More recycled Christmas Cards, 2017

I am still trying to figure out how to use this great die cut.  This time, I used an old, glittery Christmas card as the backdrop.  The sentiment is computer generated.  The metallic gold ribbon is also glittery.

Same colors and image - glittery Christmas

I use the same image and similar colors for most of our Christmas cards - and am always happy to find a sketch to  use!
Image - QKR Stampede;  Cuttebug snowflake embossing folder; star stickers; silver glitter; silver strip; shimmery silver cs.  I hope you can see the glitter scattered over the snowflakes - and elsewhere.

Glitter and purple birthday

This sketch and other challenges gave me a chance to use  a small piece of glittery DP (for he three strips) that I have had in my scrap pile for a while.  I also added glitter to the Cheery Lynn die cut branches as well as to the purple brad - which kind of blends in at the base of the branches.  I added shiny gems, then bits from a Fiskar punch.  The sentiments are from Verve.  The inside verse says Happy Birthday.

For Victoria, with an envelope

.
I rarely make square cards because of the extra postage.  However, this will be hand delivered - so bumpy embellishments and square shape will work.  My teen aged granddaughter asked me to make a card for her friend - in pink, with a kitty and glitter.  The image is from http://sliekje.blogspot.com/.  Angelique periodically adds images, mostly cats - all are freebies.  Thank you for your generosity and keep on drawing!  I colored with Prismas and metallic gel pens.  The animal DP is from a pad I found at Big Lots - the checked section is the reverse of the double sided paper.  The polka dots is a sheet I have had for a long time.  No pattern for the envelope - I decided to wing it, but using a pattern would have been easier I am sure.  There is glitter on the flowers and her name - which is easier to see IRL.  There are 3 deep pink rain drops at the top right and narrow gold metallic sticker strips to set off the various papers.

Lots of glitter

This is a first for me - until now I have only used sprinkles of glitter.  However, I saw this technique today and had to try it.  I have become addicted to a new series of shows - Create and Craft is on 5 hours a day on our DirectTV.  Many of the shows feature paper crafting - kind of a Home Shopping show with demos.  Now I have even more ideas and even less time to try them!  At any rate, a demo today showed placing a layer of liberal amounts of glitter beneath a die cut.  I did not have the same tools, of course, but I think I like the result with what I had.  This is a new to me Tattered Lace panel die.  I cut the die, then at the end placed the cut out back in the opening.  Meantime, I measured the opening.  I used some sticker paper cut to that size, and adhered it to the base in the right location, sticky side up. I alternated patches of gold, lavender, and red glitter on the sticky paper.  In retrospect I think I should have had a bit less gold and more of the others.  I added the sizzix sentiment and punched butterflies - with sprinkles of glitter.   I would really appreciate any suggestions.
May all of you have a most blessed Easter, rejoicing in the knowledge of the Resurrection of Jesus.

Blessings - red and white

This is really outside of my usual style - but I really like the result - and SO easy!    I have a fairly large sheet of these red hearts - and a smaller piece of pink. These pieces were included in a huge box of supplies I bought at a store closing a few years ago - the new owner just wanted to get rid of "stuff" - lots of left overs from what must have been an invitation business.  The bottom line is that this red piece is going to last a long time - and this sketch was the perfect spot to use a bit!

Glittery anniversary

Once again, I have a digi that I failed to label (I have since learned to be more careful.)  Please, if you recognize this, let me know! I used my new shiny gel pens to color. The two hearts are a repeat from the center of the main EF, by Sizzix.  Not sure why the subtle gold glitter looks like globs...
BTW - the black layer is for the photo only.

Thank you in the new year

Happy New Year!  May 2015 be filled with blessings for you.  This is also a thank you to everyone who designs, supervises, comments, creates - and more - to keep the blog challenges going!
The actual card will go to my sister-in-law.  She will be having shoulder replacement surgery next week - several months ago had back surgery that really did not work well, so it is not easy for her.  Your prayers would be appreciated.  I know she appreciates my cards, so I enjoy making them for her.
I am going to try some new things, but also use some of my supplies that have been gathering dust!  For the color challenge (teal, dusty blue, navy, white)  Jo at Trimgym (See C.R.A.F.T. below) created several bg papers - they were freebies and much appreciated.  I used two of them on this card.  I also used a Hampton Art stamp, with a 7Gypsies library sentiment, and some ribbon I have had for a few years. I added glitter to the stamped flower (SU Night of Navy ink.)

