For Marie Tucker

Unfortunately, I need to send another sympathy card.  Marie has a deep faith, and I hope she finds this a comforting (digi) verse.  The scroll frame is embossed on shiny silvery cs.

Confirmation 2018 - last card

This is the last of a series of cards I have made to send to members of this year's confirmation class at our church.  We are mostly mature members, and I think it is so important to do all we can to encourage the younger members.  Image - Sweet 'n sassy;  Darice embossing folder; die cut sentiment by Cheery Lynnlabels die cut by Spellbinder; Washi tape and gold ribbon.

Graduation Time! DT card for Challenge #296 - QKR Stampede - Anything goes

I will need a few graduation cards - this year I think they are all in June - seems like west coast graduations are later than those in the rest of the country!  I find cards for college graduations are more difficult than for high school - some how the cutesy ones do not work for me!  I used the image from QKR Stampede ("Cap") and printed it twice, once on white and once on dark grey.  I fussy cut both, but only did the hat in grey,  I adhered it to the white one - instant dimension.  This was pretty easy to cut.  I slit the threads in the tassel - good enough for a paper one!  The Congratulations is also a QKR digi - I just roughly cut it out and edged it with a bit of ink. I found some adhesive stars so it was not too plain.  The background is Cuttlebug's congratulations folder - I embossed from the side, and did the Congrats a second time, along the right hand side. This is a card that would work well for a young man.
Please join us this week for another Anything Goes challenge at QKR Stampede.  You may enter as many as 3 times.  There will be 2 winners of QKR digis - one for using their product, and another for any brand.  The deadline is 6 p.m. EDT, on Thursday.

Sympathy

Unfortunately, my supply of sympathy cards is very low, so I need to add to the selection.  This precolored digi has been in my file for quite a while - from Luna girl.  I used a golden yellow for mats, and Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and edging embossing folder for backing.   The butterfly is from C Designs, and the half pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Sympathy card for Janine

This card will go to a friend from church whose mother passed away this week.  Until recently, her 88 year old mother joined our quilting group to help as she was able, so this loss has touched us all.

New embossing folder

I stopped at JoAnns to look for something else and discovered the Darice embossing folders at half price - could not let that bargain go by!  I am making some cards for a local Navy mom to use to send to her son's buddies - and others.  I thought this would work for a military/masculine birthday and then later for July 4.  I highlighted with chalk and some glittery stars and sequins, and a sentiment by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I need to check to see if glitter and sequins are ok to send.  The verse inside includes a happy birthday greeting.

Adobe House - DT card for QKR Stampede ATG - challenge #281

Once again you are invited to participate in the QKR Stampede weekly Anything Goes challenge.  You have until 6 p.m. Thursday for up to 3 entries - with a chance to win some QKR digis - more, if you use an image from Eureka or QKR stampede.  This image, called Adobe House, seems especially appropriate for a resident of Arizona!   I colored with Prismas.   I used chalk for subtle highlights of the embossing and  I added a twine bow.

Sympathy remembering Wendy

Sadly, I need another sympathy card.  My sister's step daughter passed away yesterday.
This uses a stamp by SU and I can't think of the name.  I used watercolor pencils and an aqua pen for the soft look.    The die cut (Spellbinder) sentiment is from my stash,  and the embossed butterflies are a Darice folder. The gold  ribbon is new.
I am also trying to reach a goal of 300 cards for the year - I should be on track!

Sympathy - Cross and Blossoms

I will most likely use this for a sympathy card.  The stamp, one I have had for a long time, is Cross & Blossoms,  by Paper Inspirations.  I stamped it on subtly patterned paper - all in tones of blue/blue green.  The mats and leaves are a dark teal.  The strip on the left  (patterned paper) is from a set of banner dies (Spellbinder) that I have had for a while, but have not used - so they are new to me. The leaves are from a Sizzix die, and the background is a butterfly folder by Darice.

Frosty Margarita

A friend asked me to make a card to give to a member of their Friday Margarita party group - I found this colored image in clip art, and I thought the Sketch Saturday challenge sketch looked pretty festive.  I have to admit this type of sketch is pretty much out of the box for me!  The party hat is by Scribbles designs.  I chalked the Happy Birthday embossing folder before embossing.  I cut a few other tiny circles from the left over embossed piece.  I think the icy margarita adds to the frosty theme!

SCS Dare to Get Dirty - ashjoy

I have had this bicycle die for a while and am glad to have a chance to use it - inspired by the Cuttlebug Mania challenge.  I got a package of dies with no name!!!  The HI is from the Cuttlebug Olivia - an old alpha set.  I used a Darice fall scene for the background.

QKR Stampede DT card - Challenge #250 - Anything Goes; Option - Christmas in July

This week the Anything Goes challenge at QKR Stampede will give you an opportunity to get an early start on Christmas cards - the option (not required) is Christmas in July. You may enter up to 3 times before 6 p.m EDT Thursday.  The winner receives 2 images, and there are 3 images for a winner who uses a QKR or Eureka image.  For me, this QKR Stampede image (Bethlehem with verse) will be a great one for multiple cards as hubby and I want to include the Christmas message on our cards.
I opted to print the verse and image together, but they could easily be separated for a different look.  I have often used this snowflake embossing folder - I need to get one with stars!  I added gold and deep red layers as well as a Merry Christmas from QKR Stampede.  I must admit it seems a bit out of sync doing a Christmas card with temps hovering around 110!
Keep the victims of the many wildfires, as well as the firefighters, in your prayers.  Our grandson is a hot shot fire fighter stationed in Utah.

Sparkle and bling - QKR DT card Challenge #231

This week the challenge at QKR Stampede is the usual Anything Goes, with a twist - add some bling or sparkle. You may enter up to 3 times by Thursday at 6pm EST.  For me, sparkle means a wedding card!  I used this cute Wedding Cake image from QKR Stampede, and added a sentiment from Eureka.  The theme for a wedding must be love!  To reinforce that, I used my Darice heart folder for the background embossing.  I have had this roll of silver bling for some time.  The dies are Spellbinders Majestic Elements.  Shimmery silver cs for the image and card base add more sparkle.

Sympathy - for Deanna

This is another sympathy card I need this week - the third for someone from our church in just a month.
The image and sentiment are both from my stash and are items I neglected to label.  I colored with Prismas
Embossing - Cuttlebug - Swiss dots; Leaves - Sizzix.  Butterfly punches, ribbon, rhinestones. (Try as I might, I cannot get the rhinestones to show on the screen.  I used them on each of the butterflies.  They are pale pink and very shiny.

Sympathy - for Kelly's

I have needed quite a few sympathy cards the past few weeks, and my stash is empty.  This is one of my go-to styles.  I have embossed and stamped on Recollection shimmery silver cs.  The image, colored with Prismas, is Our Daily Bread.  I have several sentiments on the computer to get the size and style I would like.

SCS Faliday Fest - Texture by LMCaree

The Falliday Fest at SplitCoastStampers continues - any one can enter, and there will be prizes.  Deadline is Oct. 30- Falliday-fest-Challenge-.  Lori wants us to show some texture!  The bg is distressed stripes embossing.  I used a piece of Decorative Mesh behind the image.  (I mentioned earlier - that mesh jumped into my card at Dollar Tree!)  It ravels easily, but I hope it will stay intact as it is fastened behind the image.  Punched stars (glitter cs) and metallic ribbon complete the card.  The image is QKR Stampede, colored with water color pencils.  Yes, you have seen this image a lot - I try to use the same image on most of my Christmas cards.
