PP470 Fluffy Little Frosty Snowman

Happy Sunday, peeps!  AND Happy December!  Woohoo!  Laurie is our Paper Players hostess with a sweet, fun theme challenge:

How cute is this little snowman?  He reminded me of a Penny Black snowman image I had, so I dusted it off, inked it up in some Weathered Wood Distress Ink and did a wee bit of watercoloring to give him some life:

For my layout, I used the Paper Craft Crew Card sketch:

Vertical Sketch Challenge with square in bottom left corner with designer series paper background on bottom one-third of the card.

I stamped my little snowman on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, trimmed out the top of his hat and then ran it through the Big Shot with the hat placed OVER the top of the die.  I then colored him with Balmy Blue, Garden Green, Flirty Flamingo and Pumpkin Pie inks and an aquapainter:

I found a couple of background papers in my stash that I thought would look good together; the blue paper even had some foil-printed snowflakes already on it!  Perfect!  I added some Silver Foil swirls and snowflakes and adhered a few silver sequins as well.  The sentiment is from an old Whippersnapper set, and believe it or not, this is NOT a Christmas card...it's a birthday card for a special someone who has a December birthday!  So I stamped this on this inside:

along with another little snowman in the corner, from the same Whippersnapper set!  I love snowmen!

I know there are lots of you out there that just love snowmen, so show us what you create at the Paper Players!  And meanwhile, check out what the DT has created over at the PP blog!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy hasn't worked on her loopy-yarn blanket for a while, so I was happy when Dana sent me these pictures!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

RRCB101 and a Winner

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  It's time for another Retro Rubber Challenge...this is the last one of this year!  Before I show you my card, though, I want to announce the winner of my blog candy from our 100th challenge!  It's #8, FIONA!!!  Woohoo!  I love her cards, too!  So Fiona, if you'll contact me (my email address is at the top right sidebar), I will get your goodies in the mail to you!

So on to this week's challenge...is this a sweet inspiration photo or what?!

Image may contain: text

I pulled out an old Penny Black set that I have had for several years and stamped, colored, and glittered this little guy:

I used Memento Black ink and SU Blends to color him in...I had a little "blip" when trying to use Wink of Stella on top of Memento ink....just take my advice, don't do it!  Or at least be very, very careful when doing it  Anyway, I covered it up with some Dazzling Diamond glitter, LOL!

The background is some CTMH glimmer paper diecut with the Swirly Snowflakes die, and I added a very old Papertrey sentiment on a stitched tag and finished it off with a (very old) glimmer brad!  It feels good to use up some of these "old" things, LOL!

I hope you'll play along with our last challenge of 2018...if you've already gotten all your Christmas cards done for this year, maybe you can start on next year's!  Or make a wintry birthday card!  At any rate, can't wait to see what you create!

John had never seen Cassidy do her karate lessons, so Friday night we watched her first night of sparring.  Not being an aggressive person by nature, it freaks me out to see them "attack" each other!  She likes it, though!

Dana happened to catch this shot as Cass was jumping; it just cracks me up!  Her instructor said that it takes most Jedis many years to perfect "floating" and Cassidy got it on the first night!! LOL!

Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

IB12 Fresh Spring

Happy Thursday, peeps!  We have a two-hour delay today because of the snow..it's pretty, but it sure throws a monkey wrench in plans we make, LOL!  Anyway, it's time for another Inspired By challenge and this week there is a prize up for grabs!  Woohoo!  You can go to the IB blog to check it out!!!  And here's my bright, cheerful, springy creation for your perusal:

And here is the challenge photo that Laurel chose for us:

SO pretty!  I couldn't resist using this cute little Penny Black chick with his daffodil "shade"...I stamped him in Stazon Black and used Daffodil Delight and Hello Honey inks to watercolor him in!  My papers are from My Mind's Eye and some retired SU in Pacific Point.  I added a few little speckles, some sequins from my stash and a pretty yellow grosgrain ribbon:

My sentiment is from Technique Tuesday...and I sure could use some "fresh sights of spring"!!!

Finally, I added a little bee on the honeycomb paper, just for fun...it's from Jar of Love, which I fussy-cut, although I realized after the fact that I have a die for it!!  Duh!

