Smash book - 2

Hi all!

Some time ago I showed two-page layouts from my smash book (about trip to Antalia). I continue creating this smash book. And today I would like to show you next two page-layout.  These layouts are about yacht.

As always Big Shot helped me to create these layouts.

Items used:

Big Shot Machine (655268)
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 4PK - Frames, Instant (658608)
Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 6PK - For the Record (659108)
Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Curly #2 (657706)

To create these cute waves under yacht, I used Curly #2 Strip Die.

Have a nice day!

Daria.

Sizzix Framelits Die Set 4PK - Frames, Instant (658608) -
Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 6PK - For the Record (659108) -
Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Curly #2 (657706) -

Smash book

Hi al!

Today I would like to show you two-page layouts to my smash book. Last year we had trip to Antalya. And these pages are about the Beach and the Sea. In my smash book I like to create a lot of layers. I used different papers, decorative tapes, journaling cards, stickers and etc to create a lot of layers. And dies are my big helpers.

This is my first two-page layout. It’s about the Beach. I created these pages some time ago.

Items used:

I used hearts die to create my background more interesting. And I used the resulting holes to write my journaling. Also I used Make It Crafty digi stamp to create this beach umbrella. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils, cut out and glue onto layout.

I used Card Fronts die to create the opening element. I like to use different opening elements to fit on the page many photos.

This is my second two-page layout. It’s about the Sea. And these pages are new.

Items used:
Big Shot Machine (655268)

I used Flourish die – because they are look like waves. And I used more different dies to make my pages more varied.

Have a nice day

Daria.

Big Shot.

Smash book. First Spread

 By Paula Pascual

Today I am sharing the first spread of my 2012 smash book. Since I love snow and we had some at the begining of the year, I decided to star the book with some photos of it.

Because I had plenty of photos, this spread was led by the placing of the photos. Once I was happy with them I started die cutting and decorating.

The snowman is a bigz die which means that it cut felt like butter!

For the hat I wanted to replicate the hat on the picture which was a red plastic bucket. The easiest way was to emboss it using Wow's Apple red embossing powder. I love their embossing powders, the colours are great.

I finished to embellish the Snowman with buttons and black crystals. The journalling sot was created with the damask Frame framelit and by drawing some lines across.

In the opposite page I added a heart and a vintage lace strip.

And then I added this vellum snowflake that I cut and emboss with a Basic Grey for Sizzix embosslit.

To attach the letters (cut using the Alphabetical die) I used low tack to keep them in place. Then applied PVA or tacky glue with a fine applicator.

Position the low tack tape in place, rub gently over the letters and let the glue dry in place. then I lifted the low tack tape.

I know these pages will not win me any design award, but that is the beauty of Smah books, you are free to create pages that capture your memories, photos and memorabilia, design only comes second!

Smash book project

 By Paula Pascual

One of this year long projects is for me to make a smash book about all the places I go to, even places like the village next to us. As much as I love scrapbooking and mini albums, I always seem to forget to really forget to document what I do. Usually I keep my layouts design based so I really fancied doing something that really keeps my memories first and my design/crafting elements are secondary. Still, I love to create and design so that will still be fairly important!

So today I will share the inside title page.
I die cut the Numbers, Vintage lace and Hearts using papers from the Basic Grey Out of Print collection.

My first thoughts were to make it rather clean looking, but then I decided to have fun with this one page since I did not have many photos or memorabilia to incorporate. So, I decided on hand stamp without an acrylic block this large unmounted stamp from Hero Arts. The writing pattern goes well with the papers that I selected for the die cuts.

This is a small trick that I use all the time for positioning. Very often (if not always) I lay elements together and only at the very last moment I start gluing them. That means that I have to lift some elements in order to glue the other layers, or to stamp anything underneath. For that I use low tack tape (not masking tape, it rips most papers) which will keep the right positioning and will make it a breeze to attach them at the end. To glue the numbers I just use small amount of PVA glue while they were on the tape and then positioned them in place and press over them. After a few minutes you can remove the low tack tape safely.

Use the left overs as mask and dab gently colour pastels - I love Pan Pastels! - or chalks -which are much less intense.

To add texture and a bit of sparkle, I glittered the first 2 using StarDust Stickles. Then I added the photo.

I finally added the subtitle - Olympic Year, cut with the Inside Out alphabet. Last thing, make sure that you seal the pastels with a sealant, I love DecoArt Matt Acrylic Sealant spray.

Hopefully along the following months I will be able to share the pages that I am doing. Wish me luck!
