Hello again! First of all I want to wish you a Very Happy New Year!
I hope the holidays were good to you and that you feel ready for all the joys and challenges that
2015 will bring!!

After the holidays I feel a need to give thanks for all I have received. I have started to make some 'Thank You' cards that I will give to friends and family.

A Summer page in December.

Hi there.
Today I have a page for you that has nothing what so ever to do with Winter. :-)
I wanted to make a Summer page,...so I did. :-)

Here are a couple of close ups:
In this shot you see the Bigz alphabet die Block Talk. I cut out the letters from thin chipboard and I love the way they look. I dabbed them with some creamy brown chalk ink as well.

And here I used the Circle Scallop die:

Papers are from the Polish manufacturer Lemoncraft and chipboard word from Blue Fern Studios.

Idag har jag en sida att visa som inte alls har med vintern att göra. Jag var sugen på att göra en sommar-sida, så då gjorde jag detr! :-)

Cute gift bags using 'Christmas Trims #1 and #2.

Hi there friends of Sizzix!

I hope all is going well with your special plans and Christmas preparations.

For today I made a couple of decorated gift bags.
I guess we are all going to need a lot of those in the next few days :-)

I used a couple of small ready made kraft bags and decorated them with pretty patterned papers and flowers from Norwegian manufacturer Papirdesign.

I am very fond of thes cute Christmas Trims #1 and #2  sets by Sizzix designer Debi Potter.
I think this little snowman is super cute.
The set comes with a sweet little bird and a tree as well that are perfect for making gift tags.

So you see, as long as you have the right dies there is a lot that you can do even with limited time.
No need to fret even if you  have not been able to finish everything yet. (I am sure you are not alone.) Good Luck!

Hej alla vänner av Sizzix!
Jag hoppas att alla har framgång i sina julförberedelser. För detta inlägget har jag preparerat några små söta presentkassar. Jag tror att vi alla kommer behöva en hel del av denna sorten under de närmaste dagarna.Kassarna har jag köpt färdiga. Jag har dekorerat dom med fina papper och decorationer från norska Papirdesign.
Jag tycker mycket om Christmas Trims #1 and #2  av Sizzix designer Debi Potter. Denna snömannen är jättesöt. De andra diesen i set'et är bl a en gran och en söt fågel, och dessa är perfekta för att göra presentlappar.
Som ni ser så finns det fortafarande tid att göra mycket bara man har de rätta diesen och ideerna.
Om du inte är riktigt klar än så är du nog inte ensam,.... Lykka till med inspurten!

Bente's last minute Christmas cards

 


Hi Sizzix friends!
Today I am sharing some last minute Christmas cards using the basic oval shape and a couple of the new sets this Winter.

 I used the ovals die to cut out a sweet vintage picture of  some wintery children I used the largest oval for this one.

Here I used  the Tim Holtz 'Holiday block words' and one of the snowflakes from a lovely set by Paula Pascual.

For the next one I used the Tim Holtz 'Holiday greens' die with four different  seasonal leaf/twig shapes.

And here finally is a picture of all three cards in the set.

So you see,...if you have not yet finished your cards it's still not too late.
Making a few simple but cute cards is so easy :-)

Bente week 4 'Gift Ideas'

 


 Hello Sizzix friends!

Not long now until Father Christmas makes an effort to squeeze down througn the chimney and we'll be gathering with our near and dear ones to enjoy lovely food and maybe open a heartfelt gift or two. I will be giving away both storebought gifts and a few small tokens of appreciation that I have made myself. The theme for this post is actually one of those cute little pieces that I made myself.
It's a brooch that I made for an elderly relative.

I also made a matching pair of earrings in the shape of a snowflake.

I used one of the Tim Holtz plastic sheets (that are great for embossing!) and glued it to my paper as reinforcement. Once again I used the pretty download papers that you can get for free. -Love them!

I used the circle scallop die to cut some glitter-tulle to add in between layers.

I cut out the different sizes of snowflakes from paper/plastic, and from heavy felt as well.

I started with the larger size in paper/plastic and glued the other snowflakes oone on top of the other. As a second layer I used the tulle to add som sparkle and 'frostiness'.

After I glued on the smallest flake I actually added some freshwater pearls to the center as well as some liquid pearl.

Finally I sewed a pin to a small piece of felt  and glued it to the back.
As you see; very easy and fun to do!

Bentes Christmas tree decorations for week 3.

 

 

 Hi, I am back this Sunday to share some decorations I made for my tree using the beautiful free download papers and a few of my favourite dies.

De dies I used were the scalloped circle , the oval and  and the snowflake from the Winter borders & rosette set.

 I added pop dots between the layers to add some more interest to my ornaments.

I hope you like my ornaments and will try making them. It's a nice thing to do in family with in the kids as they are pretty straight forward to make and the design can be varied to make different styles.

Bente's Week 2 post 'Gift wrap & Tags'.

 

Hi and welcome to my week 2 post using the gorgeous free papers that you can download from the Sizzix web page. There is a link at the end of my post :-)

This week here at Sizzix UK we are focusing on gift wrapping and making cute tags for the recipients. I have been busy doing some of that too, and here is the result:

I used some of my fave dies at the moment for my giftwrap and tags.
The 'Circles, scallop' finds it's way to most of my projects.And when I am thinking of a seasonal project the 'Winter Borders and Rosette' by the talented Paula Pascual is one of the first sets I look for.

