Green and cream for Easter

This green and cream spring card has an Easter verse inside - I need to locate an Easter sentiment!  The bg is embossed with the Cuttlebug Victoria EF, and the rest is odds and ends of cs!  The coloring of Beccy;s digital image is with Prismas gel pen and chalk pencils - in varying shades of green.  I added a shimmery bauble, and actually remembered to use my corner rounder punch!  The sketch is tweaked to create an A2 rectangle.

I still have not figured out what the problem is with my uploads - the image looks fine in my computer file, but somehow on the trip to this blog blotches appear - they make the card look silvery in spots.  Sorry...!

White with red

The background uses parts of the "you" folder (Cuttlebug).  I wanted to use the more "serious" words, so I cut the strips and placed about half of each in the folder, then turned and did the other end with words that fit.  I am pleased with the result - trying to use the folders in different ways.  The image is from the Stampin Up set Sweet of You.  Coloring and bg are various shades of plum. The embossing folder and stamp set have been around in my supply stash for a long time, but have been pretty neglected.

Happy 4th

I think this is Maude - she is decked out in her blue and red two piecer ready to celebrate on the 4th - though she seems concerned about something!

Dots & Stripes

More birthday cards needed!  This Penny Black image could work as either a masculine or feminine card.  I added DP's from a DCWV spring stack, and a sentiment from 7Gypsies.  I had to stretch the scalloped rectangle as well as the sketch.

Circle card

I seldom do shaped cards, but thought this would work for a little Easter note.  This image is SU Peace Within, and the sentiment JustRite.  The embossing folder is LifeStyle crafts, and the circles are Nesties.  I colored with a combination of Prismas and gel pens - the flowers have a nice shimmer IRL.

Spring in the garden

The image is SU Peace Within.  The butterflies are one of my favorite recycling ideas - punched from a (coconut) pie box.  To create the scene, I used two new embossing folders - brick and woodgrain.  I also used a leafy one (green) - all by Sizzix.  I sponged a bit of black to age the brick.  I hope the mid layer reminds us of paving stones.
I may use this sooner than expected.  I just learned that a friend has an inoperable brain tumor, so it will be a matter of days for him.  Curt, and especially his family, could use an extra prayer - their faith will sustain them, but I cannot imagine the strength that will be needed.

Sparkly shabby vintage

Time for a more serious birthday card!  There is more sparkle IRL - glitter, pink (yes, they are pink) rhinestones, and a shimmery ribbon.  The butterflies are from Cheery Lynn dies, and the sentiment is from a Recollections set.  I think the DP (unknown, from my stash) looks vintage, and I distressed the edges a bit.

Christmas 17

I used my new Christmas tree embossing folder (QuicKutz) for this, as well as Nesties circles and ovals.  The trees are from an unidentified cube stamp I have had for a long time.  I added some glitter.  The sentiment is Hampton Art.  In addition to blue and white CS, I used a bit of DCWV glitter cs, and embossed snowflakes on it.  The ribbon is light blue.

First Christmas Card this year

I know that many of you have made a lot of your Christmas cards, but I am sure I am not alone in just starting.  I do have good intentions of starting early every year, but it seems like other card making gets in the way.   I have used this image before, but I might be able to find some one who did not receive it!
IRL the main image is nice and sparkly - I need something to get my order over the minimum for free postage (can you relate??) and I am so happy with it - a Spica.  I should have ordered more, including white. The only label on the stamp is Glad Tidings Cube.  I used SU Beyond the Basics, with light handed Garden Green, to stamp the bg.  For once I am pretty happy with that kind of bg stamping.  I added some silver edged gemstones from Pizzazz Aplenty .TTP Dec2012

Pink and Brown birthday

Whenever there is a sketch that does not lend itself to adding a sentiment, I tend to grab this CB birthday folder.  I have looked for similar ones but so far have not found any.  (I have a small folder, but it is just not the same!).  This ODB stamp has been on my desk and has also been used a lot lately.    I added stitched ribbon, and some tear drop half pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty.
