ONE FELL SWOOP - A Little Terrycloth Number

The under-rated,underground,outsider ,cult-band ,spawned from the fumes of Cat Machine ,recorded this ,their 22nd (!) album ,on Nov.21 ,1991. I don't recall how the album got it's title ,but a few songs on this one ,resemble the Birthday Party ,lyrically, musically ,and vocally! I'm talking specifically about the tunes, "Shirt Stuck" , "Drag Yard" , and "Blasted Gallows" , the titles of which even resemble something that would spew from the mind of Nick Cave. There are some really good songs on here, these guys shoulda made a record!

ONE FELL SWOOP - The Lungs Have Eyes

The 14th (!) release from this unheard,underground,outsider,cult-band ,who picked up where Cat Machine left off! This is one of my personal favorites from OFS ,with really good songs ,and a cover of "Night Of The Living Baseheads" ,by Public Enemy! A dog named,"Catfish" ,(the song has a weird breakdown in the middle ,with mechanical sounds and some sort of horn),"Mall Music", and "A Metal Thing" ,in which Gramps arrives at the end of the tune ,to talk/inquire about, "a metal thing". I mean this thing is great from start to finish,I really do enjoy it,and so should you. A good starting point ,for those not yet in the know! The album title relates to weed ,in some way! Recorded 10/22/1991, 20 years ago today!

KAAGOOTAABAA - Fuckin' Kill Yourself In A Shit-Eating Gay Bar

North Carolina's own Kaagootaabaa, is back with yet another release ,this time trippin' effects pedals and different instrumentation, other than his usual electric guitar ,which is also featured. This artist keeps pushing the boundaries of diy/indie rock ,further and deeper into the underground . Plus he is the first person to submit a Cat Machine cover song for the upcoming Cat Machine tribute disc! (he did the song "Paul Kline" ,in a minimalist fashion!)

CAT MACHINE - Teen-age Pez-head Punk Rock Spies

One of the most cohesive studio efforts,by the most under-rated,undiscovered,underground,outsider ,cult-bands of all time.Recorded on 4/2/1991,with Ed,Tony,Joel, and Chipmonk, this one has the hits!!Their 39th release ,features the college rock radio hit ,"When The Ape Man Smiles", which ,thru Chipmonk's contacts, managed to garner an audience, when it was played on several college campus radio stations, across the nation, most notably in Wisconsin.Other great compositions here ,include ,"All In The Family" , "Alcoholic Funk" ,and "Backstab" ,all sung by Joel. Chipmonk vocalizes on ,"Lunchbox Sabotage",and "Fly High Flyers" ,while Ed yells on ,"Spontaneously Combusting" , "My Mom's A Facist" and "The Things To Come. And Tony ,besides singing lead on "Ape Man" also kicks in with his crooning on "Gettin' Bent (Big Dead Ass). This is seriously really good! If you haven't heard anything from this year-long series yet ,I would suggest you might start here. This really shows their true talent of getting wasted, and banging out world class punk songs! The title was later appropriated by Sexboy ,for a song title .

CAT MACHINE - Slop Maintenance

Release # 38 from the greatest undiscovered,underground,outsider,cult-band,from Ft. Myers,FL , 3/30/1991.Ed,Joel,and Chipmonk, are here ,in full force, and Tony showed up for a few songs. One of their finest moments is here("Who Threw The Glass In The Street?"),based on a movie script ,from a Bob Dylan film.10 tunes, recorded in the 4-track studio. The quantity of songs is lower, the quality higher! This was a fertile creative period for the band, owing much to the recording techniques. The picture above, was stuck on the old Flying-V ,on the back, came from a trash can,and reminded me of Mel (Mel's Diner)from the TV show ,"Alice".

CAT MACHINE -Satan's Nerds

Number 33 release from this prolific, underground ,cult-band of outsiders! Ed,Joel,Tony,Chipmonk, and Billy, let it rip ,once again!Lots of great songs, and funny little skits, that last as long as this sentence.I won't even mention the songs on here, they're all fabulous!Very experimental ,in parts, and punk-rockin' in other sections!I don't remember how we titled it,AC-DC has nothing to do with it,tho' ,"The Nuge" is mentioned briefly! You just can't find a more interesting band,a true desert island sort of group! 3/12/1991

CAT MACHINE -Wrong Drug Right Time

There are a few true -story songs on here, most notably,"Paul Kline" ,and a song tied in with his ordeal ,"Baker Act".Paul was a school chum of mine, who killed a few people, after graduating high school.Weird titles and tunes abound ,such as:"Sok On A Fork"(a re-make of a tune from "Unplugged"),"Pathological Intoxication" ,"Wide Spectre" ,"Sniff The Clipper" ,"Violins Fucking Horns","Blowing Up Beatlemania","Sleeping In The Ashtray",and more! Chipmonk kicks in some of his weirdo lyrics on ,"I Had Lunch With Hitler's Cronies","Goat Ate The Payroll",and "Me And My 7 Foot Self" ,amongst others."100 Flowers Rule",shows our love for that group, and "Methadone Grease Spot",is a sonic guitar instrumental.Lots of oddness going on here,a truly underground,outsider,cult-band,these guys are.Their,(incredibly!) 30th release!!Just the core foursome here ,on 3/2/1991.

