More Thinking of you

This is one of the great vintage images offered at TLC - pre colored which is so helpful for my bad eyes!  I used DP from my stash, and added a metal clip with a rhinestone framed with metal.  I even found ribbon with the same fall colors. I used Spellbinder dies for the ovals and the DP layer.  The sentiment is computer generated.

In memory of Bev

This freebie printable from TLC is just right for a sympathy card to send to our friend whose wife passed away recently.  It is pre colored.  The sentiment is an old favorite stamp by Paper Inspirations.  I kept the background simple - the color is close to Hunter green.  I added some acrylic dots to tie the images together.

Welcome to our church

I am hoping to be more involved in a card ministry at our church.  This will be a card to welcome new members.  The Scripture is from Word Art, and the sentiment is computer generated.  I added a dragonfly charm - just because I have  a whole packet of them I have not yet used!!!

Christmas 2018 Recycled

This is another example of recycling.   I used the main image, and other parts of the same card for the background elements.  You can't tell from the photo but there is some glittery texture to enhance the snowy, starry look.  This will be added to my stash for Hearts for the Troops to send off to some sailors.

For Bill and Kay

Another in a series of cards going to members of our church in need of encouragement.
Image - a colored one in my files from TLC; DP also in my stash.  The stencil is one of a set I purchased years ago at a local store (long since gone).  The owner cut larger sheets of a type of very thin plastic into 3x6 pieces.  There are these circles, larger circles, tiny stars, hexagons and a couple of others.  I tend to forget about them, but they are handy to use.  I used SU chalk with the stencil.  I completed the card with a bit of ribbon and a Cheery Lynn die cut.

Re-do of Cuttlebug Mania DT card

I finally had a chance to do a few additional challenges.  This week Cuttlebug Mania featured cards from their first blog post 5 years ago.  I chose to do my version of Rachel's card.
I followed her layout, and used a large butterfly, but used dark brown, gold and cream. I like the layout, and the large butterfly - which I seldom have a chance to use!  I used my Platinum6 machine and a Cuttlebug die to do the floral strip just below the butterfly. All other elements are from a Kanban kit I have had for a few years - except the Hot Off the Press birthday sticker and a strip of Washi  tape.   IRL the sticker is gold, and the butterfly has more gold than appears here.

Easter Blessings to you

This is my wish that all of you will have a blessed Easter.  We rejoice in the news of the Resurrection of Jesus.  Our plans are to have Easter breakfast served by the youth of our church and attend the festive services.  Hubby is not able to travel, but his pain has eased some what so he should be able to take part in these activities - we are so grateful for these blessings.  Our family is scattered, but we have enjoyed many family visits over the past couple of months.
This card (and one similar) is already in the mail.  I used the image a couple of years ago, but am happy to use it again.  Both the image and sentiment are from QKR Stampede.  I embossed the teal background, and added a bowBrown and green complete the image.  The DP strip is DCWV Garden Party.

Tea Pot Party #503

These delicate blossoms, together with shades of purple, remind me of spring and Easter.  The stamps are by Verve;  Washi tape, a glittery purple flower, some gems, twine and DP by the Paper Studio complete the card. The mats for the card and the circle are also purple.   I used Spelbinder circle dies.  This week the SplitCoastStampers Tea Potters will send cards to a 16 year old special needs girl who is battling major illnesses, and needs some encouragement.  If you are interested in sending cards to individuals in need of cheer, you are welcome to join us here.

New embossing folder

I stopped at JoAnns to look for something else and discovered the Darice embossing folders at half price - could not let that bargain go by!  I am making some cards for a local Navy mom to use to send to her son's buddies - and others.  I thought this would work for a military/masculine birthday and then later for July 4.  I highlighted with chalk and some glittery stars and sequins, and a sentiment by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I need to check to see if glitter and sequins are ok to send.  The verse inside includes a happy birthday greeting.

Tag/book mark

I thought I would make a few simple tags to enclose in thinking of you cards - they can be used as inspiration or as book marks.  The stamp is one I have had for a long time - by Rubber Stampede.  I used chalk to sponge around the edges and added some yellow.   Not much too it, but It will serve my purpose.

Final Christmas 2017

I thought I had finished cards for 2017, but here is one more, using the same image I have already used a lot - it is an older freebie on a blog called Beyond the Fringe.  Thank you!  This card is alrady in the mail as of yesterday so I cannot re-do the photo - I just noticed that the gold sticker strips I used along the edge (below the stars) is not visible.  For the integrity of the sketch - they are there!  I printed the inside verse on a sheet of paper, and used the gold cord to hold it in place.

QKR Stampede - DT card for challenge #275 - ATG with a Santa option

MERRY CHRISTMAS!   I am sending wishes that all of you will have a blessed Christmas season, and all the best in the new year.  We have had our share of health issues in our family this year as well as the loss of friends and family members.  In spite of the sadness, we have had more than our share of joy, and are thankful to God for the many blessings we receive each day.

This is probably my first Christmas card for 2018.  I do have one final card ready to mail for 2017 - just waiting for an address.  I think we are not receiving as many cards, and I am trying to cut back a little - and sending some by e-mail.
The weekly challenge at  QKR Stampede is the usual anything goes, with the option of including Santa.  My version, called "Bringing a Tree", shows a Santa about as far behind in preparations as I am.  At least his miniature tree will not take long to decorate LOL!  I used Twinkling H20 ink, markers, and stickles (for the fur and tiny snowflakes) to finish him.  The sentiment is also available through the QKR Stampede Store.  The dies are Spellbinder Labels 4, and the snowflake is a punch.  The strip is glittery wire edged ribbon.

TCCC #184 The Sound of Music

This week MUSIC is the theme for the challenge at The Crafter's Cafe.  Check out the blog for some great inspiration from the team members.  Some of us used images from one of the sponsors - Dr. Digi. I selected this one called The Sound of Music.  I did my best Julie Andrews imitation!  I am not sure she ever wore a green jumper in the film, but I thought green went with the DP I was using.  I have more than enough supplies to last a couple of lifetimes, but, alas, not much for the music theme.  I used several bits from my DCWV Heritage pad, including a music piece.  You may enter the challenge up to 3 times, with a maximum of 10 challenges entered.  The challenge will run for 2 weeks.

SCS Dare to get Dirty Edna B

This is a digi that I labelled "anonymous" in my file.  It has been there a long time and I think that was a digi company.  I colored the image with Prismas.  I printed a second image and cut out and colored the blossoms to add dimension.
