SC421

DSCF2686
I have not played with any challenges from SCS for a long time, but when I saw this sketch yesterday, I knew I wanted to use it!  I needed a couple of thank you cards, so I pulled out some MME Lime Twist papers, my SAB set, Bloomin’ Marvelous and a little Verve sentiment to make two cards, same sketch.  You can see the sketch here; and here are my cards:

I realize I should have used Pool Party ink instead of Baja Breeze….hope it still looks okay!  I had a chance to use one of the new Needlepoint Border embossing folders on the above card….such a pretty look!
We had mild temps yesterday so Cassidy donned her Hello Kitty boots and went outside to play in the puddles:

NAC30 and RS47

DSCF2442

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Yesterday was the start of SU’s Sale-a-bration promotion…always a fun time in the stamping world! I used one of the free sets, Bloomin’ Marvelous, to make a quick card!  I used the Nacho Average Challenge colors for this week:

Nac30

as well as the RetroSketches sketch:

to make this:

The card base is Very Vanilla; paper is from the mini….Print Poetry; all the images and sentiments are from Bloomin’ Marvelous; and the button is also part of the SAB freebie promotion!  Easy peasy!

Cassidy is nearing the age of potty training.  She knows when she is about to “go” because she usually heads for a corner somewhere.  When I found her in the stairway and I confronted her about going on the potty (and getting a special little treat), this is the look I got:

Obviously, she wasn’t having any parts of it!  Well, we’ll keep working on it!!!

ColourQ 172 Times Two

DSCF2185

It’s Tuesday, which means ColourQ day!  Here’s the happy palette Arielle has chosen for us:

I have to admit that I threw this card together rather quickly; I have lost some of my photo files mysteriously (and no, I didn’t back them up---shame on me!) so my heart just was not into stamping.  I have a couple of ideas as to how to rebuild them but I am ashamed at myself for letting it be such a big issue that I am miserable to be around!!!  I growled at DH so much, he is hiding in his man-cave!   Anyway, here’s my card…I am in need of several thank-you cards, so I may even try to make a couple more using these colors:

I stamped the Paisley image (retired SU) in Basic Gray and colored in the white areas with markers in the challenge colors.  I used the sketch from RetroSketches, :

I just cut the panel apart, mounting it on a Basic Gray panel and added my sentiment and embellishments!

Since I wasn’t really thrilled with my first attempt, I put aside my angst about the lost photos, found another sketch and did another card:

This time I used the sketch from CAS-Colors & Sketches #7:

and used the butterfly from the upcoming SAB set, Bloomin’ Marvelous!

This one makes me smile and I feel a little bit better!  Hope these colors make you smile and you can find some inspiration in them to create something as well!  Share it with us over at the ColourQ blog!

More Navitiy fun!  As usual, the box is just as important as the set itself!

RS45

DSCF2144

Yay, it’s Friday!  A tad late today but I made it….a sinus headache is making me a bit slower this week!  I am squeaking in this little notecard just in time for the RetroSketches deadline:

And really, I was just sort of playing around with the new canvas that SU has in the mini, along with an upcoming SAB set called Bloomin’ Marvelous:

DSCF2142

Remember, this is notecard size, so the proportions are a little smaller.  I had a snippet of Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon that I wanted to use, and even though the DP from Summer Smooches is Tangerine Tango, I thought they blended well.  I cut my panel from the Apothecary Accents dies, hand-cut the canvas and stitched a few little stitches, then added the ribbon & button (also available as through SAB)!  And if you look closely, you can see where I did some heat embossing in white with the leaf image from the same set on the body of the card:

It adds a nice touch without distracting from the focal point….which conveys how I feel about all my readers…..you ARE bloomin’ marvelous!  I love having you visit me!

Cassidy is learning to put on her boots “by self”:

She can do it, too!  Those little loops are they key!  Have a bloomin’ marvelous day!
