CAS Sympathy

Happy Saturday, peeps!  My friend Michele shared two beautiful cards recently using this gorgeous board from Ellen Hutson as her inspiration:

58fc33a4b2196b3d687ab65298a29cb9

Such a pretty color, I had to play along!  Unfortunately, I needed another sympathy card so I thought I would do some "florals" using Swirly Bird, which has been neglected lately:

My large circular image doesn't seem to accept the ink very well...not sure if it is the Pool Party ink or the stamp itself.  I'll have to play with it some more to see!  Anyway, I used Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise and Bermuda Bay for my flowers, masking them with a post-it note, and the leaves are Wild Wasabi; the sentiment is from an older Paper Pumpkin kit:

I stamped another flower on top of the sentiment from Thoughts and Prayers on the inside.

I am hoping I don't have to make too many more of these!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge where I am the hostess!  Have a great day!

It has been crazy warm here in PA, so Cassidy and Grampy went out before school to do some chalk artwork on the driveway!  Cassidy drew a cardinal:

Grampy chose a more manly image of a tractor trailer, LOL!

Be blessed!

Happy Saturday, peeps!  A quick post today, a card for a family that's going through a rough patch. Sketch is from Match the Sketch:

and I used some of the new papers that will be coming out in the next catalog; they're called Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Papers:

I used a sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers, stamped in Night of Navy, and the floral element is from Endless Thanks, also stamped in Night of Navy and Crumb Cake. The horizontal Pool Party panel is stamped with the retiring set Bordering Blooms.  I embossed the front with the Vine Street EF.  Thanks for popping in today!

SUNSHINE!!!!!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for my Paper Players card!

SSSC297 Sympathy

DSCF3136
Hi, all!  My sweet friend Linda lost her husband very suddenly…she is devastated, obviously.  I wish my blog friends didn’t live so far away!  I am hoping this card brings her some comfort.  I didn’t want it to be dark and somber, and I thought these papers from BoBunnys Pincushion collection were sweet:

I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge:

and a sentiment from Thoughts and Prayers.  I added a scallop, a remnant of a doily left from another project, and I used a circle punch to punch out a little heart from a scrap left from the background.  A narrow black grosgrain ribbon finished it off.

Thanks for popping in today!
It was the annual “ throw the pumpkins out in the woods” event:

First, we saved a few seeds from some of the pumpkins, then hauled them out to the woods in the garden wagon:

Happy Thursday, everyone!  The week is winding down…we are getting used to the new normal, which is always subject to change, LOL!  I loved the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week:

And although this didn’t turn out quite the way I planned, it will do!  I went with a monochromatic green color palette of Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz along with Awesomely Artistic and some English Garden dsp:

The images in this set are so pretty, you can’t go wrong with it!  I stamped a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes on some vellum and layered the element over top, then added some retired pleated ribbon.  I positioned the dragonfly right on top…and his wings are all Wink-of-Stella’ed up, but you’ll have to take my word for how pretty they are!

I added a sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers on the inside to finish it off!

Before school started, Cassidy went camping at Jellystone Park, where she posed with Yogi and Cindy!  She really had a great time there!

AYSI070 Sympathy

DSCF7418

Happy Monday, everyone!  We had a soggy weekend here in PA, and I got to do a wee bit of creating!  Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card, and I had some scraps already on my desk, so I searched for a challenge to get me started and found the As You See It challenge for this week:

070

Yikes!  But I was up for the challenge, and here is my card:

I had the embossed hearts already done but didn’t use it for the original intent, so I made a tag from it, grunged it up a bit and popped it up on the front; I did some stamping on my background DSP (a misc. piece from My Mind’s Eye, as are the others) with the Everything Eleanor set, then made a banner with the sentiment from Thoughts and Prayers:

I used shades of Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Soft Sky for my background stamping, and Basic Gray for the sentiment….I guess technically that’s four colors, hope they don’t throw me out!  I also colored some rhinestones black and placed a few strategically around the card.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Hope your week is going well!   Sadly, sympathy cards are a necessity of life, and I needed one this week.  I pulled out some Flowerpot DSP, which I don’t think I ever used, and the sketch from Mary Jo’s Technostamper challenge this week:
And here we go, using an oldie but goodie, Lovely as a Tree:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Lovely as a Tree Sympathy Stampin Up

In order to make the tree a little more visible, I inked up my stamp first in Versamark, then in Early Espresso ink, stamped on the DSP and then heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I used an aquapainter to quickly fill in the tree’s trunk with EE ink, and sponge daubered the leaves:

My sentiments are from Thoughts & Prayers, and on the inside, I stamped the tree again in Sahara Sand….I really like the soft look it creates:

Thanks for visiting today!

We made a trip last week to the local farm for some pumpkins:

Paper Players

DSCF5024

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I hope you’re enjoying your holiday weekend!  Today I am the hostess at the Paper Players, and I came up with a sketch that hopefully will spark your creative interest!  I always have lots of little scraps left over from various cards and projects, so I thought it would be fun to make a sketch that would allow you to mix and match those scraps!  Here you go!

For my card, I chose to use some Comfort Café papers to make a “comforting” card….since the colors in these are more fall-like, I haven’t used them for a while!  And because it’s retiring, it seemed a shame to not give it some love….so here we go:

PP147-LeAnne

My card base is Summer Starfruit, layered with Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze, on which I have stamped a couple of images from Day of Gratitude, which is also retiring.  I then embossed it with the Woodgrain EF, layered on my pieces, and added a little vellum tag, diecut from the Lots of Tags die set…also retiring.  This was my go-to tag set, I am so sad to not see it return!  I did add a little resin dahlia atop a NEW Very Vintage designer button….isn’t it sweet!!!

DSCF5021

And try as I may, Summer Starfruit just doesn’t want to photograph correctly with my camera, so although this looks like some brilliant yellow cardstock, it really is the interior of my Summer Starfruit card!!!

DSCF5026

I hope you’ll play along with us at the Paper Players this week and be sure to check out what all the other designers came up with using this fun sketch!! See you there!

Cassidy presented me with all kinds of photo ops the last few days!  This time, she watered my flowers for me (again, sorry for the mis-matched outfit!!!):

She waters like a pro!  And she was determined to get out every last drop!
