Fast and easy: Spring pocket envelope

Hi again! Spring is not very willing to come here, to Poland. What can we do then to invite it into our country? How about fast, easy to do and optimistic project?
To complete this green, flowery envelope you don't need more than 30 minutes. All you need to have are some Sizzix dies (including Tim Holtz Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Pocket Envelope), Big Shot machine, some Distress Inks, Embossing folder and embellishments!

Here is the full product list:
- 657843 - Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Pocket Envelope
- 657846 - Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK - Bubble & Honeycomb Set
- 658290 - Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - Butterflies #4
-  Ranger: Distress Ink: Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky, Pine Needles. Perfect Pearls - Whiten Opal.
- 7 Dots Studio - "Love is in the Air" collection papers
- Prima Marketing: Mechanicals - Roman Numerals, paper roses, buttons, Junkyard Findings
- other: pearl flower, thread.

First you need to cut out the envelope shape and emboss it using one of the Sizzix Embossing Folders. Next step is gluing everything together and inking the paper envelope with Distress Inks in chosen colors.

Later we need to do some simple embellishing: I cut out and inked some paper butterflies and prepared a selection of little Prima roses, a button and metal embellishments by Ingvild Bolme. All the composition was build on a bundle of white thread which adds a bit of interesting texture.
Finally I added a bit of twine to close the pocket envelope and a bit of Ranger Perfect Pearls in the desired places and the project was ready!

I hope you will have a great, creative week. See you soon!

Lovely handmade tags

Hellooooo, how are you? Christmas is very close!!! OMG! Have you finished to make everything for your family and friends?  I'm having a lot of fun creating something handmade to donate to who I love so much!

Today I want to show you some tags I made using the fantastic sizzix products mixed to lovely other materials.

Materials you need:

This is a very good way to use your paper leftovers, we have always a lot of them wherever! ;)

First of all create your tags, I used the Sizzix Bigz Pro Die - POcket page and tag (657162) die even if it should not appear the main use ;)
Simply create the background for your tags, I have used my color sprays.
Add some pieces of old book paper. Apply at the end of each tag some paper leftovers :) this is a good way to make you feel good to have not waste materials :) LOL
Cut a scallop heart with kraft paper and add some stickers and letter stickers for the greetings.
I have stamped the figure I would like to insert on the tag and with needle and threads I have remarked the drawing:) Like I have done with the star :) Don't you find it fabulous?

What do you think?
Create your own tags and let me see them:)
Have a wonderful and creative week

Love, Lory

Advent Calendar + Mini Album

Every year I wish I had time to make a Advent Calendar, but until this year it was that, a wish. But this year I saw something online that made me rush to my craft studio and make one way ahead of time.

This is, in fact, not really an advent calendar but and advent collector to make a mini album. Instead of each day getting something, my aim is to put something, whether be a photo, a thought or a brief résumé of what we did that day. At the end of the month, I will collect the tags, put a ring binder through and voila, I will have a mini album of the run to Christmas 2012! Next year a new batch of tags will be done and a new mini album will be finished. Well, that is the idea.

You will probably think that Advent calendars have 24 windows, not 25. Since I was born on Christmas Day, it would be rude not to have one tag on my birthday!

To make it I used one cheap frame from Ikea. It is rather large but it has a plastic backing rather than a glass one which is very useful if you want to drill holes through it.
It just so happens that the Tim Holtz Pocket Envelope die is perfect size to fit all 24 + 1 tags. Then I die cut the 25 tags using the Tim Holtz Tag &Ties die.

To decorate the envelopes I used a variety of dies. The numbers were die cut using Wordplay alphabet die and the hearts and labels are Pete Hughes framelits designs.

I am quite pleased with the finished result and I am hoping that I will keep it for years to come!
