For a teacher

This has been one of those days - lots of interruptions and I lose my train of thought!  And now I see a bit of red made its way to the border - LOL!  This uses a cuttlebug die - lots of pieces to create the apple and books.  The greeting is from a neglected Just Rite set - Fancy Tags.  The border is also CB, the dragonflies (??) are Cheery Lynn, and the bg Sizzix vines. All of these Back to School challenges are especially timely - our granddaughter just started her teaching career.

Another for Dad

First of all, an update...  Please continue to pray for the people of CO who are in the midst of so many wild fires.  At last count, nearly 400 homes were destroyed in the Black Forest area, and some 39,000 people have been evacuated.   Our daughter son in law and family are still evacuated.  Fortunately, they own a fifth wheel and have parked with friends.  They are certain their house still has electricity - it is a mile or two just east of the burned area.  LATER - according to TV news, their area is being allowed back in - maybe tonight?  (Fri.)
This is a masculine card with a sentiment and verse that could be for Father's Day or simply for a special occasion.  OK, I know the paw prints are wrong - I left a lot of supplies behind when we packed the motor home for the summer (intentionally) - I guessed wrong on how much paper I would like  to have available!
Stamps:  Embossing Arts, Recollections;  DP:  Paper Studio;  border punch:  Martha Stewart;  Cheery Lynn Tiny Things with Wings dies - purchased from Joan's Gardens (there are 4 tiny dragonflies, 2 black and 2 beige); CB Distressed stripes EF, lightly sponged;  twine.

Prom Dress?

I see a dress like this (SU - Blooming with Happiness) and I think of Prom - but I doubt it would show up at any of today's festivities LOL!!!   I did all the flowers with shiny gel pens.  The DP is Paper Studio (IRL it IS pink), and the bg cs is Recollections metallic.

Fall Thanks

This looked much better in my mind than as a finished card.  Oh well...   I used bits of DaisyD dp that I have had for several years - I like it a lot but it always looks like fall, and I do not make many fall cards. The rick rack is true vintage - I got it at a yard sale and the package is marked $.25!  The flower is by Petaloo.  I embossed the gold cs with a fall leaf folder by Sizzix.
Favorite things - I have so many.  Here they are represented by the dry embossing (I doubt I could create many cards without the Cuttlebug and now the Vagabond!!); fall colors, patterned paper, and being thankful:  http://dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com/

razorback fan

One of the advantages of creating cards is to be able to do special, personalized cards.  This is for the son-in-law of friends.  I found the logo in clip art,    The lettering is Olivia (CB) and bg - Distressed Stripes.  The sentiment is 7Gypsies Library stamp.

This challenge has to do with the Olympics/sports, so I hope being a #1 fan will qualify.  I have just a hint of the Olympic colors and circles LOL!   http://craftycatzweeklychallenge.blogspot.com/
I used the third column of the TicTacToe - ribbon, distressing, and a button:  http://www.dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com/

A tribute to past generations

There are several challenges asking us to recognize important women in our lives.  I admit, this does not represent any one I know (though there is some resemblance to a couple of aunts who passed on long ago).  So it is a tribute to those many women who bring humor and friendship to our lives.
The image is paper pieced and colored with Prismas.  The DP is from a Recollections pad.  I did the sentiment on the computer. BG is the Cuttlebug happy birthday folder.
