I Know, I know! Mum's the word, at least for 364 days a year around our house, But this Sunday I will get my first lie in for......a year!
If you haven't already made your Father's day card you can still download our free papers which I have used below, If you have....download them anyway, they'll keep!
As well as the papers I used the Framelits Stars set and the Brenda Walton Antiqua Sizzlits alphabet die set.
I started by folding a rectangle of beige card in half to form an 11 x 10.5cm base card before covering the front and inside cover with two squares of the patterned papers. The next bit is the fiddly part! place the open card face up so that the fold is parallel with the edge of the bottom cutting plate as shown in the third box. Place the large star Framelits die over the patterned car so that a small part of it overhangs the edge of the cutting plate, this will create your hinge. sandwich with the other cutting plate and cut on your Big Shot.
If you have placed your card and star down and you are afraid of them slipping about as you cut, use a post it note to secure both in place, they are easy to remove and never leave a mark.
After die cutting trim along the spine of the card to remove the excess card. Use a corner punch to round off the corners and a dark Distress ink pad to add a little depth to the edges (Weathered Wood is a great colour to use).Take a piece of metallic silver card and burnish to achieve a brushed metal effect. Die cut the letters and Use a pattern wheel to get the dashed line effect. Decorate with some screw head brads, Prima make a really nice set.
Attach the letters to the card using 3D foam pads and your ready to pop it in the envelope, Mum will appreciate all your hard work and ingenuity even if Dad doesn't....MEN!!!
