Crafter's Cafe DT card for Challenge #219

We hope you will join us for the current two week challenge at the Crafter's Cafe.  There are several options to choose from.  You may do a shaker card, a tag, or include something I spy with my little eye ~ something beginning with M -or any combination of these.  I chose a Motivational Message from Scribbles - suitable for a graduate.
I used dies from Spellbinders.  The subtle DP is from Recollections, and the stickers from Paper Wishes. I also used bits of Washi Tape.

Crafter's Cafe DT card for challenge #189 - Humorous

The challenge this time at the Crafter's Cafe is to create a humorous project. You may enter the two week challenge up to 3 times, but limit the total challenges per entry to 10.  Check out the prizes that are available for random winners.
This is a fun image and sentiment from Eureka.  The froggie looks like he is having a lot of fun celebrating (colored with Prismas)!  The sentiment works as a focal point for a card as well.  The little flower in the corner is part of a kit I just got from PaperWishes.

HB, Hal - Final Post as GD for Scribbles Designs

For this card I used:  Birthday Cake and Hat, available at Scribbles Designs.

This is my last post as a guest designer for Scribbles Designs.  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to try new images, and for a chance to get acquainted with the team.   I have enjoyed this immensely - the time has passed all too quickly.  Thanks to everyone, especially Lisa.

This design is a bit outside of my comfort zone - I do not usually use colors quite as bright as these, but I thought the DP fit the party theme!  I colored with water color pencils and an aqua pen.  The sentiment is a metallic embellishment.  I die cut the "flower" in two colors to provide contrast.  I tried to keep a masculine look - this is already in the mail to our grandson.  He is actually in grad school (veterinary medicine) but I have overused the hunting/fishing/student themes!

Guest DT card for Scribbles Designs

Find the sentiment here:
Freebie ~  http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/Postage%20Stamp

I will be needing some anniversary cards this month, and this cute birdhouse with the cute couple will work well.  I chose a freebie, the postage stamp heart, to go with it.  This image also gave me a chance to use the Paper Studio embossing folder featuring a number of different birds. The mats are a dark olive green.
Check out the Scribbles Designs blog for current challenge and Design team opportunities.
Challenge #59, A tree-mendous Time of Year, runs until Dec. 14 at 9 p.m PST. Scribbles images are offered as prizes.

Scribbles Designs ` Guest DT card for Christmas Carol Celebration Dec. 1-5

This uses the lovely image The Tolling of the Bells, available here.

The Scribbles Design team is holding a special 5 day challenge.  Note the specifics:
Christmas is on its way and this time of year, everywhere you go or every radio you turn on, you can hear the dulcet tones of beautiful Christmas carols emanating from the speakers around you. As such, this year we want to celebrate the coming of Christmas with the theme of Christmas Carols.

Each day for the next five days at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog, you'll be given a task to do related to a Christmas Carol. Complete the task of the day and have a chance to win a special prize. This event is an extra event in addition to our challenges which will still be taking place during their regular time slots.

Day 2: The Tolling of the Bells

The word 'bell' or 'bells' is part of several Christmas carols. Many people are familiar with the song Jingle Bells, A definite classic during the holidays. However, there are some other carols both popular and more obscure where bells are featured. For your chance to win today's image, email us a list of FIVE Christmas Carols other than Jingle Bells, with the word 'bell' or 'bells' as part of the title.

Please email Lisa (DT Coordinator) at decossesdynamitedoodles@yahoo.com

All entries that contain a list of five carols with the word bell or bells will be entered into a random draw. One winner will win the image pictured above.

Back to my card.  I colored with Twinkling H2o's.  Since I started printing digis I have avoided using water based coloring due to the smearing of the ink.  I decided to try this, and - no smearing!  Has the ink formula changed?  At any rate, I like the shiny look for the bell.  The bg paper looks brown on my screen, but is actually more of a deep burgundy.   I added shiny gold ribbon and a computer generated image.

Scribbles Designs Nov. 25 Inspiration

#A 17 Leaf Doodle 4
This is my end of the month inspiration card for Scribbles.  Check out their blog for details.  The current theme is "A tree-mendous time of the year:, and you may enter up to 3 times before 9 pm PST, Dec. 14.  This doodle leaf design is such a great one for so many situations.  I chose to use it for a sympathy card.  Unfortunately, my stash needs to be replenished.
I colored the image with Prisma pencils.  The DP I used has more of a green color IRL.    The sentiment is found here.

COZY

This is the card I made for the inspiration post this week at Scribbles Designs.  This image is called Cozy.  It has already been sent, and received by our Granddaughter-in-law.  She has a beloved dog named Gracie - do you see her name?  She loved the card, and told us that Gracie's favorite spot is on the back of the sofa!  Check out the lovely inspiration photo for the weekly challenge here.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is a freebie available at the Scribbles Store.
I used papers from a DCWV Stack called Teens, and a snippet of ribbon from my stash.  I added a few bones - I have a tiny punch from the $ bin at Michaels!

Scribbles Guest design with Sunshine Mason Jar

I have an exciting announcement this morning.  For the next three months, I will be a guest designer at the Scribbles Designs Challenge.  You are welcome to check out the theme and join in the fun.  The photo above is inspiration for this challenge which ends Nov. 15.  Check out the details of the challenge here:  Scribbles Designs Challenge.Blogspot
The Scribbles shop has so many cute images, including several already filled mason jars and the corresponding sentiments.  Find them here.  For my card I added a couple of extra suns - included with the image.  I colored the image with Prisma pencils, and fussy cut the jar and the suns, then tied a bit of raffia around the neck of the jar.  (Not to worry - GDT cards do not necessarily follow the theme!)

Springtime for Design Team - Eureka Challenge #186

The challenge this week at Eureka Stamps is "spring" -Eureka Stamps.    I chose this digital image ("tulips") and paired it with a digital sentiment from Eureka.  When we lived in the midwest (Omaha) I always looked forward to seeing tulips, as they signaled the end of winter.  We are now in Arizona, where there are few if any tulips except in the flower shops!  Instead, I enjoy a variety of flowering shrubs that add color to our yard.
Image - Eureka "tulips", colored with Prismas; striped dp by Paper Pizazz.  Right now I have several sheets of this deep pink and golden yellow sitting on my desk - a favorite spring color combo.  When I saw the challenge to be inspired by a song, I thought of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" - is any one else old enough to remember the Tiny Tim version back in the 80's?

Thinking of Walt and Max

Friends from church are both experiencing health issues, so this will be sent to cheer them.  The  sentiment from Word Art is a new one for me to use, though it was on the site several months ago (I have a "stash" in my files, and not enough time to use all of them. Thank you for the great verses.)
All the other papers are from my "pieces" files.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the scalloped strip, and Nesties for the circles.  The flowers are Petaloo.  I added a scrap of gold sticker, and yellow twine.

Wine o'clock

The challenge at Art Impressions is to create a set of cards.  The Mojo sketch will be great to use for this set.  These images are from one of the AI pop ups- pre-colored punch out images.  Added dimension is from the Basic Grey chipboard sticker, the birthday embossing,  and the gems.  I also used the pinch out purse for an added layer.  The shimmery emerald cs and the clear raindrops are from the Classy Card shop.
