Wonderland Whites

There is something special about the Pines in the Wonderland stamp set - so peaceful....   The trees are stamped of 3 times using Black Archival ink (without re-inking) to give dimension, I wanted a subtle effect so I have layered with piece of vellum. I embossed the back layer with the Softly Falling TIEF - I love how this brings the focal image and background together then wrapped with gold cording.  The layers are popped up on Dimensionals.   The sentiment is also from Wonderland set, it embosses beautifully. If you really like this stamp set don't hesitate - it is a retiring item and only available while stocks last. The inspiration for this design comes from the sketch sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches: I hope you have enjoyed my project today; I would love to update you when I create a post! Wonderland | Cool Blues

Hello everyone, welcome to the weekend!  Today's card is featuring the beautiful pines from the Wonderland stamp set. Technique: I stamped the pines using the new Black Archival Ink, and then stamped twice to give dimension to the image.  I then sponged with Soft Sky, then Marina Mist.  The snowflakes are stamped with Versamark - I just love the delicate effect this added, below is a close up: I felt the sentiment needed something a little bit more, so I edged the border with Versamark and silver embossing power. Colour Combo: Marina Mist on Soft Sky, Image stamped on Whisper White. The inspiration for this card came from 2 challenges: I hope you have enjoyed  my project today, be sure to pop back again soon to see more of my creations; better still - why not subscribe and follow me by email so that you don't ever miss a post!   I love reading your positive comments, it makes my day.   T hanks for visiting today,   For those that

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop October 2015 - Fun Folds

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for October. This month we are excited to show off some amazing fun folds. We hope you find great inspiration from our projects. I love Fun Folds - don't be put off by thinking that they are difficult, a lot of the styles are quite simple and give lots of "bang" with not much effort at all. This is an example of a Centre Step Card - 2 cuts and 4 folds is all it takes! I thought a step card would be perfect to showcase the lovely trees from the Wonderland Stamp set in the centre of the "step". I added texture by placing the top of the stamped image in the Softly falling TIEF, using the area that only has minimal snowfall.  the image still looked plain compared to the rest of the card, so I added some gold embossing to the trees. I also decorated the inside of the card by embossing another of the stamps and placing in opposite corners to bring all the elements of the card together. Note to se

Wonderland Banner Card

Today is the day, FMS205 gave me the inspiration to use the "Wonderland" stamp set for the first time. As you can see from the Rita's sketch below, it was a great opportunity to showcase the beautiful pines in this set, and the sentiment fitted perfectly across the top of the card. I couldn't find any Gold Foil sheets (note to self, add to next order), so instead used gold embossing powder on the edge of plain cardstock to create the gold banner layer.  I used the Softly Falling TIEF as the card just needed something to give it a little lift - I'm pleased with the effect, not over the top but just enough.  Whilst not traditional Christmas colours, I think it is a lovely combination with Basic Black on Whisper White with Gold.
