Sept. 30 QKR Challenge #211 - Cut It Up

This week's challenge at  QKR Stampede is "Cut it up".  I did some different cuts - the die cuts for the main image, and scissor cuts for the paper pieced apron and the edging scissor cut for the tag. If you join in the challenge you can use one or more of these options - or you might choose to cut with a punch.  This is a lovely nostalgic image called Girl with a Basket.  I used papers from a DCWV stack called Heirloom.  The apron is paper pieced, and I used Prismas to color the rest.  The strip is Washi tape mounted on dark brown, and enhanced with gold and metallic cord.  I added shiny brown gems on the 3 corners.

Nostalgic Black & White

This freebie image is from A Day for Daisies.  I selected a black and white setting for it, with a bit of color on the image.  Trends:  an old trend - Swiss Dots (Cuttlebug embossing folder) - I jumped on that trend early and have not looked back!  A new trend - Shape 'n Tape - this by Lifestyle crafts.  I recently got several sheets - I have not used it until today - I am sure I will use it a lot for strips like these - time will tell if I will make good use of the supply I acquired.  I also plan to use it for some delicate die cuts that are hard to glue.  I used pieces for the bg layers, and chalk pencils to color - with a bit of glitter pen for the leaves.
EDIT:  IRL her hat is grey and her face is flesh colored  - same as the hands- sorry this looks so bad on the screen!

Ervin's birthday

Ervin's birthday

I need so many masculine cards in the near future - DH and his twin (#81!!!), and two friends next Monday.  I got this in the mail today so it should be on time.  I got a Tim Holtz set (The Journey) a while ago and have used only one stamp so this is a good time to try different views.  There is not much to explain.  The ink is Tea Dye distress ink, and I used my go-to HB folder (Cuttlebug).I added a button with some cord and a bit of washi tape.

Nostalgia in black and white

Recently friends from SCS's WishRAK group sent me lots of black and white cs and papers so I will be able to make a lot of cards using them!  This stamp came from a grab bag (unmounted) so I have no idea where it comes from.  The bg is cuttlebug Victoria.
