Stitched Shape dies, then added "hb" using an old Papertrey die:

I added two sentiments, both from Unity sets, to add a little humor to the inside!  I know he'll like it!

Hope you'll play along with our Tic Tac Toe grid this week and be sure to check out the amazing samples from our Design Team!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for popping in today!

Speaking of cars, we had a luncheon at church on Sunday for a visiting pastor, and my former shop teacher, who is now retired and mows the grass for us, showed up in THIS CAR:

It's a 1939 Ford Model A, which he restored.  He brought it to give our pastor a ride, LOL!  The cool thing is that he has a license plate on the front that shows he drove it to Kanab, Utah!!!  I wonder if he visited the Stampin' Up! factory while he was there?  (Probably not!)  It reminds me of my first bookkeeping job, which was at a Buick dealership; once a year, my boss would get out his old Buick and take us for a ride through the town of Summit, NJ!  I would love to drive this one, but no power steering or brakes...I'll just look at it!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!
