Christmas Card mix and match

Christmas is coming so it is time for a quick Christmas card.

I always leave it to the last minute, if the last day for Christmas post is the 20th, I will make them franticly on the 19th. Seriously. Never learn.

For thise one I thought it would be a good idea to use elements from different sets from The Winter Moments collection:

I just then layered on a white card (6 x 6 inches) and one I was happy with the position I glue the bits to the front of the card.

Well, now, I really should make a start on those Christmas cards...

A "Merry Christmas" Card by Gerry van Gent

Happy Sunday Sizzix friends!
Today I prepared for you a Christmas Card using some
gorgeous new & old Sizzix dies.

659127 Sizzix Thinlits Dies Frame Layers & Flower #2
657906 Sizzix Framelits Dies Frame, Snowflake
659131 Sizzix Thinlits Dies Labels, Long
658622 Sizzix Framelits Dies w/ Stamps Snowflakes #2
*  *  *

Card Size: 12.5 cm x 14cm
To make the circle I used two different dies.
From the  Frame Layers & Flower #2 die I used the inside circle
of the doily which is the solid, main circle.
Then I used the Frame, Snowflake die as this one I used
as a frame. I distressed with ink and adhered on top of the
solid circle.

The round shaped dates you see are fussy cut from the
pattern paper and then glued on top of the die-cut snowflakes.

I love this new set with long labels - it`s so intricate and
beautiful.
Labels, Long
For my card I combined two of those labels.
The smallest label is used as a base of the title.
From the largest label only the top ornate part
was used to decorate the smallest label on the card.

Snowflakes on Acetate Card

I love floating snowflakes, the best way to achieve that look on a card is by using acetate. However acetate is tricky. Here you have a simple idea on how to do it properly.

First problem is how to attach things on to acetate. The best way is to use dry adhesives - double side tape, sticky dots...

The second problem is the lack of white card to write the message on. Solution, a die cut - I used the Fancy Banners Framelit set - in the inside and outside of the back. This will offer you a white card on the back of the card to write your message. By putting another die cut on the inside, it means that the adhesive is completely covered as well.

To create the snowflakes I first stamped five using the Snowflakes 2. I used ultra smooth card and Versafine Deep Lagoon ink.

Once I die cut them with the matching Framelit die, I joined them with a tiny drop of white glue. Then on the back, I attached a glue dot.

Once attached to the acetate card front, of course the glue dot shows from the inside. Not to worry, I just die cut the centers  - this set comes with dies for each snowflake center - and attached them with glue dots to the inside of the card to cover them up perfectly.

To add the message, I stamped it using some of my personal clear stamps and then die cut it using one of the Tags for Sentiments Framelit set.

Simple, but I think it is rather effective!
I hope you like it too.

A "Santa's Coming" Card by Gerry van Gent

I fussy cut two florals with leaves which I used separately to decorate the snowflakes.

A "Dear Santa" Gift Box by Gerry van Gent

Happy Sunday Sizzix friends!
Today I'd love to share with you a gift box I created
for a small present that I'll give during Christmas holidays.
The box size is approximately 16cm x 7cm.
657900 Sizzix Big Shot machine
658735 Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die Winter Florals
658621 Sizzix Framelits Die Set w/Stamps Flowers, Star
658622 Sizzix Framelits Die Set w/Stamps Snowflakes #2
658615 Sizzix Decorative Strip Die Leafy Border

I due cut once the Winter Florals decorative strip from white cardstock
and cut in two parts. Then I "wrapped" the box with the two pieces and
adhered them partly. Some of the stars from the strip die I used
to decorate the box.

I continued the "wrapping" on the left side of the gift box and
I added a small label from the pattern paper "It`s Christmas".
The right side of the boxes was left "clean" so the box will be open
easily without being damaged.

The Flowers, Star was die-cut from different pattern papers and
glued on top of one another. I added a small die-cut snowflake
and added a tiny gem in the middle of the flower as a final touch.

OTHER PRODUCTS I USED:
Webster's Pages - "It`s Christmas" collection
Webster's Pages - trinkets

I hope you enjoyed my project today!
Have a creative Sizzix Sunday!