One more sparkly Christmas card

Today I will take this to Bible Class so others can sign - it will be sent to former members.  Phyllis recently stopped chemo treatment - she is feeling better now but we know that she is in need of support.  (It is 4,75 x 6.5).  Stamp: Santa Rosa; computer sentiment; NestabilitiesMajestic Element circle; Recollections snowflake punches; ribbon, CB snowflake EF; lots of glitter (that is probably not visible).

5 Shades of White

I am sure you can't tell on the screen, but there are five shades of white - each layer is different,  The fancy circle is shiny cs (actually, the recycled back of a card I received), and the punched snowflakes are from a scrap of brocade style white cs.  The embossing is a Nellie Snellen folder.  I tried the highlight technique from a video tutorial - see the link to Beccy's site below, and she has links on her blog.  White glitter is sprinkled over all.  The sentiment is computer generated.  THe cs, dies, and glitter have been a part of my supplies for a long time.

I'm a Little Teapot

I do not often use greens, but there wI a learning to like them! These pieces are glittery and sparkly, and I added some green jewels. .   I saw the challenge to use a song for inspiration - when I saw this image I could not get the kid's song (I'm a Little Teapot, Short and Stout") out of my head!  50 years ago, when our kids were little, they had a record with this and similar songs - no videos back then LOL!

glittery flowers

If you have visited my blog in the past you will most likely realize that this is "our of the box" for me - I am pretty much "put an image over some dp or some embossed layers" kind of person - so the following inspiration challenge worked, I would say.  I am still a bit limited, with many of my supplies not in the RV for summer- as a result, thee are kind of funky flowers - big blossoms on tiny stems!  I used more glitter cs for the die cut hello.  Oh yes, the flower stems are die cuts - I used a stem on the Cuttlebug Olivia alpha set - used about 3 cuts for each stem.  You can't tell here, but the rectangles on the DP are also glittery.  The flowers are Petaloo, I think.

Grad - Hanna's sister

I need more graduation cards than any other year - need to keep them fairly simple.  These are school colors - for the sister of our future granddaughter-in-law.
I used the Cuttlebug Congrats folder, and LifeStyle labels dies.
The butterfly and branches are Cheery Lynn dies.  The butterfly is cut from one of my favorite non-crafting items - a Marie callender pie box - this is coconut cream.  I added glitter to the butterfly and a gem to hold the branches.  The ribbon is a metallic gold.  The stamp is a 7Gypsies library stamp.   The starry bb is DCWV, and I used scraps for the labels and the branches. The gold cs is AMuse.

A heart for friends

This is a busy week and I will not be making many Valentines.  This is special - our friends celebrated their 50th anniversary last summer.  However, Mary Lou's health is declining - there may not be another anniversary.  So I thought a special valentine is called for.  The image is from my WishRAK stash - but I like the old fashioned look.  I distressed the bg layer to go with that.  I colored with Prismas and shiny gel pens.  I added Stickles to the red heart, and some glitter to the doily like inner heart.  I fussy cut (well, it was not very fussy!!) the image.  The pink layer is embossed with hearts (Cuttlebug) and I used a Spellbinder scallop border die with embossing (can't see it?  ... next to the twine).  The letters are cut from a LifeStyle Crafts set (hello, good by), and the greeting is JustRite.

Glitzy Thank you

The thank you section of my stash is pretty empty - time to replenish.  Both the image and DP have been in my box for a long time.   I usually make cards  that do not have quite so many different elements - not sure if this one works.  I cut the outer flower, then cut a smaller version (Spellbinder) - backed the image, and placed the points to leave the bg showing (easier done than explained!)The LifeStyle embossing folder is not new but seems like it as I have only used it a couple of times.  The Washi tape is one of my newer purchases - I am still doing the 100 card challenge (at Splitcoaststampers) - no purchases until I have made 100.  Oh yes - the strip is a silver metallic; the flowers have glitter and I added a bit of glitter to the place mat.
