Create your own tags!

Hello everyone!

Today, I would like to show you probably my most favorite BIGZ die of all time! The Tag & Bookplate BIGZ die :) You can do anything with it!

Of course, Sizzix has come with a lot of different tags dies, it's the kind of shape you can use over and over on your crafty projects, scrapbook layouts, mini albums, home decor, invitations, cards and more.

These are also some favorite, as you can vary sizes and shapes easily :

The Tiny Tabs die

The Tag #3 die set

Today, let me show you a layout I made for Studio Calico using the The Tag & Bookplate BIGZ die :)
For this layout, you'll need :

Simply cut your tag shapes into a smooth white cardstock and spray mists on top of each tag.

It's as simple as that! :)
I then created a vellum pocket on my layout and embellished it with wood veneers, vellum arrows, stickers and such.

What I really like is that you can use tags anytime, on any kind of projects!

I would love to see your projects used with Sizzix Tags dies! :)
Take care!

Advent Diary - final part

Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. My husband and I went to my parents home in Mallorca, where i grew up. It is a beautiful island and we were blessed with ten days of sunshine and warm temperatures which is unusual for this time of year even in Mallorca.

I am happy to report that I finished my Advent diary. (Previous posts here and here.)

I mostly did all the writing during the month except for the days we were away. the pictures though I had to wait until a few days ago as I did not have a computer until then.

I printed all my mobile photos the same size and by accident I prented the date and time when they were taken. Now, I would usually trim that info away, but since the aim of this project was to tell what, when and where we did this advent, I thought it was best to keep it as it would provide extra info.

For the photos I die cut extra tags out of acetate using the same Tag & Tie die from Tim Holtz, and attached them where ever possible.

Each day has number tag that is decorated with the number die cut with the Wordplay Tim Holtz die, then either a single paper tag, acetate one or a mix of them.

Of course, the 25th had many pages since it is my birthday and I did take more than usual photos.

Once completed, I joined them all with one of the Tim Holtz chain balls, I prefer those to the ring binders and those seem to stick out and are harder to store.
As you can see is a rather large tag book, but I shall treasure as it contains a record of 25 really special days.

My adventdiary project

When a couple of months ago I did this advent project (which is basically a diary of the December days before Christmas)  I tried to convince myself that I would indeed make the reform to write something per each day tag. I knew that was a hard task, never been good at diaries!

But funnily enough all the tags are up to date though I need  to finish the front covers for each day (like the above one).

Since my best friend was in town for a few days, some of the days have extra tags!

This is how the advent diary is looking today. Minimal changes from the original, basically the made up tags are the ones with the hole reinforcers.

Advent Calendar + Mini Album

Every year I wish I had time to make a Advent Calendar, but until this year it was that, a wish. But this year I saw something online that made me rush to my craft studio and make one way ahead of time.

This is, in fact, not really an advent calendar but and advent collector to make a mini album. Instead of each day getting something, my aim is to put something, whether be a photo, a thought or a brief résumé of what we did that day. At the end of the month, I will collect the tags, put a ring binder through and voila, I will have a mini album of the run to Christmas 2012! Next year a new batch of tags will be done and a new mini album will be finished. Well, that is the idea.

You will probably think that Advent calendars have 24 windows, not 25. Since I was born on Christmas Day, it would be rude not to have one tag on my birthday!

To make it I used one cheap frame from Ikea. It is rather large but it has a plastic backing rather than a glass one which is very useful if you want to drill holes through it.
It just so happens that the Tim Holtz Pocket Envelope die is perfect size to fit all 24 + 1 tags. Then I die cut the 25 tags using the Tim Holtz Tag &Ties die.

To decorate the envelopes I used a variety of dies. The numbers were die cut using Wordplay alphabet die and the hearts and labels are Pete Hughes framelits designs.

I am quite pleased with the finished result and I am hoping that I will keep it for years to come!
