This week the challenge at
QKR Stampede has the option to create a
shaped card - no squares or rectangles. When I saw this image at the QKR store, I thought of making an ornament - something I rarely do. Actually, this could be used as a card, creating an ornament for the recipient. We would be pleased if you would join our challenge. You are eligible to win digis by entering up to 3 times before 6 p.m. Thursday Aug. 24. The challenge is always anything goes with an optional theme.
The image is QKR Stampede's
Mary and Joseph Circle Stamp by Eureka (sister company of QKR). If you cannot read the verse, it begins: Joseph went up from Galilee...
I used a couple of the circles from Spellbinders Majestic Elements for the outside circles.
In retrospect, I would do a bit more to visually separate the layers, I used white, burgundy and black cs, and a bit of gold paper
recycled from a gift bag. I added some
glitter to the star and the outer black circle. The "hanger" is cut using a die from Spellbinder's Banner Basics Three. I cut it twice from the gift bag paper, and again from cs. I glued this sandwich together, gluing the lower portion on either side of the ornament, and added a gold cord bow.
