ODB Sympathy

I need to replenish my stash of sympathy cards - it is good to have them on hand rather than having to make one at the last minute.  This uses an image from Our Daily Bread and a sentiment from Paper Inspirations.  A ribbon, Petaloo flower and half pearl complete the card.

Be the Elephant, #2

Please see my previous post for more details.  I changed the orientation and colors, but other elements are the same - as is my story!  I find lots of positive advice here!  My grandkids think I am an adventurous Grandma!

Have a Blessed Christmas

I want to wish each of you a most happy and blessed Christmas.  May you and yours be filled with joy and love as we celebrate the birth of Christ.

I have not had much time to do cards recently (see the previous posts of photos from our trip) but I need one more Christmas card - and found lots of challenges to complete!  I used the same materials as for most of the previous cards - the glitter added to the Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing, and a shiny gold die cut strip, and a die cut circle.  The mat is hunter green.

This is the day

This is always a favorite verse, reminding us to be thankful for everything from day to day, and to rejoice in all that the Lord has done for us.  The challenge is to create our own background - I hope this SU embossing folder is suitable.  It i easy to see the dry embossing is one of my favorite backgrounds.  I stamped these images and left the stamps in our home for the summer - I forget where it is from.

Blessings and encouragement

For this card, I selected some DCWV DP that I have had a long time.  The scripture is one of several sent by a friend at WishRAK (Splitcoaststampers) - it reminds me of he poer and blessings of God.  I used Memory Box and Nestabilities dies, Petaloo flowers and a few misc. rhinestones as well as Martha Steward tape.

Thinking of you RAK

This will be good for one of several RAK cards I would like to send.  The sentiment is from SU Thoughts and Prayers' the DP is an old DCWV pad I have had for a LONG time.  The strip is tape from Recollections.

Bless you

This RAK card is for a man who has severe health problems, but his faith is a big help to him.  I hope it will encourage him.  The Scripture is a digi, and the sentiment was sent to me.  I used a Halloween scene (Sizzix) for the tree, and covered the pumpkin with the sentiment.  The green cs and DP are from Amuse.  I cut the corners with edging scissors - used an inverted scallop.

May you be blessed

There are so many people in need of encouragement - this verse does just that.  The stamps are ODB - the sentiment from Happy Birthday and image from Faith.  I colored with Prismas, and trimmed a bit to fit the layout.  I have seen so many gorgeous cards with cut outs - I used a Fiskars punch to achieve this.  The embellishments are negative pieces.  The bg layer was put through the CB twice (different directions) to leave the smooth area for the sentiment.  When ever I do this there seems to be an uneven "seam" - the strips help hide that.

Birthday wishes with ice cream

I like this image so much!  It reminds me of two of our grandchildren - they are young men now, but have always had such joy and companionship with their dogs.  The image is High Hopes, colored With Prismas and pens.  I had to squeeze in the required border (Martha Stewart). I used a bit of the CB Asterisk die cut for some added pieces and also a bit of Recollections tape.

Easter Blessings

It is almost time to leave for church so I will have to come back with details.
The image and Scripture are from the ODB Birthday set, colored with gel pens and Brilliance ink (watering can).  I sponged and distressed lightly to create a somewhat shabby chic look - I think the watering can adds to that look. The butterflies are punched, and I added a bit of Easter ribbon I have hoarded for several years..

On eagle's wings

My brother in law is coming to stay for a few days.  When he was here last year he purchased all of my sympathy cards - he lives in a very small town, and was glad to be able to have some cards that were not just like all of the others.  So I am trying to be prepared!  Unfortunately, we are of an age where the need comes all too often.  A friend who no longer stamps gave me these images.  I used an EK Success punch for the border, and used the punched circles in the corner.

For Ron & Maggie

There are several challenges involving friendship, so this is a good opportunity for me to have this card to take to our weekly Bible Study.  One of the members has just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.  I made this card 8.5x5.5 to allow plenty of room for signatures. The image is a digi - please help me identify it so I can give credit.  The friends tag is computer generated, placed on Nesties.  I added ribbon and a Martha Stewart punched border.
This photo from Kirkland inspired me to use this piece of DP -http://www.kirklands.com/product/Wall-Decor/Art/Framed-Art/Turku-Floral-Framed-Art-Print-Set-of-2/pc/2283/c/2293/sc/2669/163816.uts

Another B&W

Black and white has been popular for January challenges!  And it is a favorite of mine.  In addition, I have chosen a favorite verse of mine, using a no name stamp.  The flowers, a StudioG stamp, are colored with Spica pens.  I added some Baker's twine and a Spellbinders die/emboss piece.

Christmas #19

I actually have more than 19 cards, but this is a way to change titles here LOL!  I tried  for a vintage look with the sepia/brown image and slightly distressed edges.  I also have vintage lace - purchased at an estate sale, and I am sure it must be over 50 years old (come to think of it, I am a lot older....!!!).  The snowflakes are embossed on shimmery cs, and that reminds me of the ceilings in some old buildings.  I added shimmer to the star with my new gold Spica pen.  Otherwise, everything here is at least 6 months old and some much older - the sentiment says SU 1995, though I have owned it for just a few years.

Country Garden in the fall

These bird houses looked kind of empty - no birds in sight!  So I think it works for a fall card, with flowers in fall colors.  The DP is DCWV fall pack.  The image is my prize from High Hopes, called Country Garden.  I was happy to have a chance to ink it up - though I had to crop it a bit for this layout.  The sentiment is Our Daily Bread.  I used more prizes for some of the coloring - the small flowers, leaves and centers all use Spica pens - I have come to really like the results of these shimmery pens - and the ease of use.  The rest of the coloring is with Prismas.  The leaves are Shapeabilities Orchard Harvest.