If you've been thinking about joining our challenge, this would be a great week to do so!  Check out what the others created at the Inspired By blog...you'll be wowed!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TMS396 for Baby Croghan

Hello, peeps!  Today's card is a wee bit late....it's for my sweet friend Lesley, who is having a little girl next month, and there was a blog hop for her a couple of days ago, which I TOTALLY missed!  Not sure what happened, but it's still going on, so I jumped right in!

No automatic alt text available.

and here we go!  The gallery has lots of pink---LOTS of pink, so I decided to go a different route and use blue and yellow for my card....a little untraditional, but I thought these papers were sweet, especially paired with this little Easter chick that I repurposed for a baby card!

The papers are all from Fancy Pants' Park Bench line; the horizontal panel was stamped with a Papertrey gingham stamp, just to add a little interest.  The chick image is from Penny Black, and it was stamped with Stazon ink on watercolor paper, then watercolored.  I cut part of the image out and slipped it over a stitched die before running it through the Big Shot:

I added a little sentiment from Our Daily Bread and some big enamel dots to finish it off!  I hope Lesley and Corey like it!

Speaking of chicks, Cassidy had her face painted at a local restaurant yesterday:

Cute chick!  Have a blessed day!

CTD383 and SPDSS43 Easter Chick

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend!  I did a little watercoloring yesterday on an Easter card, using another SugarPea Designs sketch as well as the Color Throwdown colors:

I wish spring would last a little longer so that I could use this little Penny Black chick more often!

I stamped him in Basic Black and watercolored him with So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cool Cucumber!  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, diecut with an Itty Bitty Banner die:

I used stitched dies from Lil'Inker and Simon Says Stamp, and DSP from Schoolhouse and the In Color Collection!  Thanks for checking it out!

Cassidy used Grampy's shovel to dig a hole and told me she wanted to plant something!  The only seeds I had were some radish seeds we never planted from last year, so I gave them to her and she planted and watered them.....we'll see what happens!!

My dad (the farmer) told me when he was younger, he loved planting radishes because they didn't take long to germinate, so I am hoping they will actually grow!  Enjoy your day!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Happy Easter Penny Black Chick and Daffodil-001

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  Thanks for all the get-well wishes!  I do feel a bit more like myself today!  I forced myself to stamp something yesterday—and I finally finished a card that I actually liked!  This is my third attempt to do the Less Is More challenge this week, which is a one-layer card featuring an animal!  I just got this cute Penny Black stamp from my girlfriend, and it seemed appropriate for the season as well as the challenge:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Happy Easter Penny Black Chick and Daffodil 2

This is a notecard-sized card, and it’s not even SU paper…I had some cheapie Georgia Pacific cardstock on my desk, so I cut it to size and stamped my image in Stazon and watercolored it, which is always a risk, as sometimes the paper will pill, but it did pretty well:

I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi inks, then stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen, rounded the corners and called it a day!  It actually was clean and simple!   Hope you like it!  Edited to add:  Thanks to Sarah, who called my attention to the AAA Cards challenge, which is "bare naked"!!!  So I am submitting this card there as well!  Thanks, Sarah!

Speaking of Easter, we did some decorating on Monday:

She did a great job putting all those little Easter ornaments on my curly-cue tree!  Enjoy your day!

ColourQ 218

DSCF9399

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Another ColourQ day, and Arielle has a fabulous one for us…these colors just make me happy!  Here ya go:

There are all kinds of inspirations in this photo aren’t there?  I chose to do something fairly simple, and I think this is one of my favorite cards ever!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings ColourQ 218 Penny Black Christmas

I used a little Penny Black image, stamping him on Shimmery White paper and coloring him simply with some Copics.  I added a little tag, a big fat gingham ribbon and a sweet little quirky sentiment, all done on a stitched diecut panel, also of Shimmery White.  Of course, I had to add a little sparkle to his hat:

Isn’t he sweet?  I can’t wait to see what you do with these beautiful, fresh holiday colors….share it with us at the ColourQ blog and be sure to check out what the other designers did as well!  Looking forward to checking them all out!  This is also for the Cue Card at CASology this week:

I showed Cassidy how to make a snowman from her homemade playdoh:

She was quite excited to add toothpick arms:

Of course, Grampy had to get in on the fun too:
