LRW693 Spring Tulips

Hello peeps!  Happy Thursday! I was trying to come up with a couple of spring projects to stamp and saw that the retired Flowering Rain Boots stamp set was available on the Clearance Rack, so I thought I'd pull it out and pair it with some springy patterns from the Dandy Designs dsp!  So here we go:

I stamped my tulips in Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent and the rain boots in Calypso Coral then cut out with the matching dies.  The sentiment was also stamped in Calypso Coral and diecut with the Stitched Rectangle die:

I added some white sequins and a sweet birthday sentiment on the inside and it was done!  I am also going to submit this to the challenge at Little Red Wagon, where they're looking for  die cuts!  So happy you visited today!

Cassidy and Dana love to take pictures of sunrises and when I saw this one this morning from my backyard, I sent it to them:

She promptly send me HER sunrise....wowza!!! The sky looked like it was on fire!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TCC172 Spring Boots

Hi stampers!  Time for a new Card Concept challenge, where we describe the concept we use to create our cards!  Here's the pretty prompt for this week's challenge:

What a pretty spring vignette!  I was enamored by those pretty boots, so here's my Clean-and-Layered card for today:

Truthfully, I had this card started with something else in mind, but when I saw the challenge photo, I changed it up a bit!  The boots were stamped in Petal Pink on some rosebud paper from BoBunny's Pincushion collection.  They are so cute, I wish I had a pair just like it!

I stamped, colored and diecut the other elements of the card:  watering can, flower pot and tulips....then layered them on a piece of Basic White cut with the Scalloped Contours dies.  I also stamped the little seed packet with Versamark ink on the Calypso Coral card base, then heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Best Year!

I also added a little bit more color on the flowers with my watercolor pencils!  This is certainly a bright card...hopefully it will cheer up the recipient!  And hopefully you'll be able to play along with us as well!  Be sure to tell us what your "concept" is (you can see the details on the Card Concept blog) as well!  Thanks for visiting today!

The drama continues....this silly pup!

She is bound and determined to stay in that wee little bed!!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CH35 Stenciled Florals

Happy Monday, peeps!  Hope you had a good weekend!  My friend Michele inspired me to try the Color Hues challenge this week:

Michele is a whiz at making stupendous floral cards, so I can't even begin to compete with hers.  But I did give it a go with SU's new stencils (ie: masks), and I really liked how this came out:

I am still struggling to get my photos to the way I like them--hopefully by Thursday I will have my own computer back---but I am hoping you can get the picture, LOL!  I stenciled the lighter layer in Blushing Bride, then added Polished Pink on top.  I used Misty Moonlight as my "navy", stenciling the leaves in that shade:

I added some pink speckles and a sentiment from Flowering Rain Boots.  And while I had my blending brushes handy, I added another little flower on the inside of my Misty Moonlight card:

I must tell you that the samples in the Color Hues gallery are stunning!  So creative!  Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC460 Brighten My Day

Happy Thursday, peeps!  I have a little card using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for this week:

I stamped, colored and die-cut the daisies and flowerpot from Flowering Rain Boots and added a sentiment from Special Moments, stamped on a piece of Soft Seafoam DSP:

I wanted to give the images a little more color, so I filled them in with a blender pen and ink:

I added the little gardening tool and seed packet as well as some Bumblebee Gingham ribbon:

It all went on a Crumb Cake card base that was embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder which I inked with Crumb Cake ink before running it through the Big Shot.  And it's already out in the mail!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI268 Watercolored Blooms

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday! It's time for a new As You See It challenge...this week's is a "Fill in the Blank"!  What is a favorite technique you use in your stamping?

I love all aspects of creating hand-stamped cards, but I do love to watercolor!  I used to joke that the reason I started stamping is because I couldn't draw, but I could certainly color in someone else's artwork!  So I was particularly drawn to line-art stamps because I could make them whatever color I wanted!  The Friendly Hello SAB set has some pretty little line-art flowers, so I stamped them in Stazon ink on watercolor paper and went to work:

I am calling this a "mini" slimline card; it measures 6" x 2.75" and worked perfectly for the Atlantic Hearts sketch for this week:

You need to use Stazon ink when watercoloring, as it is an alcohol-based ink and the water and reinkers I use to color the flower in won't cause the black ink to bleed.  I used two patterns from the Friendly Hello DSP, cut some squares and black scalloped mats, then added the watercolored and fussy-cut flowers and leaves:

I added a sentiment from the Flowering Rainboots set, and some rhinestones I colored with a black Sharpie marker:

I didn't add a sentiment to the inside; I'll leave it blank and stamp it when the occasion arises that I need a card like this!

So, what's a favorite technique of yours? I hope you'll check out what the DT shared on the As You See It blog; maybe their technique is yours too!  Share yours with us--can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for visiting today!

AYSI266 Thinking of You

Hi there peeps!  It's FRIDAY!  Yay! As I was posting this card for our first challenge of the year for As You See It, I was looking out my window and it was gray and cold...so this card will JOLT you into brightness, LOL!  First, let's look at the challenge, which is a sketch:

The Flowering Rain Boots set is probably my favorite one from the mini catalog...I only wish my poor old rain boots looked as good as these!  For some reason, I was compelled to go bright with my boots and flowers---Poppy Parade is my color of choice today:

I just think those pretty tulips needed to be in a gorgeous shade of red!  I paired a couple of DSPs together, added a little stitched line down the center, then stamped and diecut my elements and adhered them to the card front:

My sentiments are both from Special Moments; this one I stamped on a Tailor Made Tag and added some Crinkled White Seam Binding ribbon:

and on the inside, I added a couple of little seed packets! So fun!

I hope you'll find some inspiration with my sketch today---check out what the DT created over at the AYSI blog, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!
