"Together" layout by Gerry van Gent

Hello Sizzix Peeps!
Did you have a great week so far? I hope so :-)

Well, I am an Instagram fan and I love posting photos there taken
with my phone. Some of the photos I take are really faves and worth
scrapping. Just like this photo of my kids - had to treasure up it on a layout.
For my blog post today I used the absolutely awesome Sizzix Big Shot Plus
machine and some of the awesome dies included in the Starter Kit!

I began creating the layout by die cutting the scalloped tags - two of each size.
For the tags I used corrugated cardboard which I left "natural" ...
c9

From the Decorative Trim #2 die set I used the hearts border....
I die cut it a few times and I outlined some of the hearts with white pen.
c3

The beautiful flower die from the Starter Kit was die cut in total 6 times.
For each flower I used two different colors.
c4

c8

I wanted the background to be more playful so....
I cut separately some of the hearts from Decorative Trim #2
and adhered them on the background.
c5

I am so in love with the butterflies from the Starter Kit....
they are so intricate and pretty!
For my project I die cut the butterflies lots of times and
I simply layered them - I prepared 3 "sets" of butterflies...
c1
One of the layered butterflies was cut in the middle and used
for decoration at both (left/right) edges.

"Be Happy" layout by Gerry van Gent

Hello Sizzix friends!
Happy Sunday to all of you!

Today I have another layout to share with you... this time
mixing some new and old dies which were so much fun to play with.
This photo (of my daughter and I) makes me smile and feel so happy -
a great memory of last Summer so I decided to scrap it and of course
Happiness Phrases dies were the perfect touch to it.

To make the butterflies I used my favourite brown fabric canvas.
On top I adhered another layer of the pretty Butterflies but this time I
used another material - sort of hard fabric which looks like grid.
They used it as anti-slip underlay for carpets/rugs (Ikea)

To make my butterfly pop and catch attention I added
a small flower and I added cute white antennae....

Before I used the Mixed Media thinlits die I
cut a strip of the bottom part of the background pattern paper (approx. 6cm).
Then I die cut the paper strip from begin to end - using 4 times the Mixed Media die.

Bedroom door sign and Bookmarks for girls by Anna

Hello! It's Anna here. How are you doing on this pretty Friday morning?
Today I made this simple personalised door sign, perfect for a child's bedroom, for any princess in your life!
It's a very satisfying, relatively simple project and super charming...

Let me show you how it’s done!

sizzix big shot - tutorial - door hanger-canvas-decor-girl-room - targa-fuoriporta-bambini-cameretta by Anna Drai - cafecreativo

I started with a sheet of cardboard and a piece of fabric.
I die cut the names of my nieces from Alphanumeric Thinlits Set.
Extra dimension was added with various felt hearts die-cut with Bigz Die Heartfelt by Tim Holtz.
If you want add stitches.

I used a mix of pale colours including lilac, pink, aqua, but it can be personalised with a special name and colour scheme.
A perfect gift for all occasions, ideal for a new baby, that can be hung from a bedroom door or perhaps above a bed.
An idea for your craft room door, also ;)
Furthermore, with my “negative” die-cut names, I created two fun bookmarks:

It's quick and easy to make a personalised bookmark with this fabulous die set!
All this productivity has made me weary! I think it's time for a coffee! :D
Enjoy the weekend! ♥

Per le amiche italiane! :)

:D Come mi piacerebbe prenderlo insieme a voi!

Buon week-end! ♥

The subtle look of honeycomb and butterflies - by Janna Werner.

Hello everyone, this is Janna. Today I would like to share two cards. Actually, it did not take very long to create them, so this is another great last minute idea (recently I have tons of them ;) ).
Here´s the first card..

Material list:
657900 Big Shot or
658300 Big Shot Starter Kit
657846 Sizzix Texture Fades Honeycomb
card base: Tchibo
patterned paper, sticker: Crate Paper
twine, vellum, petals, doilies: Stampin´Up
glitter: American Crafts
spray: October Afternoon
other: sewing machine

I cut the banners by hand, but Sizzix offers lots of great banner dies as well. I used the embossing folder only on the middle part of the paper, otherwise the pattern would have been too massive.
And here comes the second card..

Material list:
657900 Big Shot or
658300 Big Shot Starter Kit (the butterfly die is included in the kit)
card base: Tchibo
patterned paper, vellum bag, clip, frame: Crate Paper
twine: Garn und Mehr
pearls, cardstock: Stampin´Up
other: liquid pearls (Ranger Ink), sewing machine

The butterfly die from the Big Shot Starter Kit is one of my favorite dies right now - I love the clean and friendly design which fits any project. I wrapped the twine around the clothespin and afterwards, around the card. If wanting to open the card, you’d have to unwrap it first, just like a present. As the twine is attached to the clothespin, it won’t get lost upon opening the card.

I hope you liked today´s inspiration, please browse my Sizzix gallery for more fun projects and tutorials.

See you next thursday!

