Congrats to Allison

Our niece is graduating from nursing school - this CC Designs stamp is just right!  The Congrats is a Cuttlebug die.  I used my new Stampers Anonymous stencil for the "rays" - colored with chalk.  The image is on watercolor CS, colored with Twinkling H20's.  DP by Prima.

No black

This was a bit of a tough challenge for me - use blues, browns, purples/plums - and no black.  I used a variety of Costco double sided cs (in my stash for  LONG time - it was a huge pack!), and Chocolate Chip ink for the Unity stamps.  I fussy cut the bird, and embossed the light blue layer with a bird folder - from Paper Studio.  The embossing is highlighted with Chocolate Chip chalk - but does not show well here.  The strips are Washi tape.  Oh, yes, some of the circles are Spellbinders Majestic elements, and the tag is highlighted with a crystal gem.

Scripture for Sharon - in her favorite purple

Every Tuesday at Splitcoaststampers the Tea Pot Partiers create cards to send to a deserving person.  This week we are sending encouraging cards to Sharon - who has undergone 14 surgeries.  She is a devoted reader of Scripture, and purple is a favorite color - so this is especially for her.
This card also recognizes my cyber friend from Wish RAK, Kathleen Curry, who was the SplitCoast Featured Stamper on Sunday.  I followed the same sketch she used for her card, and kept a few other elements, including the pink ribbon.  She stitched the layers - I used my very neglected piercing template - it is just not the same, however.  Kathy's card:  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2481591?&cat=500&ppus
The misc. pieces of DP have been in my stash for a long time - so have the flowers.  The Spellbinders Majestic element ovals are fairly new, as is the Washi tape.  The verse is from Verve's New Mercies - my recent prize from Mojo Monday.

Recycled butterflies

I am sure most of you can relate - some cards come together more easily than others - this was one of the easier ones for me. I usually begin with a sketch.  Here, I added my newest pattern paper (from a grab bag).  I scissor-cut the scallops (part of the pattern), and used the plainer part of the paper for the bottom strip.  The  middle strip shows embossed Stylized flowers (Cuttlebug).  I used some of the washi tape I purchased a few weeks ago as well as metallic cord a friend gave me years ago.  The sentiment is Just Rite.  The butterflies are recycled card board - one of my favorite things for die cuts - that I hardly ever use LOL!  This is from a store brand Raisin Bran box - just the right color!  The striped cereal bowl was just right for the smaller butterfly.  The tricky part is to find a spot without too much lettering.  (My all time favorite would be the boxes containing Marie Callender pies - yummy to eat and nice colorful pictures!)  The sentiment is JustRite.

Lacy Butterfly

I was inspired by the softness, the scallops, and the tiny pink flowers at the ODB inspiration challenge.  I used a bit of DP from a mega grab bag, and "divided" it with a border using a Martha Stewart border punch.  The sentiment is from ODB's Happy Birthday set and the butterfly is Cheery Lynn.  I backed the We R Memory Keepers washi tape with light color cs - the tape is from a large set I got from Costco a while ago.  It will last me forever, but it was a good deal and gives me a better selection.  I should have added some bling to the butterfly - I can still do that.  I will use this for my Visitation team ministry at church.  If you have ideas of a simple way to keep track of what card (including inside verse) is sent to whom, I would appreciate hearing from you.
