Merry Wishes

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday!  The weekend is almost here!  I have another Christmas card for you; this one uses the color palette from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, as well as the sketch from FMS:

I remembered some fun black and white papers from a couple of years ago, so I pulled them out and went to work along with some other retired goodies:

These fun little trees from the Celebrate Everything DSP were just itching to be colored in with some pink and green shades of Blends!  I heat-embossed a sentiment from Oh, What Fun and backed it with some black and white gingham.  The zig-zag Granny Apple Green border was attached at the bottom, and I added a little line of embossing on the Magenta Madness card:

I added a sentiment from More Merry Messages on the inside:

It's fun to use these retro colors for Christmas occasionally!

And since the Krafty Chicks' challenge this week is Christmas, I am going to enter it there as well!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CCCC32 Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Friday! Yay, the weekend is upon us!  My desk is covered with Christmas stamps right now, so when I saw the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge this week of "cute critters", I knew just which stamp I wanted to use!

And here we go:

I admit that this Mr Fox from Lawn Fawn is probably thinking that there is hot chocolate in his mug, but for today, we'll pretend that it's coffee!  I stamped him in Versafine Black ink and colored him with an aquapainter and inks.  I snipped a wee little snowflake from some printed paper and adhered it to his mug, and there is glitter on the snow! A pretty plaid mat and some Cherry Cobbler seam binding finished the outside:

A fun little sentiment from Oh What Fun went on the inside!

Here are a few more birthday cards from friends!  This is from my friend Karen in Florida:

And this happy one is from Tracy:

And this beauty is from Mollie:

And here's a shot of my family; Dana, Wayne and John all planned a surprise birthday dinner for me at a local restaurant...an Italian restaurant so I could have my yearly celebratory tiramisu!!  After a comical mixup of seating, the surprise was revealed and I was happy to be with them to celebrate my birthday.  A few seconds later, I felt a tap on my shoulder and my sister from South Carolina stood behind me! She flew up to PA the day before and spent a secretive weekend with Dana just to surprise me!  They REALLY got me!!  I was thrilled!  And oh my goodness, John is actually smiling, LOL! Poor guy was in torment all weekend long, keeping that secret!

Dana had another surprise up her sleeve, but I'll tell you about that much later!  Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

Letter To Santa

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I have a cute little card today; it uses the sketch from Inspire.Create and a theme from Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge:

There is lots of inspiration in the photo...I love all the red and white!  But I remembered that there is a little mailbox in the Stamped With Love set that I don't think I used but once, so I paired it with some One Horse Sleigh DSP and came up with this:

I heat embossed the mailbox in white on Sweet Sorbet and added some shading. I diecut some foliage from the Magic Meadow dies and colored them with blends to tuck behind it.  I added a Basic Borders diecut border from Shaded Spruce and embossed the top layer with the Wintery embossing folder:

The sentiment is from a retired set called Oh What Fun (I cut apart the original sentiment and added the "to"), diecut it with the Stylish Shapes dies and tucked it under a silver-edged bow.  The final embellishments were a few rhinestones at the top!

I had an extra sprig of greenery, so I added it to the inside along with a Brightest Glow sentiment:

I love the cheerfulness of this!  And I just realized this fits the criteria at As You See It:

Thanks for visiting today!

A couple of Eagles fans, just chillin'!  And they won!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Sing praise to the Lord, all his faithful people!  Remember what the Holy One has done, and give him thanks! His anger lasts only a moment, his goodness for a lifetime.  Tears may flow in the night, but joy comes in the morning.  Psalm 30:4-5

GDP398 Ho Ho Ho

Hi peeps, happy Friday!  As I was organizing some of my DSP recently, I came across some cute Christmas paper from a while back which matched some little Santas I had floating around my desk from another clean out/organizationn project!  So I decided to pair them up using the sketch from Global Design Project:

So here we go:

I just love this little Santa image...he's the cutest ever! I fussy-cut him out and layered him on some retired Let It Snow DSP, added a Real Red mat:

and a simple sentiment from Oh What Fun!:

I combined some sentiments from the same set for my inside sentiment:

Such a fun card to make!

