Cute little fox

I finally got to use the cute fox die and made a card with it. I inked the edges to make the image pop out a bit more

Stamps and die cutting

For today's post I decided to use the Jillibean Hello Framelits and stamps. I just love that I can stamp and cut out the image and then place it over a photo or other embellishment. I cut out the today stamp and stamped some stars over the layout to create more movement and flow.

Always by Lilith

I have the sweetest husband ever. He helps with the ironing and drives the kids around to their activities at the weekend which means I have more time to prepare my lessons and to get creative. He is a gem. I love making him a card to tell him how grateful I am and how much I love him. This is one of the first cards for 2015.

I used my favourite LEAVES die and an embossing folder for some texture. I love how easy it is to put together a card with a few basic supplies, a die and an embossing folder.

Hearts by Lilith

Just before the start of a new year I think it is important to reflect on what the previous one has brought me and each year I my family is on the top of my little list. In this layout I wanted to put my relationship with my husband centre stage. There are very little photos of us two together and those I do have are precious.
I used the  bigz basic shapes die which came in the starter kit. I cut out  couple of hearts, inked the edges and added some rub-ons to the larger one. Then I placed them over the layout, trying to keep the focus on the photo.

Supplies:
Sizzix Big shot Starter Kit, Other: OPen Book collection Crate Paper.

Thank you for following me throughout the year and happy New Year to you all. May 2015 bring you lots of happiness, joy and creativity.

Scalloped circles by Lilith

The nesting dies are some of my most used dies. I love printing texts onto cardstock and then cutting it out with the dies. It is so easy and changes from the usual label shape I usually use. For this layout I wanted to keep it simple and I was inspired by the constellation on the dark blue patterned paper. I cut out my text and some circles in the two patterned papers I had chosen. I placed them diagonally over the page and recreated part of the constellation with some wood veneer stars and added some hand drawn lines.

Flowers and details with Lilith

I know it is nearly Christmas and that winter is just around the corner but at this time of year I usually get a wee bit nostalgic and I start longing for summer again. When I started thinking about my project for this week I couldn't help myself and just had to use this cute photo of my sun sitting in the garden of our holiday home where we stayed this summer. He was observing every little detail: the grass, the flowers and most importantly the insects. I love how to see the tiniest things. I think as adults we sometimes forget to look more closely.
I used an embossing folder with flowers to create one of the layers underneath my photo which I cut out using a frame die cut. I also spent a bit of time cutting around the embossed flowers.

Ready for winter ... with Lilith

The cold has finally found its way to Belgium and we even have had our first snow. I am not a huge fan probably because I grew up in South Africa and the warm temperatures have been graved into my body but my little one LOVES it. We he saw the first flakes he put his winter coat on and was ready to play outside. He loves his warm hood and I think he looks so cute.

The patterned papers I picked aren't winter themed so to add that hint of winter I cut out snowflakes using the Basic Grey snowflake die. I added a bit of glitter to them for the extra sparkle.

Christmas week 4: Gift wrapping idea with Lilith

Welcome to the last week of the Sizzix Christmas Challenge. This week is all about gift ideas. These last years my family has tried to cut down on the gifts. I love just spending time together and not getting into a spending frenzy and just buying things that don't get used. We do make each other gifts or give each other vouchers. Now just giving an envelope isn't that exciting so I decided to reuse some chique black boxes.

I grabbed a gold and a white doily and then cut out some snowflakes using the Sizzix Bigz Die - Snowflakes #3 . I sewed the snowflakes together and then adhered them to th doilies.
A bit of ribbon to hold the box together and I have a pretty box to put under the tree. I just added a tiny tag so that I can add a name to it.
Easy and it instantly makes the gift so much more fun.

Christmas week 3 with Lilith

This week's theme is Tree Decorations. I have made many decorations in the past and really wanted to make something different. I decided to tweak the theme a bit and I made a decoration by not for the tree. (naughty me). I also wanted the project to be quick and this one was SUPER FAST but I really love the end result. All you need is a water glass (I used a wide one), some embroidery thread and the Sizzix Let it Snow thinlits die.
http://www.sizzix.co.uk/product/659921/sizzix-thinlits-die-let-it-snow
Just cut out the design, add some thread to recreate scarves for the snowmen and adhere it to your glass. Pop in a candle, light it and voilà. A pretty feature to add to your decorations or on the dinner table.

  Supplies:
Let it Snow thinlits die, embroidery thread, glass, candle, glue.

Oh and just a reminder NEVER leave candles unsupervised. They are beautiful and add lots of ambiance but can also be dangerous. Have a wonderful week.

Christmas Challenge week 2 with Lilith

Welcome to the second day of the Christmas Challenge week. This week the designers at Sizzix will be bringing you ideas for wrapping and sprucing up your gifts. Today I'll be showing two tags I made. They are simple yet chic. They are also very easy to make and they will instantly make your gift something special.

I picked two tags from my stash and a doily which I layered over the tags just covering one side. Then I cut out two snowflakes from the Sizzix Bigz Snowflake Die #3 which I placed on top. A sentiment and a small shiny bead. Simple and elegant.

Christmas week 1 with Lilith

Welcome to the second day of the Christmas Challenge week. Creating Christmas cards is always one of my favourite crafting activities.

The card I created today is created using the digital festive papers (download available here: Sizzix free festive papers) . I printed two of the paper designs onto some white cardstock as well as the paper die cut elements.

The base is a piece of  4"*6" white card stock . I then layered a smaller piece using the blue striped paper.
Then I trimmed a piece of the star design which I cut in a banner shape. Then I added some white twine which I tied in a ribbon. I also cut out some of the hearts which I layered on top of the banner. The final touch is a snowflake which I cut using the Sizzix Bigz Die - Snowflakes #3 . I then added some stickles to add a bit glitter.

Such a simple but very festive card. Have fun creating Christmas cards.