CAT MACHINE - God's Afterbirth

More from the greatest underground,undiscovered,outsider,cult-band.Everyone who is on this tape ,was tripping balls on some killer blotter,on this day ,2/23/1991.Ed,Tony,Joel,Chipmonk,and Billy Drake, were the band, and this one's a real doozy!!Recorded ,as usual,1-2-3-go! style, straight into a boom box,in Joel's room at Cat Machine house!!I would say you should imbibe some sort of intoxicants,to get full enjoyment from this recording. Some really great songs, crazy lyrics, insane playing, and the acid factor, all add up to a mountain of madness, and fun.Good times, none of us will probably ever get the chance to re-live,except through the magic of this tape. One of the eclectic band's greatest achievments,in their entire catalog! Highly (huh-huh) recommended.

CAT MACHINE -Vanilla Cave

Despite the cover art, there are no Nick Cave,or Birthday Party covers ,on this tape. There is an obligatory Fall number, and the special guest was Chris "Ashey"MacDonald. It was Ashey's debut as a singer, years before he sang for August Spies.I believe he also did some instrumentation.A really good, loud, punk rock, fun time, is in this download, their 27th full length!I can't say enough about Ashey,he's one of my favorite people in this world of shit and more shit! The world's greatest underground,outsider,cult-band,to ever change their pants!Ed,Joel,Tony, and Chipmonk, powered this one out on 2/19/1991, 20 years ago today!Time fucking flies!

CAT MACHINE -Tooth Breath Spewdom Not Sneeze

Don't know about that title, but the music is fine!Ed,Joel,Tony,Chipmonk, and special guests,Shane Carwile, and Billy Drake,on 2/16/1991,in the FTM.Really good tunes here include: "Song For Billy To Sing", "Song For Billy To Sing Again",(Billy never actually sings,or utters a word for that matter,on either of these tracks) ,"Gettin' The Gumption" ,"Suicidal Ballerina Blues" , "The Strangled Penguin's Chrome Glider Dream" , "Accidental Toaster","90 Cups Of Coffee An Hour",and "Cowering Spastics".The whole thing is great altogether,I'm just pointing out some highlights,or lowlights,as the case may be.The 26th release from this obtuse,outsider,unknown,undiscovered,cult-band,from Ft.Myers,Florida,80's thru 90's.Keep following their path to eventual destruction,in the rest of this year-long series, more coming soon!

CAT MACHINE -The Lively Set

On this, their 16th album,Ed,Joel, and Tony ,are not graced with any special guests. The original outsider trio, bash away at songs like,"Link In The Food Chain" , "The Man Who Finally Died" , "The Whip Hand" , "Hoodlum Priest" ,and more. The best version of,"Bonk Fever" ,is here, with some xtra bonk beats, and Scratch Acid gets covered, church organ preacher style,on,"Mary Had A Little Drug Problem".There are also a number of spoken pieces, done by each of the boys, and a couple of those ,"everyone read something different" numbers, "Calling The Kettle Black" , and " 3 Mark Smiths-ah" ,which we do in a roundhouse style.Laying the groundwork for the next 35 or so releases.Profound, eclectic, bizarre, underground, outsider, cult band,punk,alt-rock ,are all labels you can pin on this band.Always there ,when you need a lift.Recorded on Jan.12th,1991 ,20 years ago, straight to boombox,at Joel's room in Cat Machine house. 2 parts.

CAT MACHINE - Dr. Bellows

One of the "must-have" ,tapes in the Cat Machine collection, for a number of reasons.First off,the guests:on disc one,it's Ed J.,and Tony Rizzo, with guests :Dave Roth (who is here for the duration of this recording!),Tall Ray,and Nathan, who chime in on a few songs, you can tell by Nathan's goofy voices, and disc two is :Ed J.,Tony and Joel Rizzo,Dave Roth, and on the last 2 tracks Matt and Frank,of The Headlaunchers! The last track is another of those,"Everyone read something different, out loud,at the same time",things, which we always seemed to do.Some of the best songs ever are on this thing,:"Tore My Hair Out Today" , "Blinky" , "Triggernometry" , "Trying To Shit An Old Turd" , "Behind The Oven" , "Rum's Gonna Rain" , among other great ditties! But the guests are the main thing here,Dave Roth is a genius (find his solo album on this blog!),Nathan and Ray are local legends,Matt and Frank, hippies jamming in a smelly room.I highly recommend this release, especially if you are just discovering Cat Machine,as the tunes here are striving for underground excellence.Recorded straight to boom box at Cat Machine house,12/29/1990 .Stay tuned for more from this exciting outsider band, and their continuing exploits!! In 2 parts, get both to hear the album of the year for 1990!!

