Conratulations Ethan and Rachel

This is a non traditional card for our grandson and his fiancee;s wedding. It is meant to mimic the non traditional invitation.   I hope they like it!  The tree is from a long time favorite Stampin' Up set, and the swirls are by Die Namics, Oh, yes, I finally figured out another way to use the Majestic Element ovals by Spellbiinders.  I cut the oval from the patterned paper, and inserted the cut oval back in to the space - the dark green background peeks through enough to show off the intricate design.

Using new dies

I just got a set of Christmas dies from Peachy Cheap,  This image and sentiment were included, though I ordered the set for others that were included.  I am not sure about this - but I can see I need to use a solid background rather than this pattern paper.  That will be for another day!  The strips and mat are shiny gold.  For day 6 at Beccy's Christmas challenge, I used embossed edges on the oval die cut, and ecru colored cs.  Maybe I should add e for eyes - m y macular degeneration is bothering a lot today, and the print is jumping around a lot!

Silhouette Christmas 2018

I tried something new for this card - I used gold sticker strips to add a border to the card.  The left side features rick rac and a couple of gold strips. The silhouette image is a Stampendous stamp and the die cuts are Spellbinders.

Sympathy card for Janine

This card will go to a friend from church whose mother passed away this week.  Until recently, her 88 year old mother joined our quilting group to help as she was able, so this loss has touched us all.

Life is Sweeter - DT card for QKR Stampede ATG challenge #293

It is Friday, and time for another challenge at QKR Stampede - once again, anything goes.  You may enter as many as 3 times.  There is one category for using QKR/Eureka images, and another for any stamp.  We hope to see you!  Stop by and check out the inspiration by all the team members.
I dug into my stash and found some cute papers to back up this adorable image.  The tiny flowers are cut with Cheery Lynn dies, and I added a bit of Washi tape and a shiny gold strip.  Both the image and sentiment are from Eureka, a division of QKR.  IRL the backing is more orange than it appears on the screen.

Have a Blessed Easter

I am a bit late with the greeting - just not time to add to the blog!  We are having a good day - hubby's pain has eased a bit over the past couple of weeks and he is feeling more like getting out a little.  We attended the youth breakfast at church before services.  Otherwise it is a quiet day.  It is good to share with you the joy of the resurrection.

B is for Baby Jesus

This card features two recently acquired dies.  The sentiment is cut from an ornate circle die.  I cut a small piece of yellow cs to fit behind the stable roof for the star.  The BG is a Cuttlebug star folder.  I cut the oval opening to frame the manger scene.
I am a bit frustrated because the red in the photo is not the red IRL, which is a bit darker and more subdued in appearance.

View through the gate

I took way too long trying some new things and working out the details of this card.  Am I the only one that does this?
Technique - lots of sponging (doesn't show up very well on edges).  Behind the gate - I sponged several different colors on shimmery cs, then stamped over this.
Stamp - Inkadinkado; gate - Marianne die; flowers - Cuttlebug (part of a border die); leaves - Sizzix; Cuttlebug birthday folder, bit of lacy fiber; shiny gems for flower centers; metallic cs for gate.

Birthday, not Christmas

I did not intend for this to look so much like Christmas.  I had hoped I would have some cs that is less red - a deep pink, coral or salmon - none to be found - so I used this for the inspiration challenge.  And you need green leaves with flowers, right?  I used gel pens, Twinkling H2O and Brilliance ink to color the image.

Happy 60th Anniversary

(Sorry for the poor image).  Our good friends will soon celebrate their 60th anniversary.  I had something a bit different in mind - but my doilies seem to be in the bottom of one of the boxes I have not yet unpacked from the motor home.  I had a piece of one, so I used it as the top of a circle, and also as part of the die cut heart.  The glittery gold cs is more subtle than some golds.  I thought I should try to use diamonds rather than gold for a 60th anniversary, but had no ideas for that!  The blessings die is by Cheery Lynn, and the heart and numbers are Cuttlebug.  I added some sheer ribbon to make it more festive.

Pastel wedding

A friend asked me to make a card similar to one I had done earlier - especially the pale peach and cream.  I used Nestabilities Majestic Element ovals.  I inadvertently did not cut through one of the dies - and I like the way the two (or is it three?) outer ovals remained attached.  I added Swiss dots embossing, a Cheery Lynn butterfly, a bit of lace and sheer ribbon, and drops.  The clear drops are available in a number of sets at Classy cards 'n Such.

New home

This is an image (by the Alley Way) I enjoy using and works well for a "new home" card.  I colored with pastel chalk pencils,  The DP is from a Teresa Collins pad - thought the word "stuff" was appropriate for moving!  The Kraft bg is embossed with a Sizzix brick folder.  The fence is MemoryBox; the grass by Die-Namics; and the key is part of a Garden Gate set by Marianne...The letters are hung from a bit of twine.

This IS pink

Sorry about the color - IRL the paisley has various shades of pink, and the polka dots are also pink.  The mat is eggplant, not black.  The stamps are both from an old set by SU - Etruscan.  It has a nice variety of stamps I like a lot but forget to use - or just have so many others that I cannot possibly make good use of all of them.  I tried something new for the "flower".  The cut outs from the fancy circle were spread out on my desk, so I decided to try to put them together - and I am very pleased with the result.  It does get pretty thick where all the points meet, so I just used a sequin for a flat center.  There is glitter added, as well as the pink drops in the corners.

Garden statue and gate

Once again, I encourage your help and suggestions.  I recently won the Garden Gate and Statue dies (by Marianne) - from Creative Card Crew.  I will be trying different things to place behind the gate!  This is an old stamp by Endless creations.  I added some leaves from a Sizzix die - using black to stay with the kraft and black theme.  I placed the Our Daily Bread sentiment on a punched border.  I aged the statue with a bit of black sponging.  Oh, yes, I cut an extra outer panel of the gate, spit it in half, and extended the fence on either side in this way.  Since I decided to add the statue I really did not need to do that.

A new garden gate

I just received the Marianne die (for the gate) as a prize at Creative Card Crew, and I have been anxious to try it.  I thought it would work to place the Day for Daisies cherry blossoms behind the gate.  When I got it put together, it seemed pretty bare just behind the gate, so I unstuck a bit and slid in the row of tulips with the sentiment (dollar bin stamp) - the best I could do to rescue what I had already done!  Next time I will make more of a scene.  I added a couple of Cheery Lynn branches, and Rain drops - the clear and many colors are available at Classy Cards 'n Such.  The cherry blossoms are subtly colored with pink pastel chalk pencils; the centers are brown gems from Hampton Arts.

Lots of glitter

This is a first for me - until now I have only used sprinkles of glitter.  However, I saw this technique today and had to try it.  I have become addicted to a new series of shows - Create and Craft is on 5 hours a day on our DirectTV.  Many of the shows feature paper crafting - kind of a Home Shopping show with demos.  Now I have even more ideas and even less time to try them!  At any rate, a demo today showed placing a layer of liberal amounts of glitter beneath a die cut.  I did not have the same tools, of course, but I think I like the result with what I had.  This is a new to me Tattered Lace panel die.  I cut the die, then at the end placed the cut out back in the opening.  Meantime, I measured the opening.  I used some sticker paper cut to that size, and adhered it to the base in the right location, sticky side up. I alternated patches of gold, lavender, and red glitter on the sticky paper.  In retrospect I think I should have had a bit less gold and more of the others.  I added the sizzix sentiment and punched butterflies - with sprinkles of glitter.   I would really appreciate any suggestions.
May all of you have a most blessed Easter, rejoicing in the knowledge of the Resurrection of Jesus.
