Inspiring me Quilt: Blocks 16-24

Hi everyone!! After two months and a half since I sew some blocks, today I show you some more  for my Inspiring me Quilt, my own design using Sizzix dies and planning to get 100 blocks.
Well, here  they are nine new blocks, some with embroidery with DMC floss.
I´m sure you can find some inspiration and even take a chance to try some of these ones.

You can find some of these dies in more of my Inspiring me quilt blocks but I always try to find a new way  displaying the fabrics.
All of them are 8.5" finished.

 ¡Hola a todo el mundo! Después de dos meses y medio desde que os enseñé  los últimos bloques para mi "Inspiring me  Quilt", hoy vengo con nueve bloques más que he diseñado usando los troqueles de Sizzix. Si recuerdas bien, mi idea es llegar a los 100.

Así que ahí te los dejo , algunos de ellos  bordados con  hilo DMC.

Estoy segura que encontrarás inspiración e incluso te atreverás con alguno de ellos.

Algunos de los troqueles ya han sido usados antes para otros bloques pero intento siempre jugar con las telas y hacer nuevas combinaciones.

Todos miden 21.5 cm

Inspiring me Quilt : Blocks 10-15

Hi everyone! I come back with more blocks for my Inspiring me Quilt. If you remember I talked to you in this post as my own challenge using just Sizzix Dies!!

My idea is getting 100 blocks!

I have designed six more , some of them with a little of embroidery with DMC floss.

Hope you  like them and enjoy , I´m sure maybe you can sew some project with a block you can find here. 

Ok, here I go with the blocks.

First of all a new one for me and one of the traditional blocks in quilting,

Robbing Peter to Pay Paul 4,1/4in Assembled

It´s fantastic how quick you  have have these pieces cut and just start to sew!!

I came back to hexagons again and I have designed a new block.

Hexagons, 1 1/4" sides ( for fabric )

Hexagons, 1" sides ( for pattern)

For the squares I have used

I cut the fabric with the 2" die and my cardstocks with 

hexagon, 1 1/4"sides 

I have try this big hexagon now and I have to say I love this size too.So I ´m sure I will do more things with it!!

This is my first time trying this apple core block. I have to confess I was wishing to have this die at home , especially because this is one of the traditional block that is complicate  to be cut BUT easily with the Big Shot Plus , so you can have a lot of apple cores cut in just some minutes.

¡Hola a todo el mundo! Hoy vuelvo de nuevo con algunos bloques más de mi quilt Inspiring me. Si recuerdas, te hablé  en éste artículo  sobre él y cómo está siendo mi propio reto para usar sólo los troqueles de Sizzix.

¡ Mi propósito es conseguir hacer 100 y espero conseguirlo!

He diseñado seis más , algunos de ellos con bordado usando hilo de DMC.

Espero que te guste y que lo disfrutes, estoy segura que a lo mejor te anima a idear algún proyecto con alguno de ellos.

Echa un vistazo a las fotos.

El primero ha sido una  novedad, Robbing Peter to Pay Paul es uno tradicional que quería probar y que he tenido la oportunidad gracias a Sizzix. Es comodísimo cortar de una vez todas las piezas del bloque.

Tengo que mejorar el montaje porque ha sido mi primer bloque pero no dudo que haré más cosas con él.

Vuelvo a los hexágonos y pruebo por primera vez el troquel grande de 2 pulgadas de lado. Me gusta esta medida. Es cómoda y para hacer los patrones he usado el troquel que ya tenía de  1 ¼ de  pulgada en los lados.

Otro bloque  que he hecho por primera vez ha sido el de Corazón de Manzana , Apple Core,  otro bloque tradicional en un buen tamaño. Le tenía ganas  la verdad. Lo bueno es que puedes cortar un montón de una vez con la Big Shot Plus y no tienes que estar usando patrones o reglas con lo que te ahorras un montón de tiempo. Por cierto en el enlace junto a la foto podrás ver un video tutorial.

Por cierto , éste lo he cortado  en un cuadrado de 8.5” para adaptarlo a las medidas de  mis bloques.

Por último otro bloque que repito, Drunkard´s Path  y que me encanta por la cantidad  de combinaciones que puedes hacer con él.  Si te gusta tanto como a mí puedes ver otros proyectos que he cosido como   Valentine Square Cushion ,Vane quilt   o también  el cojín Drunkard´s Path cushion with pom poms.

En la última foto puedes ver todos los que  ya tengo hechos así como el detalle de los bordados.

My own Sizzix Challenge : Inspiring me quilt, the beginning

Hi everyone! Today I come with something very very especial. I´m doing my own challenge with Sizzix Dies.I´m planning a very big quilt made with 100 blocks  and using only Sizzix Dies!!Wow, can you believe ? Do you think I will be able to design this quilt? Yes, I¨m sure and I´m really enjoying with me first blocks.

This quilt is called "Inspiring me quilt" and it is design completely by myself.

Right now I have sew 9/100.

Some of them are made with embroidery as I´m an embroiderer too.

So , can and join with me!

This will be a fabulous challenge to yourself.

Maybe you only want to use what you have on hand but it would be great to add new Sizzix dies you will have forever for using in the future with more and more new projects.

Well, here I go  how I have started.

First decide the size of each block.

Mine are made with a 8'5" square background fabric.

I have done a selection for whole the quilt.

Here it is my method  for applique as I explained sometime ago in my post  Cutting freezce paper for applique

Just use the chosen die and cut out freezer paper ,now with my very super great Sizzix Big Shot Plus machine that I adore since it came home, thanks Sizzix!!

Iron on the wrong side of the fabric and cut out by hand.

Now I applique with hidden stitches.

Each block is clean and simple and some of the them with embroidered cotton thread (I used DMC )

I´m sure I will need to repeat some block with different fabrics.

¡Hola a todo el mundo!Hoy os traigo algo muy muy especial. Estoy haciendo mi propio desafío con los troqueles Sizzix. Estoy planeando un gran quilt hecho con 100 bloques y ¡¡usando sólo troqueles de Sizzix!!Wow, ¿podéis creerlo? ¿ Creéis que seré capaz de diseñar este quilt ?Claro que sí, estoy segura y tanto que hay lo estoy haciendo con los primeros bloques.

Esta colcha la he llamado “ Inspiring me quilt “ y está completamente diseñada por mí.Ahora tengo cosidos 9/100 bloques.

Algunos irán con bordado porque ya sabéis que me encanta el bordado.

Este reto también está dirigido a ti.

Es posible que sólo quieras  utilizar lo que ya tienes, pero sería una buena manera de añadir nuevos troqueles a tu colección y que usarás para siempre en  otros nuevos proyectos.

Te cuento cómo he empezado. Primero decidí el tamaño de cada bloque , en este caso tiene una medida de  un cuadrado de    21,5 cm. Así corté las telas de fondo.

Ya tengo hecha la selección de telas para toda la colcha.

Mi técnica para la aplicación con freezer paper os la conté en el artículo Cortando freezer paper para aplicado hace ya algún tiempo.

Escogí el troquel , corté el papel con mi  super estupenda y nueva máquina de Sizzix Big Shot Plus y que adoro desde que llegó a casa gracias a Sizzix!!

Planché por el revés de la tela , recorté a mano dejando algo de margen y apliqué con puntadas escondidas .

Cada bloque tiene un diseño limpio y claro y algunos tienes bordado con hilo DMC.