Materialliste:
657900 Big Shot oder
658300 Big Shot Starter Kit
657846 Sizzix Texture Fades Honeycomb
Kartenrohling: Tchibo
Patterned Paper, Sticker: Crate Paper
Twine, Vellum, Blüten, Doilies: Stampin´Up
Glitter: American Crafts
Spray: October Afternoon

Materialliste:
657900 Big Shot oder
658300 Big Shot Starter Kit (Schmetterling Die ist im Kit enthalten)
Kartenrohling: Tchibo
Patterned Paper, Vellumbeutel, Clip, Rahmen: Crate Paper
Twine: Garn und Mehr
Perlen, Cardstock: Stampin´Up

Wall decoration with the Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit by Janna Werner.

Hello there, this is Janna with a new inspirational post on the Sizzix UK blog. Today I would like to share a scrapbooking page - well, actually it is more a wall decoration as I did not use any photos. I used only dies from the Big Shot Starter Kit: butterflies and circles.

Material list:
658300 Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit (including BS machine and dies)
flower dies
cardstock: Bazzill
paper, twine, crepe paper, tea pot: Stampin´Up
vellum: American Crafts, Dear Lizzy
spray: Heidi Swapp
glitter glue: American Crafts
tag, washi tape, paint mediums, brush, water, pencil, sewing machine, scissors

The Starter Kit includes
  • Big Shot (+ standard cutting pads and multipurpose platform)
  • 1 Bigz die (Basic Shapes)
  • 2 Medium Sizzlits dies (Butterfly, Delicate; Flowers #20)
  • 1 Framelits die set (Basic Shapes)
  • 1 A2 Large Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Dotted Lattice)
  • 10 Assorted Samples of Core’dinations Cardstock

I was recently trying out a few techniques - I used different paint mediums and sprays on a tag and in the end I liked it so much that I wanted to incorporate the tag in a wall decoration for my craft room.

I cut the flowers on the tag by hand, but you can perfectly use any Sizzix flower die for it. One flower is made of cardstock, for the other I used crepe paper.

The butterflies on the left are cut of crepe paper and vellum. I used watercolor on the vellum ones. I added lots of water, this lets the vellum roll up on the edges which adds a nice dimensional look to a project.

I used black spray to add contrast and depth to the page and highlightened the vellum butterflies with glitter glue.

I hope you enjoyed today´s inspiration. If you are interested in how to create a super easy (and fast) mini album for (mini) Polaroid photos, you might want to read the post I shared last week, just click right here. If you are looking for scrapbooking and card inspiration, you can find my previous Sizzix projects by following this link or on my Instagram account. By the way, if you haven´t seen it yet, Sizzix is also on Instagram. If you click on the designer´s photos on the right side of the blog, they will lead you to more fantastic projects!

Materialliste:
658300 Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit (inkl. BS Maschine und Dies)
Blumen-Dies
Cardstock: Bazzill
Papier, Twine, Krepppapier, Teekessel: Stampin´Up
Vellum: American Crafts, Dear Lizzy
Spray: Heidi Swapp
Glitzerkleber: American Crafts
Tag, Washi Tape, Farbmedien, Pinsel, Wasser, Bleistift, Nähmaschine, Schere

Im Starter Kit sind enthalten:
  • Big Shot (+ standard cutting pads and multipurpose platform)
  • 1 Bigz die (Basic Shapes)
  • 2 Medium Sizzlits dies (Butterfly, Delicate; Flowers #20)
  • 1 Framelits die set (Basic Shapes)
  • 1 A2 Large Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Dotted Lattice)
  • 10 Assorted Samples of Core’dinations Cardstock

Mini album with washi tape binding by Janna Werner.

Hello everyone, this is Janna.
Today I´d like to share a mini album that I created for my upcoming 4-day-journey to Oslo. I am going to take it along on the trip and will use it as a smash book.

Material list:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
657691 Sizzix Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves
657495 Sizzix On The Edge Die - Butterflight
656938 Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Tag & Bookplates
658284 Sizzix Textured Impressions - Chevrons & Flourishes
patterned paper: Dear Lizzy, Crate Paper, Studio Calico
rhinestones, doily, twine, crepe paper, petals: Stampin´ Up
washi tape: Tim Holtz
alpha sticker: American Crafts, Dear Lizzy
other: sewing machine, white thread

I gathered paper scraps in different sizes and arranged them on top of each other. To create a fluffy appearance mix large and small pieces. I only used happy, springlike colors such as pink, yellow, turquoise...

There are many ways of binding a mini album, but why choosing the most difficult binding, when an easy one is as effective?! I love the look of the washi tape binding.

The tag was cut with the Movers & Shapers Die - Tag & Bookplates - one of my favorite dies. The butterflies were cut with the On The Edge Die - Butterflight, the heart with the Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves. As you can see, I used the heart die on crepe paper. Love the way it turned out.

If you have a closer look at the top and bottom part of the first paper you´ll notice a decent chevron pattern. I used the Textured Impressions - Chevrons & Flourishes embossing folder, but instead of running the paper through the Big Shot machine, I placed the paper in the folder and pressed with my hands.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great and crafty day, everyone!

Materialliste:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
657691 Sizzix Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves
657495 Sizzix On The Edge Die - Butterflight
656938 Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Tag & Bookplates
658284 Sizzix Textured Impressions - Chevrons & Flourishes
Patterned Paper: Dear Lizzy, Crate Paper, Studio Calico
Rhinestones, Doily, Twine, Krepppapier, Blütenblätter: Stampin´ Up
Washi Tape: Tim Holtz
Alphas: American Crafts, Dear Lizzy

Janna
