CCMC428 and PPA322 At Christmas

Happy Friday, peeps!  Yay, it's the weekend!  I have a busy one planned, but it's all good!  But how can it be October 14 already??!!  Hope you have some fun things planned as well!  I have another Christmas card today; I was inspired by this sweet card by my friend Joanne....it is just so cute!  So this is for the Create with Connie & Mary color challenge, just like hers, as well as Susan's fun little sketch from the Pals Paper Arts:

CCMC428ppa322

So here we go:

I will admit that Sweet Sugarplum is a sadly under-used color in my cardmaking!  It's really quite pretty!  I stamped the banner from Time of Year, fussy-cut it out and put it atop a Swirly Scribbles Pear Pizzazz diecut.  I was really sad when SU discontinued Iridescent Ice embossing powder, which is what I used on my "wreath" here, but you can get a similar effect with Versamark ink, Heat & Stick Powder, and Dazzling Diamonds glitter!  I just smooshed my diecut into my Versamark pad, coated it with the EP and heated it up:

I love how it gives it a darker, sparkly look!  I stamped the holly in Pear Pizzazz and Sweet Sugarplum, trimming and gluing, then added some Pool Party strips of DSP from a few years back.  This is such a fun sketch, I love it!  I added a simple sentiment on the inside; I think it might be a bit too simple, I might have to go back and add some more holly or something!

Another card to add to my stash!

Continuing on our "Minion" day (for some reason, she kept the hood up the entire morning until she got dressed!!!), my sweet friend Sandy set her some fuzzy Jack-o-lantern stickers, so she went to work making Halloween cards for her two sets of cousins:

Despite my best efforts, she really loves coloring more than stamping, although she did do a little bit here with Jolly Bingo Bits!  I have a whole set of retired SU markers and she loves them the best!

Since she is learning to read and write, I cannot hardly get her to stamp a sentiment...she writes a whole letter on the inside; I wish I had taken a photo of it!  Other than spelling a few words wrong, she does really well.  She climbed up on a chair to look at the October calendar to see how to spell "Halloween"!  Now she knows it by heart!  She really has a giving heart, she loves to give cards and even her toys away!

Thanks for popping by today and have a blessed day!

PPA320 Fall Jar of Love

Happy Friday and happy last day of September!  I recently got the Jars of Love set...I really debated as to whether or not I "needed" it, but it has so many cute images, I broke down and got it!  I wanted to do something with fall colors, and when I saw Dawn's sketch at Pals Paper Arts, I got to work!  First, here's the sketch:

ppa-320-sep29

And here's the card:

I realize this pattern from A Little Foxy DSP is a little subdued for my jar of fall foliage, but it does give my card a bit of an organic feel!  I used Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon and Pumpkin Pie for my foliage; the jar was stamped in Basic Gray and the water is Soft Sky.  I also added some Soft Sky bees and some Smoky Slate speckles, but they're a bit hard to see:

I stamped some designs from Timeless Textures on my horizontal and vertical pieces using Versamark ink, and the sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life.  I finished it off with some silver and tan baker's twine!  I am sure I will be playing with set a lot more in the future!

Cassidy wanted to make a birthday card for her classmate Emma and we were short on time (you can tell it was after her bath!) and she found these little images from Sweet Stuff along with a Project Life card, in my scrap pile;  I had colored and cut them out but never used them, so we combined them on a Pink Pirouette card and stamped a sentiment on the front!  She hasn't quite figured out that the name on the card should be her FRIEND's name, not hers!  Oh well!  She wrote quite a sweet little note on the inside and I am sure that Emma will figure it out!  Since there was a face on the ice cream cone, she took a marker and drew a face (with glasses) on the cupcake as well!  Her little mind is always thinking!

And here's me in a little Scottish snack shop, having a spot of tea!

Thanks for popping by today!

TO66, RRCB47 and PPA318 Charmed Fall

Happy Friday, all!  I have a busy weekend coming up, so this will be short & sweet!  My card today is for three challenges:  the RetroRubber Anything Goes challenge; the Time Out photo inspiration challenge, and the Pals Paper Arts sketch!

            ppa-318-sep15

RRCB 47

I bought this "gently used" Close to My Heart stamp a couple years ago; it's called Backdrop-Charmed Holidays.  For the life of me, even after searching on the internet, I cannot find it's age, but I know it's at least two or three years old!  I inked it up with Calypso Coral ink, then added some other orange and gold shades with sponge daubers and stamped it on some woodgrain paper from Echo Park called Fall is in the Air.  I just love this paper...you'll see more of it in the future!

I stamped the sentiment from the same set on the same paper, but with the woodgrain going crosswise, and mounted it on a Cajun Craze square, then added a scalloped layer diecut with the Layering Squaes die.  I added a banner (same DSP line) that I embossed with a Darice Fall Leaves EF; since the white core showed through the lighter paper, I daubered it with some Cajun Craze ink.  I added some baker's twine to the top of my sentiment for a little embellishment.  I also stamped my Crumb Cake card base with an image from Gorgeous Grunge to follow through on the woodgrain look.

I just love this beautiful fall image!  Thanks for popping by today!

A little snack on the patio while it's still warm....fresh raspberries!  Cassidy told me her favorite way to eat them is to stick them on her fingers!  Don't you know, she ate the entire container!

Have a blessed day!

PPA313 and MTS137 Thank You

Hi peeps!  I am squeaking in this card using the Pals Paper Arts colors and Match the Sketch sketch just under the wire!

PPA-313-Aug11

I pulled out Swirly Bird and created some of my own DSP using the challenge colors.  I heat-embossed a large and small flower in white on Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach cardstock, then diecut some leaves and the border with some Flourish dies:

Since I had my white craft ink and embossing powder out, I went ahead and embossed the sentiment (Flourishing Phrases) as well!  The final touch was horizontal piece embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder!

Cassidy is back home from vacation and back to her creative self!  This time she drew a picture for her aunt (instead of eating her dinner in the background!):

It's a drawing of our sweet old kitty, Pumpkin....and Cassidy is petting her!  She hasn't quite grasped "proportion" yet....Pumpkin sort of looks like she might be a tiger, LOL!

Thanks for checking us out today!

PPA311 and CTS183

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I am back from my wee vacation and have a CAS creation for you today!  This uses the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and the colors from Pals Paper Arts:

PPA311

It's a challenge to leave your craft room with new goodies sitting unused, so I put this Inky Antics stamp set to work as soon as I got home!  The background is from Gorgeous Grunge, and the rest is pretty simple:

I did "cannibalize" my wee little birdie from the rest of the photopolymer stamp so that I could stamp him in a different color:

The set also comes with this lovely Bible verse:

Thanks for popping in today!

My MIL has decided to keep the park model RV she and my FIL had at a nice little community on the Elk River near the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, so we took a couple days to rest and relax during my birthday week!  Here's a sunset view:

Since it was HOT HOT HOT, everybody jumped in the pool as soon as we got there!  Of course, I'll share more photos later!

And since I got so many lovely cards, I will be sharing them all with you over the next few days as well!  This cutie is from my friend Martha:

And this fun-fold one is from my friend in NJ, Doris:

It features a butterfly from a Godiva wrapper and a cute little bookmark inside!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge, too!  Enjoy your day!

CCMC414 and PPA308 Birthday for Emma

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I took a couple days off from my blog and went to visit my dad at the Delaware shore!  It was a nice little break!  But today we have a birthday party for my niece's youngest....she is an Irish twin!  I had never heard of that expression before, but little Emma and her older sister Lucy will both be one year old for about six weeks, until Lucy celebrates her second birthday in August!  My niece is a trooper, keeping up with these two!  They're adorable!  Anyway, I thought the colors from Create with Connie and Mary were fun and fresh:

CCMC414

And I matched them up with the Pals Paper Arts sketch from my sweet friend Ann:
ppa308

I realized I don't have many "kids" stamps, so I pulled out my old standby, Storybook Friends, and some new Fruit Stand papers:

I stamped the image with Stazon and added some coloring with markers, then a sentiment from the same set at the bottom, along with one from an older Paper Pumpkin set at the top:

I made a "faux" candy dot with a little circle stamp and some Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers!  I also stamped the same dot and a little flower from Itty Bitties on the DSP!  Finally, the inside was stamped with a sentiment and candle from Sweet Stuff.  Oh, and I did add a Tangelo Twist ribbon too!

At one year old, I am sure Emma will be more interested in her gift than the card, but it was still fun to make!  Thanks for popping in today!

Cassidy is still on vacation, but I did hear she finally learned to ride her bike without training wheels!  Woohoo!

PPA302 Graduation Day

Happy Saturday, everyone!  This is going to be quick, as we are going to our town's annual Memorial Day parade, in which DH will be marching as well as being a part of the Honor Guard which performs the three-volley salute!  So exciting!  My card today is a graduation card for my nephew, whose school colors are green and black!  The new In Color Emerald Envy was perfect:

This is a really large card, almost 5x7"; I wanted to use the Pals Paper Arts sketch shown here:

PPA-302-May26

and it was still a tight squeeze to get all those numbers in!  My background paper is from Canvas Corp, and I used these papers last year on some grad cards and my customer gave me the leftovers!  The chevron looked great with the bold green numbers!  The "class of" is from last year's Occasions Catalog, and I just cut off the "2015".   The sentiment at the top is from Paper Pumpkin and I added a little mortarboard which was also from last year's set!

And on the inside, more Paper Pumpkin sentiments and images, and the stars from Holly Jolly Greetings!

Thanks for popping in!

Cassidy got some bath crayons and was practicing writing names on the tub wall!

This one was my favorite:

Enjoy your day!
