Christmas 2019 - shabby

The edges are shabby, and I added burlap for a shabbier look.  I think the colors and shading also add to the feel.  T he starry bg paper is from the Hope and Fauth paper pad. No red or green in sight this time!

Experimenting with Tri-fold Nativity by AI

This uses a new set, Nativity,  from Art Impressions - a prize that I just won.  It includes 4 stamps and 2 dies.  You see the 3 layers in the view above - the main stable and sentiment, the inner manger, and the baby revealed in the last view.  The two dies create openings to show the inner layers.
I used chalk and stencils for a background - in subtle colors.

SCS Tea pot party #500

Once again, I have used this Impression Obsession stamp (borrowed from a fellow stamper) to create a card for the 500th challenge at the Tea Pot Party at SplitCoastStampers. If you are looking for a heart-warming place to send your extra cards, try us out.  Each week teapotters create cards to send to someone in need of cheer and support.  (This week is a bit different - we can send to someone we personally know, and I will send this to a former member of our church who has moved due to health issues.)  The theme of the challenge is a mode of transportation - well, I am stretching that a bit, but I wanted to try out this borrowed stamp and pair it with the scripture from TLC.  I completed the card with an embossed piece, Washi tape, and shiny gems.  I also had to "stretch" the sketch due to the size of the stamp.  This is similar to a previous card, but I used white rather than beige, and the layout is different.  If you have seen both - which do you prefer?

Hearts for a TeaPot party RAK

Here is another card for the TeaPot party at SplitCoastStampers - we have a weekly challenge to send some one cheer.  I am way behind, and will use this for one of the past recipients.
The image is by Scribbles and the sentiment by QKR Stampede - though I may swap that out, depending on the situation.  I colored the hearts with various shades of Twinkling H2O inks, and used a Spellbinder Labels 4 die cut as back up.  The paper is by Paper Studio.  I think this fits as a Valentine/love greeting.

Kraft, black and white

(If this looks too dark, tilt your screen just a bit!)
This is a combination I really like - but for some reason, I struggled with this card.
Base - black cs; unnamed stamp; computer generated sentiment; Spellbinder ovals;   cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder, sheer ribbon; snippet of black and white DP.

Christmas Blessings 2017

Another design for this no name nativity die.  The bg is the Cuttlebug Star folder, and I used the Cheery Lynn Blessings die.  The oval is Kraft cs, and the bg is a rusty burgundy.

Christmas - 12-11-17

When I bought this die I thought I had a great item for this year's Christmas cards, but I find it difficult to find a design that works well.  But I do keep trying!  It does not seem to show in the photo but there is shiny gold paper behind the star at the top of the stable.  I used a snow flake embossing folder, and the distressed stripes as well.  There is a bit of DP, some burlap looking ribbon, a glittery star, and an unnamed sentiment stamp.

Scribbles Guest design with Sunshine Mason Jar

I have an exciting announcement this morning.  For the next three months, I will be a guest designer at the Scribbles Designs Challenge.  You are welcome to check out the theme and join in the fun.  The photo above is inspiration for this challenge which ends Nov. 15.  Check out the details of the challenge here:  Scribbles Designs Challenge.Blogspot
The Scribbles shop has so many cute images, including several already filled mason jars and the corresponding sentiments.  Find them here.  For my card I added a couple of extra suns - included with the image.  I colored the image with Prisma pencils, and fussy cut the jar and the suns, then tied a bit of raffia around the neck of the jar.  (Not to worry - GDT cards do not necessarily follow the theme!)

For Terry

This is another card for our son-in-law who faces a long recuperation from a massive stroke.  Since my hubby is physically unable to travel to see him, I will send a lot of cards!  It has been a long time since I have used Riley.  Since Terry is a hunter, I thought he would appreciate this recovering moose.  I got to use some papers ((K&Co.) that were part of a yard sale purchase today - with brown mats..  (Hi, Dawn!)
Over at SplitCoastStampers one of the Falliday challenges, by StampMomma, is to use a fall card to acknowledge our blessings.  We are blessed that Terry has begun his recovery.

Speedy Recovery, Dennis

This is for Dennis, a deacon at our church, who is recovering from surgery.
Image - pre-colored Dearie Doll; misc. DP from my stash, sequins; clip art school bell.
(There is an inside joke for the bell.  My hubby has had very limited mobility for a year and a half due to severe back pain.  He sometimes needs some assistance, and I may have trouble hearing him.  He can use one of my school bells to call me.  Dennis gives us a great deal of grief about this!!!  So we offered to lend one to him.)
ETA:  Dennis has had a setback and returned to the hospital.  Please say a prayer for his recovery, if you are so inclined.

Thank you in brown and teal

Challenges asking for favorites create a dilemma for me - often my favorites change daily or even hourly!  I hope you will forgive my inconsistency.
DP - several pieces from DCWV Garden Party pad; SU stamp, teal tear drops by Fiskars; chocolate half pearls by Pizzazz Aplenty; Nesties circles. (The tear drops are nearly invisible in the upper right.)

Thanks, Evelyn

This is for a friend who did a favor for me - I left the inside blank so she can in turn give it to someone. The materials, including the image, came from my stash.  I have a folder full of images - some colored, others ready to color.  I selected papers and Prisma colors for the YNS color challenge - blues and greens.  The heart is a Basic Grey chipboard die cut.

3-D tree

The tree is made with quite a few Cheery Lynn die cut pine branches, decorated with star stickers.  The background uses an  embossing folder - as I recall, Nellie Snellen's (no label!).  Bits of glitter create some falling snow.
