Watercolor Birthday Card and a Pillow Box

Hey everybody,
for some reason I love matching birthday sets. A cute card with a matching box for a small gift are always a fun idea. Yesterday, I had the chance to give away this summer set.

Before I used the Intricate Tribal Florals Thinlits to create these pretty flowers, I prepared watercolor paper with some paint. Just a little tipp: use a lot of water and let the color drop into it! So the color can swim wherever it wants to.

And use the magnetic platform for die cutting! It´s just awesome that your thinlits stay were you put them on and don´t slide away. ;)

Do you like this set? Tell me what you think about it. :)

List of supplies I used:
Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit (White & Gray) #660515
Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 5PK - Intricate Tribal Florals
Sizzix Accessory - Cutting Pads, Standard, 1 Pair (Mint)
Sizzix Accessory - Standard Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies
Sizzix Pillow Boxes
Watercolor paper and paint, brushes
Light green cardstock and vellum
Heat tool and white embossing powder, versamark stamp pad

Have a nice weekend and a lot of sun in your life! :)

Creative ideas for summer party

Hi everyone, It’s Anna here and I'm so excited to be here today sharing a fun idea for Summer!
I love the new Sizzix Big Shot Plus starter Kit! I’m going to show you how to use this kit and two other dies for your summer party. I used also the nice flower from Botanical Bloom collection design by Craft Asylum.
With a bright yellow selection of lemons and flowers, I created: garland, little baskets and party invites.
There is nothing like enjoying refreshing citrus on a warm summer’s day! ;)

Let's party!!!

Let me explain you how to make the garland:
1- Fold the paper doilies in half.
2- Created your lemon using two circles (cut in half) and three leaves of Starter Kit. Assemble the lemon and add to the doily.
3- Place twine between the layers of any doily and glue together.
4- Cut out more flowers using Bigz Die - Bountiful Botany #2 , I used also a piece of mesh bag of lemons to created a flower. Layer the shapes to created two beautiful flowers and add.
So, is an easy and fun way to set the scene at your next party or celebration!

Sizzix Cutting Pads are now colored in a new delicious flavor: mint!!! With striking color, these deliciously colored Cutting Pads can be easily spotted on any work station.
I used also the useful Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies. For perfect registration, this Magnetic Platform uses high-grade magnets to hold Thinlits, Framelits and other chemically-etched, wafer-thin dies securely in place during cutting.

Per le amiche italiane! :)

Set of summer cards, Part 2/2: Beach ball

Hi Sizzix friends!

Today I want to show you the second of the two summer cards I have made. I have used the same framelit but in this case the result is a fun beach ball.

This is the card:

The summer is a beach time, so this ball reminds me the fun days playing with our children, so it is perfect for decorating this card to welcome the summer.

Here are the materials you need to die-cut:

For the beach ball a piece of green, blue and orange cardstock, the circles Framelits, pieces of different blue colours for the waves and the decorative scallops strip die.

And now the steps to create this beach ball using only a circle die and the other steps to complete the card:

Die-cut a blue, a green and an orange circles.

Then die-cut only these parts of the orange circle.

Then die-cut these parts of the green circle.

We have the beach ball pieces!!!
The green parts are slightly over the edges of the blue circle,
make sure the top is positioned well!!! (The die-cut blue circle is a complete shape)

Then die-cut different blue colours cardstock using the decorative scallops strip die to
resemble the waves in our card.

And now we have all the pieces for our card!!!

Draw a dotted line on the ball.  And don’t worry about the bottom of the ball
because anyway it will be hidden between the waves.

Now we can put all the pieces together and stamp the message.

Set of summer cards, Part 1/2: Watermelon

Hi Sizzix friends!

Today I want to show you the first of the two summer cards I have made. They are very clean and simple but with a fun result. The inspiration for these cards came from the way that Sizzix designer and blogger Pete Hughes takes profit of the dies and his example has motivated me to play with simple summer shapes.

Let me show you the first card:

For me watermelon is the fruit of the summer, so it is perfect for decorating this card to welcome the summer.

Here are the materials you need to die-cut:

For the watermelon a piece of green and red cardstock, the circles Framelits, a piece of white cardstock, the decorative scallops strip die and the candy hearts embossing folder.

And now the steps to create this watermelon using only a circle die and the other steps to complete the card:

 Die-cut a green circle.

Then die-cut only a part of the circle.

Then die-cut a half circle in the red cardstock.

 We have the watermelon pieces!!!

Die-cut a decorative strip in white cardstock to resemble a tablecloth in our card.

Emboss the decorative strip using the heart embossing folder.

And now we have all the pieces for the card !!!

But before putting all the pieces together, I have painted the seeds using a black gel pen.

Now we just have to put all the pieces together and add the message using a stamp or handwriting depending on what you prefer.

More details of the card:

I have used the following Sizzix products:

I hope you have enjoyed this summer card and see you next week with the second card of the set. Thanks for your visit!

Have a creative and happy Friday!

He utilizado los siguientes productos Sizzix:
