This is a style I often go back to - I like the crisp look of a dark color and white, with embossing. I think you can see the hearts from the Sizzix EF. Not so sure you can see the embossing on theouter circle - from the Spellbinders Majestic Elements. Some of the circles cut and emboss, others emboss only. I keep experimenting. This time I cut the appropriate circle in purple cs, then placed it so that it would emboss the design on the mat. Yeah! the size was just right - wish the embossing would show better on the screen.
The image is a pre-colored freebie - I think the site is called antique images. The sentiment could be used for different occasions, indluding a birthday.

Love, for a friend
This card will be for one of my many friends who needs hugs and prayers - too many are battling serious illness. I used the first Verve sketch for February as well as the colors - red (burgundy), pink and grey.
The upper circle is one of Spellbinders fancy circles. I had to use a circle die to cut the doily a bit - all of mine were much too large. The stamps are from Verve. I added a touch of lace and some metallic mesh ribbon.

Back to School - not yet?
Here is another color combo that has been a recent favorite - rust and yellow. The stamp is YNS - not sure he is ready for school today! The faux buttons are die cuts - done with my Cuttleabug. This is to recognize a student who has done something special.

Is this fun in the sun???
Two pink cards in a row! Amazing for me!!! I think this is a fun combo of image, sentiment, and inside verse (Things could be worse - we could be trying on bathing suits.) Just be careful of your choice of recipient! This is a rubbernecker image, colored with Prismas and gel pens, with half pearl earrings and rhinestones to embellish the tag. The DP is Paper Studio, and die cuts by Nesties I added a bit of ribbon for more pizazz. There are challenges regarding fun in the sun - as the title suggests, that could be a matter of opinion! She certainly looks skeptical.

Layered birthday
I am not much for using yellow, but this is a great shade and I like it with the floral image from Our Daiy Bread ( Birthday set). I used a new die from Cheery Lynn - called leafy wreath, but it is a border punch - though the branches can be used separately. I colored with Prismas and gel pens.
ETA: I did get help and here is the better image.
