FF0162 God Bless the USA

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I have a fun card that I made with some new goodies, as well as some old ones! I recently got this patriotic background stamp and couldn't wait to ink it up!  Here we go:

I stamped it in Early Espresso on a Basic Beige card, then did some blending with Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy, Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie inks to give it a vintage look.  I diecut two stars and layered them together, then created the "USA" with Cherry Cobbler, Basic Beige and Misty Moonlight cardstock and the Mini Alphabet dies:

On the inside, I stamped two sentiments from a really old Waltzingmouse set called USA 1776 in Real Red and Misty Moonlight, then added the fireworks in Sahara Sand:

In hindsight, I wish I had shabbied up the "USA" a little bit!  But it will have to do for now!  And I think this fits the bill at Festive Friday; I've got red, white, blue, and fireworks!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Eden is doing a little birdwatching.....can you see the bird out in the yard?

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CYCI128 Patriotic Clean and Simple

Happy glorious Monday, peeps!  The sun is shining, the air is cool and it's a beautiful day!  I made a very quick card today using the Can You Case It sketch:

CYCI#128
John's nephew is in the Navy reserves and is at Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virigina.  I totally forgot that I bought these Our Daily Bread Patriotic Collection papers, so I thought these would be appropriate for a card for a guy:

I hope he's not offput by the swirls and the little enamel star, LOL!

The sentiment is from Paper Pumpkin; the stamped star is from Every Occasion, and the stitched circle is Lil'Inker!  I lined the inside with white cardstock so John & I can each write a little something to Phil to let him know we are praying for him!

The wee one is back from vacation, fresh and ready to show us her confident bike-riding abilities!  I know...no helmet, no sneakers, and she's riding one-handed!  But just look at that smug look on her face!  And NO training wheels!  I think a bigger bike might be in order come birthday time!

Enjoy your day!

ColourQ196

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  We are about washed out here in PA….rain, rain, rain…..almost every day and yesterday, just about ALL day!  I am not complaining, there are parts of the country that have it much worse than we do….but anyway, it’s sunny and dry at the ColourQ today:
Isn’t this a sweet Jim Shore patriotic angel?  It reminded me of one of my oldest SU sets, Country Angel.  Instead of making a card, I thought I’d make a little décor item, since I have LOTS of patriotic décor, and she would fit right in:
LeAnne_CQC196
I began by stamping my angel in Stazon on some lightweight watercolor paper, then simply used an Aquapainter and inks to color her in using the challenge colors.  I cut her out and mounted her on a Crumb Cake oval that had been stamped with a vintage checkerboard image and some white stars.  I added some popped-up stars from the same set and three banners.  Finally, I used an old SU block and stamped a Waltzingmouse sentiment on it (it bled a little, but that adds to the rustic look, right?), and then had DH drill a hole so I could add my little skewered angel.  This is also for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge 83, which is "showing your heritage" with ribbon, of course!   I added some ribbons to her skewer as well as her banner.   I bent her wings up a bit, too:

I think she is pretty sweet!  What do you think?  Remember, if you have any questions, just shoot me an email….my address is at the top right sidebar!  I hope that this will tempt you to make a project with these colors---it doesn’t even have to be patriotic!  If you check out the designers’ samples at the ColourQ blog, you’ll see how some of them are not patriotic at all!  COOL!
I don’t have any Cassidy pictures today, but I do have blueberry-pickin’ pictures!  It cleared up enough on Sunday afternoon to pick about 35 pounds:

Into the freezer they’ll go….and on to our cereal all year long!  Yum!

ColourQ91 & Mojo197

CQC91 banner

Hey!  It’s Tuesday and that means ColourQ time!  Here’s Arielle’s sweet little inspiration for this week:

cqc91 I love it!  Nothing says summer like red, white & blue plaid!  I took a tiny liberty to use different shades of the challenge colors, but I think they’re close enough:

I used the circular sketch from Mojo Monday 197:

to make this birthday card for my cousin, whose birthday just happens to be on July 4!  Here’s the inside:

Instead of making my scallop card on the fold, I layered two scallops with a 2 7/8 x 2 1/2” card on the inside.  So that the card could be opened, I scored the top of the back scallop, which allows it to fold back when opening the card.

I hope you can find some inspiration from these colors and create something for the ColourQ this week!  Check out the CQC blog for all the other designers’ creations as well!  Thanks for visiting today!
