Christmas 2017 - Easel card

This is why I do not usually take photos to upload - scanning works so much better for me.  The colors are so unreal - but the card went in the mail yesterday so I cannot re do it.  IRL the main color is a lovey dark burgundy, and the die cut is Kraft.  Oh, well - use your imagination.  Both die cuts are from unnamed dies.  Inside I have a pocket for the enclosed check.  Thanks to Lois Bak for the reminder tutorial on making the easel design - her DT sample is on the Scor-Pal blog (see below).

Christmas Blessings 2017

Another design for this no name nativity die.  The bg is the Cuttlebug Star folder, and I used the Cheery Lynn Blessings die.  The oval is Kraft cs, and the bg is a rusty burgundy.

Christmas - 12-11-17

When I bought this die I thought I had a great item for this year's Christmas cards, but I find it difficult to find a design that works well.  But I do keep trying!  It does not seem to show in the photo but there is shiny gold paper behind the star at the top of the stable.  I used a snow flake embossing folder, and the distressed stripes as well.  There is a bit of DP, some burlap looking ribbon, a glittery star, and an unnamed sentiment stamp.

Christmas 2017 - recycled

Here is another example of my quest to use some of the old Christmas cards I want to recycle  The red, the image and sentiment were original;  I added the circle frame and pine branches in gold cs.  I used a couple of the negative bits from the Cheery Lynn pine die to place in the corners.

Christmas '17; Recycled

This year I have planned to be on a bit of a mission when it comes to making my Christmas cards.  I have been saving cards for a while, and a couple of friends have given me cards - all intended for recycling.  It is time to get to it!  One of the biggest challenges is to find a shape to work with sketches - since I prefer to start with a sketch challenge.  Also, I want to make the card look finished.  I may scout around to find some good recycling ideas!  I purchased a pack of these green card bases with envelopes at a Christmas clearance last year - they are 5x6.5.   For this card the shabby, vintage look leafy wreath and circle are recycled from one card..  I added Washi tape and a gold cord.  I will find a meaningful verse to add to the inside.  BTW, thanks to Ts. Morning for a great sketch to work with!

Card for a prayer partner

This will go to a pre-schooler from our church.  I make very few cards for little kids, so it is a bit of a challenge for me!   This is a Hero Arts image I have had for a long time.  The sentiment is computer generated.  Branches are a Cheery Lynn die cut, and the red.white strip is washi tape.

SCS Faliday Fest - Texture by LMCaree

The Falliday Fest at SplitCoastStampers continues - any one can enter, and there will be prizes.  Deadline is Oct. 30- Falliday-fest-Challenge-.  Lori wants us to show some texture!  The bg is distressed stripes embossing.  I used a piece of Decorative Mesh behind the image.  (I mentioned earlier - that mesh jumped into my card at Dollar Tree!)  It ravels easily, but I hope it will stay intact as it is fastened behind the image.  Punched stars (glitter cs) and metallic ribbon complete the card.  The image is QKR Stampede, colored with water color pencils.  Yes, you have seen this image a lot - I try to use the same image on most of my Christmas cards.

Recycled Christmas card

Today we want to remember all the victims of 9-ll and pray for all of the families affected by acts of terror that have happened throughout the world.

Over the years I have saved many Christmas cards with plans to recycle them - thanks for the challenge to encourage me to do at least one!  The blue DP is Paper Pizazz, and the yellow is Paper Studio.  The edges are distressed.  Star brads complete the layout.

Shabby chic Christmas

I am trying to use every opportunity to add to my Christmas stash.
Image by QKR; ribbon with gold metallic; plaid Washi tape; Embossing folder.  I cut the pieces with a dull cutter blade to add to the shabby look - some edges were distressed more.

Christmas 2015 - 38

Does any one know this image? It is in my stash of items received through Wish RAK at SplitCoastStampers, and is one of many I have failed to document.  I will try to do better!
For the computerized tag I used Labels 43 for the mat. This is 5x7.

Christmas 2015 #24

Here is another card with the ornament DP (Paper Studio).  This time I realized I could create an ornament with this Labels 1 die - I dry embossed the green layer, and added a twine tie.  The back panel is embossed with a LifeStyle Crafts folder.  The image is by Unity.

Better CAS look

This CAS card is at least better than my last!  (Note - the black bg is to enhance the picture and is not a part of the card.)  I  used Distressed stripes, and lightly chalked the edges for a bit of a distressed look.  The image is Stampendous, and the sentiment by my computer. The main color is cream.

Set #2 - Five Christmas cards

Here is another set of five cards for this challenge:  http://christmascardsallyearround.blogspot.com/
It is similar to my first entry, but all are different.  They have, however, been posted individually in the past few days and entered in different challenges.  I could use a few more sets of five - great challenge!

This is Christ the King

This is a digital image and computer generated sentiment.  I have had this piece of burlap for a while - I think it came from some packaging - I thought it would go well with the image and papers.  The branches are from a Cheery Lynn die purchased at Joan's Gardens.
