RS235

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!  Today I have an uber-simple card using the RetroSketches sketch;  haven't played with them for a long time!  Here it is:

I am trying to make a few scripture cards for an upcoming craft show; this sketch fit the bill perfectly as I let some papers from MME's My Story line do all the work!  The horizontal panel actually matches a bit better IRL; it looks rather orangey here, but it actually coordinates quite nicely.  The verse and diecut (Papertrey Lord set) are both done in Early Espresso; the card base is Pink Pirouette!

Probably one of the easiest cards I've done in a while!  And check out this Pink Pirouette cotton candy:

Yum!!  Enjoy your day!

RS227 Foxy Kitty

Hi peeps!  A fun, whimsical card today using the sketch from RetroSketches:

My sweet friend Sandy gave me a package of papers which included ribbon, DSP and brads!  I just had to use some of them to make a thank you card for her!  Sandy, this card is on its way!

I am not sure if she likes cats or not, but the sweet smile on this kitty would make anyone love her!  I stamped the images from Foxy Friends in Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip inks, then punched them out and assembled them on a scalloped circle.  I added some sequins to the card after I stamped the sentiment (A Dozen Thoughts, ret SU) and gave her a sweet little sequin and pearl necklace!

I wish you could see this paper IRL...there are gold lines in the plaid paper, and some of the flowers are FLOCKED!  SO retro and cool!  Thanks for poppin' in today!

Today is Cassidy's 6th birthday, and she has been stalking the mail lady each day this week for a card (or better yet, a package!).  So far, she's received three cards and I tried to make her wait to open them on her actual birthday, but she wasn't haven't any of it!  Here she is waiting to open the first one (it was from my dad!):

Poor thing...she's also on meds for an ear infection...not a fun thing during your birthday week, but we are pretty sure she's on the mend!

Have a blessed day!

RS217 Flourished Hello

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I am late today, but here nontheless with a card using the Retrosketches sketch for this week:

This card is a little busier than I had planned, but these new Floral Boutique papers and Flourish dies were calling my name!  So here we go:

The patterns I used for the front are the flip sides of each other, and I used a plain piece of Night of Navy for the diagonal piece and a plain Whisper White banner that was embossed with the new Seaside embossing folder!  But the Flourish diecut steals the show, IMO:

But this little bird from the Birds & Blooms thinlits might be my favorite:

Isn't he sweet?  The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases set as well.....really pretty set!  A few pearls added a little extra shine as well.   Thanks for peeking in today!

A little Candyland game with her doll as we "rest up" the ankle...not really!  She is pretty well back to her active little self although we are trying to keep her off her foot...a difficult task for a 5YO at the beginning of summer!  Thanks to all of you who offered well wishes and prayers!  They worked!

Enjoy your day!

RS205 and CCC14 Soft Christmas

Yay, it's Friday, so glad to see the weekend! I have been neglecting my Christmas cards, and I tell ya, it's tough to make a Christmas card in March when the temperatures are in the 80s!  Crazy!  But I persevered and came up with this little beauty, using papers from Kaisercraft's Silver Bells...aren't they pretty?

I used the sketch from Retrosketches and the color palette from Christmas Card Challenges:

My colors aren't exactly the same, but I hope they won't kick me out!!!  Here is a closeup; the tag is part of the 6x6 pad as well, and I used some SU ribbon and cord, along with Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper to cut the snowflake (Taylored Expressions) and Silver foil paper to cut the stars (Verve).  The sentiment is an older Flourishes:

And on the inside, a leftover star and a sentiment from Papertrey's Joyful Christmas, stamped in Regal Rose:

And switching holidays, Cassidy is decorating the little Easter tree my mom used to have:

Enjoy your day and your weekend!

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Monday happened to be a big birthday for DH!  He’s not one for lots of froufrou on his cards, so he really liked the “manly” one I made for him:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Thankful Forest Friends Stampin Up 60th Birthday

I stamped the bear from Thankful Forest Friends in Soft Suede on some textured Very Vanilla cardstock, cut him out and popped him up on VV panel and stamped my sentiment from Endless Birthday Wishes in Garden Green (don’t look at the wonky way my “birthday” stamp curved!!!  Yikes!):
DSCF2906

SU’s Little Numbers provided the “60th”, and the burlap ribbon is SU as well.  The DSP is some from my stash, Echo Park’s This & That, and it’s just about the last couple of pieces I have!!!  I used the sketch from RetroSketches:

Cassidy insisted that Grampy wear a Happy Birthday headpiece:

and couldn’t wait to “help” him open his gifts and blow out the candles!!!

And guess what Grampy has begun doing, now that he's 60?  He started taking piano lessons!  Oh boy!  Enjoy your day!

RS181 and CQC

DSCF1869

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Another sympathy card today, this one using Arielle’s Retrosketches sketch and the ColourQ color palette, neither of which I’ve played with in quite a while:

First, I flipped the sketch so my little bird wouldn’t be staring off into space!  I used a Sahara Sand card base and stamped the Dictionary background stamp on it with Versamark so it wasn’t too dark.  Then I went to work on my elements:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Bird Sympathy

I had a scrap of textured Soft Sky in my scrap pile, so I stamped it with a MFT Distressed Background Blocks stamp, then added a diecut bird and some diecut leaves from the same Lawn Fawn set as yesterday’s card:

Same Petite Pairs sentiment too, since it was already on my desk!  Thanks for visiting today!

AYSI100 Celebrate!

DSCF1285
Happy Friday, peeps!  Today is a really special day….it’s the 100th challenge for those sweet gals at As You See It!  I have really enjoyed playing with their challenges, and honored that they asked me to participate!  So here’s your inspiration:

unnamed (1)

I loved the “celebrate” in the Paper Pumpkin kit from a month or so ago, along with the balloons, so I put them to work in my sparkly square card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Pumpkin As You See It 100th Anniversary

I stamped the balloons on the back of some red glimmer paper and cut them out, then stamped the strings on some vellum, and placed it over a circle of some Everyday Chic DSP, which I also used for the other portions of my card.   I stamped the sentiment simply on a strip of Whisper White in Real Red and added some red, white and black sequins!

My sketch is from Retrosketches for this week:

I sure hope that you’ll play along with the 100th celebration at As You See It!  The challenge will last for TWO weeks, and there is BLOG CANDY!   Check what all the other designers and previous winners created as well!

Here are a couple more birthday cards; this beautiful vintage one (she knows me well) is from my customer/friend Alison:

and the sweet floral creation is from my dear friend Billie:

Thanks, girls!

MM166, RS172 & PPA259

DSCF0876

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend!  I have a quick Christmas card today using Wendy’s challenge from Merry Monday:

the sketch at Retrosketches:

and the color challenge from Pals Paper Arts:

07-09 PPA259

I only have one penguin stamp, it’s from My Favorite Things (probably retired, it’s pretty old), and I do not have any silver foil, so I used Silver Glimmer paper:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Cool Yule

I colored Mr Penguin with my SU markers and added some sparkle with Dazzling Diamonds glitter, and a diecut snowflake, cut from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper as well:

DSCF0877

And speaking of snowflakes and chilly little penguins, Cassidy went to a Frozen event yesterday:

She has been practicing her curtsy, she’s almost got it down, LOL!  Enjoy your day!