As I said I used the free downloadable papers here and the snowflake on blue is one of the neat little labels on them. I love how it turned out after I used the scallopped circle to cut it out.

I used the snowflake-patterned strips as they are and added a single little white snowflake as well. For a different texture I also used a silvery chipboard snowflake. It is so much fun to use corrugated cardboard for giftwrapping as it will almost always turn out looking rustic and decorative. It is also such a great way to recycle something you would otherwise throw away. :-)

Hej och välkomna till vecka 2 av hur vi kan använda de fina papprena som du kan ladda ner helt gratis från Sizzix hemsida. En länk finns i produktlistan på slutet.

Denna veckan har vi fokuserat på att göra fina inslagningar och tags. Det har jg också gjort och här är resultatet:

Jag använde några av mina favorit dies för ögonblicket. 'Circles scallop' kommer med på de flesta av mina projekt just nu, och ska jag göra något vinter/jul relaterat så är en av de första jag använder  'Winter Borders and Rosette' av den duktiga Paula Pascual.

Som jag sa så använde jag gratis papprena för mina paket och den lilla snöflingan med blå bakgrund är ett av de söta motiven att klippa ut.


Jag använde de tryckte stripen med snöflingor som de är och la till en extra liten snöflinga i vitt. För att få lite extra textur använde jag en färdig silvrig chipboard snöflinga. Jag tycker det är jättekul att använd wellpapp för att slå in paket. Det ser så härligt rustikt ut och det är dessutom ett bra sätt att återanvända något som kanske annars skulle hamnat i soptunnan. ;-)

'Happy Birthday' Step Up Card.

Hi there!
I would like to show you a recent card I made using one of the new framelits dies.
I have never made a card like that before and was eager to try it when the die arrived in my mailbox.

Here is a picture of it:

It was really easy to make. I started by diecutting the large cardbase. It comes out with all the marks  and creases that you need. So you can trust the card will not be crooked and turn out equally nice each and every time. There are actually different sets of step up cards, but as you see I decided upon the birthday one.

At first I made all the bends of the card following the pre made creases.
Then I glued down the smaller die cut pieces that serve to embellish the card.
I inked around the edges with a light coloured inkpad.

Maybe this shot gives you a better idea of how the card is put together.
I know I will probably make quite a few more step up cards as they are pretty quick to make once you've made the first one. And they can also be varied with different kinds of embellishments.
You should give them a try .-)

Hej där!
I dag vill jag gärna visa er ett kort som jag gjort med ett av de nya  framelits setten.
Jag har inte provat att göra ett sådant trapp-kort innan så jag var mycket nyfiken på det när jag fick diesen i lådan :-)

Såhär blev det:
Det var ganska enkelt att göra. Jag startade med att göra den stora basen för kortet. Den stansas klar med alla veck etc som behövs. På så sätt vet du att alla korten blir likadana och inget blir snett. det finns olika sett men jag har valt ett som är speciellt för födelsedagar.

Först bockade jag till alla kortets veck. Det gick lätt eftersom det mesta arbetet gjorts redan av diesen. Sedan limmade jag dit tect, ballonger etc för att pynta kortet. Innan jag limmade fast dom så inkade jag runt kanten med en ljus stämpeldyna.

Denna bilden ger kanske en bättre ide om hur kortet kommer till.
Jag kommer helt säkert att göra fler trappkort med tanke på hur lätt det är när man väl provat.
Man kan variera korten också genom att använda andra utstansade motiv och pynt.
Varför inte prova!!? :-)

Santa christmas card

Don't you just love this Santa image!!
I think it's the epitome of Christmas symbols. It's a new Tim Holtz Bigz die and so fun to work with.

Lets start with the background,... I used a bought cardbase thet was 15 cm square. I cut out a 14 cm square piece of subtly patterned cardstock. To add some more interest to my simple background I wanted to emboss this piece. It was actually to large for my embossing folder, but being a bit careful I placed the bit thet had not been embossed in the folder and embossed again. It turned out quite pretty.

After cutting out he pieces for the Santa I used two different shades of chalk inkers to add some depth to them.

I backed my embossed piece with some red cardstock to pull it all together and added a small snowflake as an extra accent. I inked the snowflake carefully embellished it with a half pearl and some liguid pearl medium.

I hope you like this Santa as much as I do. It's a Bigz die and to me that is always an added bonus!!

Notepad Cover mini album.

Hi again!
Today I've had a play with one of my new Bigz dies and a couple of thinlits as well. Today's main event is the Notepad Cover by Brenda Walton. Originally it's meant to use to spruce up your ordinary post-it notes, but I decided I wanted to use it to make a small album.

Here are some pictures I took along the way:

Cut out as many pages as you like for the inside of your mini album. A good size would to fit inside this cover would be ca 7 cm square.

I made small holes in all the pages for the binding and after pulling the thread through I added some glue to the knot to make sure it will hold.

I used the new Scalloped circles for my inside pages. I cut some of my photos with them and also made journalling spots.

I added some Liquid pearl to the outside cover after inking the edges.

After finishing my little 'book' for the  inside I used  some double tape to add it to the back of the cover.