We had a wee bit of excitement yesterday morning at breakfast.  Our patio door looks out across the farm field and we often see deer and other critters running across it.  Yesterday, I saw a deer run out of the woods, followed by what I thought was a fawn; it was a little darker than normal, so John got the binoculars and saw that it was a COYOTE!  Yikes!  We knew they were in the area, but that was the first time we'd ever seen one on our property!  It took off and chased the deer, which zigzagged across the field and back into the woods. I hope it escaped!  It happened so fast, I didn't have time to get a picture, but it probably would have been too far away anyway. But it was a bit scary! Thankfully, we have no chickens or small pets around!  Life in the country is never dull!

Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

SSC162 and JB Tic Tac Toe Santa

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  I've got a vintage-style Christmas card for you today using the Sunday Stamps sketch and the Jingle Belles Tic-tac-toe prompt:

I found this cute little Santa I had printed out from a digital file long, long ago...so long ago, I can't find him again in my computer!  He worked well with the left-hand column of red, glitter and Santa!   I adhered him to a piece of cardstock and fussy-cut him out, then mounted him on a square of Mint Macaron glimmer paper and added a sentiment and sparkly bow. The card background is a paper from KaiserCraft with a bingo card from Simple Stories.  Quick and easy, almost no stamping!

I did stamp some sentiments from My Favorite Things and Holly Jolly Greetings on the inside, and it was done!

Obviously, since Cassidy is not living with us now, it's a little harder to get photos of her...plus she just doesn't want me to take her picture!  Yesterday was "Future Career Day" at school and the students had to dress up as what they wanted to be.....and she grudgingly allowed me to take a picture of her as a future rock star!!!!  Here she is playing air guitar (although she is NOT left-handed!):

And this is her "fake" mohawk, LOL!  You can't see it but there are sparkles in her hair too...very pretty!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MTS188 Country Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps!  I have a real quick little Christmas card for you today, I would almost call this clean and simple since there is very little stamping and the layers are easy!  I used the Match the Sketch sketch:

along with a cute little Papertrey stamp set called Joyful Christmas!  Here we go:

I stamped the tree in Pear Pizzazz and the base in Always Artichoke to match the cute polka-dotted paper from Simple Stories' Handmade Holiday 12x12 pad.  I punched out a star and added a little sequin to the top, and my banner is a 2" strip of Cherry Cobbler that I punched with the banner punch:

This little sentiment from Oh What Fun just fit in there so perfectly, and it looks so nice in Cherry Cobbler on the Crumb Cake base!  I am pretty sure this will be one of the cards at my next stamp camp!

Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy was quite upset that her bike tire kept going flat....Grampy showed her how to take it off, take out the tube, then wash it with some soapy water...and sure enough, we could hear the air escaping and saw some bubbles!  A little patch and it was as good as new!  Thank heavens for all the Grampys in the world!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Paper Players 321 Sweet Treats

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's time for a color challenge at the Paper Players, with Laurie as our hostess!

I was thrilled to see this color combo, because it let me play with SU's pretty Presents and Pinecones DSP....which I resisted getting for a while, but so glad I gave in!  I chose to make a couple of treat boxes and a simple card:

We'll start with the card!  I was really just sort of playing around with the leafy images from Foxy Friends, thinking about how they could be turned into a wreath, and it didn't turn it too badly, so I went with it!  I curved the larger frond into a semi-circle and stamped it in Emerald Envy, then added the smaller frond over top in Mint Macaron.  I added a few red glimmer paper  embellishments (Pretty Pines thinlits) and the last little red pearls from my Stitched with Love card kit.  Final touch was a red bow, some speckles (Itty Bitty Backgrounds) and a sentiment from Christmas Pines:

Next up is this adorable triangle treat box!  I just love this and it is easy to make.  I found the directions HERE.  I made my box with Mint Macaron and Presents & Pinecones DSP and liberally decorated it with embellishments from Pretty Pines, some offset Stitched Shapes circles, a banner (Oh What Fun) and some beautiful Emerald Envy ribbon:

Check out those double-layered pinecones in Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper!

And here's the inside (no candy yet!), which I decorated with a sentiment from Oh What Fun:

Finally, SU has these cute little clear treat boxes, so I simply wrapped some polka dotted DSP from a couple of years ago around the center, added a sentiment and some holly (Stitched with Cheer) and filled it up with some mints:

I wrapped the top with the Candy Cane Lane baker's twine and added some of the little bells SU has in the holiday catalog...another level of sweetness!

I hope you'll play along with our fun holiday colors and be sure to check out what the other designers created at the Paper Players!

Well, it finally happened!  After hanging by a thread, Cassidy, with the help of some gum, lost her other front tooth:

I've been singing "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth" all weekend long!  Enjoy your day!
