Ready for spring

First of all, thoughts and prayers to all who have been experiencing such bad weather and natural disasters, as well as to the families of victims of attacks.  We used to live in Omaha so those images of flooding are especially troubling to us.
This pre-colored image from Beccy's place is a favorite even though I am not a cyclist.  She looks like she is  ready for spring, having so much fun, and is carrying her basket of goodies home from the market, perhaps.  It also gave me an excuse to use a bit of Washi tape that I have had for some time.  I also used favorite oval dies from Spellbinders and two patterned papers.

God is good

This is a statement made often by members of our church, so I decided to create a template I can use on thinking of you cards for some members.  For backing, I used some pieces from a DCWV stack I have had for a while.  There are 8 layers.  I used Spellbinder dies for the circles.

Confirmation card #2

I will send cards to the newly confirmed members of our church.  We are pretty much a very mature congregation, so it is encouraging to have younger members.  I want to show support for them whenever possible.  This is for the young man in the group.

Silhouette Christmas 2018

I tried something new for this card - I used gold sticker strips to add a border to the card.  The left side features rick rac and a couple of gold strips. The silhouette image is a Stampendous stamp and the die cuts are Spellbinders.

Last graduation card?

Hat image by QKR Stampede; star embossing folder by Cuttlebug; scallop punch;  Spellbinder circle dies; sentiment from a scrap of DP; Washi tape.
Method:  I like this idea for the right edge of the card.  As per sketch, I punched the scallops.  I wrapped a length of Washi tape (I used 3/8 inch wide) all around the inside edge of the card - so it adds interest to both the inside and the back of the card.

Design Team card for QKR Stampede challenge #299 - anything goes

I need several cards for guys in the next few weeks.  This is for my brother's birthday.  He is not especially interested in cars, but since he and the car are both "vintage" I thought it appropriate.
I used the image "old car" as well as the sentiment from QKR Stampede.  The new challenge at QKR Stampede begins now and ends at 6 p.m. EDT Thursday.  You may enter as many as 3 times, and there are separate categories for QKR/Eureka images, and for "other".  We encourage you to use your QKR Stampede/Eureka products.
I added a touch of silver (stars and cord) to the black/white theme.  The finished size is 4.5x6.25.

Note to blogger users - I have been frustrated by the lack of e-mail notices for comments.  I hope I solved the problem by writing a comment and clicking on the box that asks for e-mail notification.

Honoring Eagle Scout Daniel

The image is from a borrowed stamp whose name I have forgotten.  I die cut (Spellbinder oval) the BSA logo from the announcement of the Eagle scout induction for a nephew.  The Congrats is a Cuttlebug die cut.

Coffee Drinking non aging Maxine!

This is an image that has been in my RAK stash for a long time.  Can any one help me with the origin?  I colored her with Prismas.  The flowers are a variety of die cuts - some are Cheery Lynn.

Sympathy

Unfortunately, my supply of sympathy cards is very low, so I need to add to the selection.  This precolored digi has been in my file for quite a while - from Luna girl.  I used a golden yellow for mats, and Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and edging embossing folder for backing.   The butterfly is from C Designs, and the half pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Have a Blessed Easter

I am a bit late with the greeting - just not time to add to the blog!  We are having a good day - hubby's pain has eased a bit over the past couple of weeks and he is feeling more like getting out a little.  We attended the youth breakfast at church before services.  Otherwise it is a quiet day.  It is good to share with you the joy of the resurrection.

Belated HB, Leah

Our granddaughter was touring Europe on her birthday, so this card will be late.  I thought this castle from the SU set Provencale would be appropriate, though I am not sure whether or not she did see any castles.  I think this is appropriate for "new" challenges as she has been between seasons with her job - working on the activity staff for American riverboat cruises.  She has not yet heard her new assignment..  I used the ink pad to distress the embossing - folder by Lifestyle Crafts.  I am hoping it looks a bit like stone building blocks.  The edges of the image are also distressed.  The Granddaughter sticker is new, and the post mark sticker is from a set I found buried in one of my boxes!

Sympathy, using Blue

Unfortunately, I need to add to my stash of sympathy cards.  This older SU image is a favorite of mine - I have lost track of the name.  I used water color pencils for some subtle coloring.

quick thank you -and HAPPY NEW YEAR

I often have attractive DP that I would like to display - thanks for a sketch that allows the pattern to show!  I did switch to an oval die cut, and lowered the position, but still pretty much followed the sketch.  The sentiment QKR Stampede.  IRL the Washi tape looks better than it does on the screen!

Crafters Cafe DT card for Challenge #186 - Embossing

The theme for the current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is Embossing - wet or dry.  Easy Peasy for me - I could use an embossing folder for almost any card I make!  This time I selected the swirls (Cuttlebug) to echo one of the designs on the teacups.  The best wishes is from a Spellbinders die - and is kind of generic, when I do not know how the card will be used.  I added a crinkly embossed ribbon.  I kind of decided on red and white as the main colors thinking it could be used around Valentine's Day.  You may find details of the Crafter's Cafe challenge here, and the image, by My Stitch Back in Twine,  is available here.

Scribbles Guest design with Sunshine Mason Jar

I have an exciting announcement this morning.  For the next three months, I will be a guest designer at the Scribbles Designs Challenge.  You are welcome to check out the theme and join in the fun.  The photo above is inspiration for this challenge which ends Nov. 15.  Check out the details of the challenge here:  Scribbles Designs Challenge.Blogspot
The Scribbles shop has so many cute images, including several already filled mason jars and the corresponding sentiments.  Find them here.  For my card I added a couple of extra suns - included with the image.  I colored the image with Prisma pencils, and fussy cut the jar and the suns, then tied a bit of raffia around the neck of the jar.  (Not to worry - GDT cards do not necessarily follow the theme!)

Confirmation blessings

This is one of several cards I am making to send to 5 young women who were just confirmed in our church.  This is a special event in their faith journey, and I want to acknowledge this.  The image is one I have had quite a while from Sweet n' Sassy, and the die cut is by Cheery Lynn.  The papers are from a pad called Faith, by Paper Studio.
