Bling, shimmer and glitter - Eureka Challenge #190

This is my design team entry for challenge #190 at Eureka Stamps - "add some bling" (Eureka Stamps blogspot.   I used the digi image Heart Bouquet. Originally I intended to use it for an anniversary card.   However, I recently learned that a friend from church is going to celebrate her 90th birthday, and I wanted to have a card ready for our quilting group to sign. Norma still drives, loves to play bridge, and quilted with us until recently. I colored with shiny metallic pens and chalk pencils. The letters are cut from pink glitter cs, the bg is shiny eggplant cs and I used shimmery champagne cs for the base. This cs looks great when embossed -  I used a Darice heart embossing folder.  There are shiny gems on the corners of the image panel.

DT card for Eureka challenge #184

This is the card I made for the Design Team Inspiration at the Eureka challenge #184 - anything goes.  Such an easy challenge to enter - I hope you will join us this week.  I used the Eureka image "clover" and sentiment "May the road...".  It is a fun image to work with - easy to color, and it comes with its own sprinkles! I colored with Prismas and baby oil.  Oh, yes, there is another shamrock and longer stems - covered by the sentiment.  It is hard for me to leave blank space, so I added 3 light green gems, and embossed a corner with a Cuttlebug corner embossing folder.  Dry embossing is my favorite - so easy to use, and I like the resulting texture.

Harry again

It is handy to print more than one copy of digis at a time - since I am mailing the previous card right away, I thought I would use this image (Pink Gem) one more time.  The bg dp is from an animal print collection - this section is just not animal related!  The buttons made a good scan impossible - sorry.

Another for Anthony

This is to send to Anthony, a 14 year old who is suffering from a rare heart condition, and is very concerned about the prognosis.  The TeaPotters at SplitCoastStampers are sending cards to cheer him.  I find cards for teens and young men very difficult, unless I know specifically some of their interests.  The suggested theme was "be connected" - eg by train - well, I could not find a train but I thought this Monster Truck would work.  I used some shiny gel pens and chalk pencils to color the digi image by Anonymous stamps.  I used an embossing folder by LifeStyle Crafts to give the illusion of tracks - the red layer is also embossed.
The teapot challenge - feel free to join us if you would like:    http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/teapot-tuesdays-f260/mmtpt371-~september-8-2015~-blue-chip-we-beseech-thee-connections-just-key-t602785.html

Cross and Blossoms

I purchased this stamp several years ago.  I was at a LSS and saw some beautiful examples using Cross and Blossoms by Paper Inspirations.  Since then, I have used it so many times, for sympathy and Easter cards.  A friend wants to buy some sympathy cards, and this is one of a selection for her.  I have used 6 tear drop pearls, some lace and ribbon, and a bit of glitter along the lace.  The image is stamped on a very pale lavender cs.
Inside:  May you find strength in your faith, comfort in God's love, and peace in knowing your friends are praying for you.

100 cards in 100 days - 28 in Febr.

I was nearly behind in completing a card a day - 100 in 100 days, so I am tryng to catch up.  However, I need to confess - I am not doing so well on the second part of the challenge - no purchase of new items.  I found two items of interest at yard sales today.  I got some ribbon - including a packet of lace for $.05!  At another site, I found some stamps - only bought one SU set (with herbs).  Back to my buying diet tomorrow!
I think I used most of the colors from the color challenge at Classy Cards - I used the oval Spellbinders dies she has available - she has so many lovely items - see the link below.  The image is Verve, and the sentiment has no label.  Other:  sheer ribbon, pale rose gems, Washi tape.