SLUGGISHA.BLOGSPOT.COM PRESENTS: 100 BANDS-POPEIL PUNK / K-TEL KORE

Finally,it's here! Months in the making,i'm finally ready to unleash two new genres of music into the world!100 distinctly different, all-new,never recorded bands, and a few tracks from the vault, that have never been released.First let me explain both genres."Popeil Punk"(hereafter, referred to as ,"PP") ,is much like it's namesake,Ron Popeil,in that it is inventive, creative, experimental, fresh, and new.Ahead of it's time,as is the case with most Sluggisha bands. Always evolving into a new music. It's a post-everything,post-music type of music,is frequently of a lo-fi nature, and is always interesting, and something that you probably never heard, even in your wildest dreams.A wild blend ,a melange,of many musics, trying to stuff the sock to overfilling! PP is sometimes used in combination with "K-tel Kore",(hereafter referred to as ,"KK"),in order to bring a more saleable item to market.Because KK is of more of a song oriented nature, like something that might make it onto a K-tel compilation in the future.Like a radio hit ,or something.Usually well-recorded,of a higher "fi" than PP,and features many covers or re-interpretations ,of well known, popular musics. The original tunes that span the KK landscape, are of a "hit-maker",nature,hoping to attract the ear of the general masses. So KK is in more of a pop mindset, although PP techniques are often applied,to "dirty up" the sound a bit.I want to thank everyone who contributed to this great compilation, and , might i say, fine job! Some of the folks, who i actually know are: Joel Rizzo,Tony Rizzo,Mike Smith,Dug Boone,Brian Reed,Food Fortunata,Chuck Connell,Il Ragno,Scotty,Josh,Granma Jane,Eddie,Eric, and Me. Sorry if I missed you.
Some of the bands that are covered are:Led Zeppelin,Fossil Fuel,Sockeye,The Doors. The Kinks,The Sex Pistols,Boy In Love,Lettuce Vultures,Motorhead,G.G.Allin,Radiohead,Sonic Youth,Sonny and Cher,Bad Posture,The Clash,Taylor Swift,R.Kelly,Black Randy & the Metrosquad,Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers,T. Rex,The Meatmen,Aerosmith,Jon Wayne, and i may have missed a few, with a new twist. But the rest of the tunes are all original,(and some of the covers may make you think you are hearing a new song,as some are done in the PP style,as to make them fresh). This compilation is something i hope will go down in music history,as a representative of the most outsider, bizzare, underground genres to ever have been spawned in our lifetime, only to become the talk of daily music classes,in the future. And all those students will smile, and say i was a cool guy.I did the poster you see above, using the art from each artist represented here. All the notes, lyrics, art, and pictures are in the zip. There are 5 files, make sure you get them all. Each disc has 25 tracks on it,and it's the best way to break it down.If you were to try to fit it all on 3 discs, you'd have to cut off a few songs. And i would'nt want anyone to miss even one note of this earth-shattering comp.I am going to try not to post anything else until i get at least 100 downloads of this posting! The next compilation i am currently working on,is an anti-BP cd,full of protests against the billionaire polluters.Since i live 10 miles from the gulf of mexico,on the west coast of Florida, this comp. will be very special to me.I hope to have as many contributors in protest of BP,as i had for this thing. And PLEASE! leave comments! Just click on the box below that says comments. You can sign in as anonymous,if you don't have an account, and leave your name after the comment. Please contact me thru this blog in the comments if you want to contribute to the BP comp. Also in comments, please tel me your favorite band(s) on this comp, and who you would like to hear more of in the future.VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITES!!!a few of the bands already have recordings in the can, just a waitin'.If anyone would like more clarification on any of the bands let me know.thanks, enjoy this -- G O D
P.S. click here for one track that was cut to make way for a late arrival.it's on a pop-out player at archive.org,and is included in a best of sampler from this comp.read the notes to find the missing track.click here for that: http://www.archive.org/details/Sluggisha.blogspot.comPresents100BandsPopeilPunkK-telKoreSample

NOISEKILLR- 3

the third in a series of "library music" for outsiders. features "iggy" on vocals on the track,"king near fire".solo artist using a variety of instruments, creating new sounds from old recycled ones, some television segments that sound like people in the next room,a"time capsule",and one of the last tracks featuring one of my vintage dan electro guitars(stolen soon after,i had a pair of matching guitars, one black, one white, lost to the theives, who also made off with some records, some recording equipment, and for some reason, masters of some moshhawks and other stuff, sadly lost to the ages,as no other copies exist.)called,"shitweasel",which was my pet name for the twins, but i don't remember which shitweasel it actually is that i'm playing.some power electronics, some mellow parts, some really loud industrial sounds, just intriguing and interesting stuff you,ve never heard the likes of,and lots more fun to be had.check it out by clicking here https://archive.org/download/Noisekillr-3/136Noisekillr3.zip
